The new year is looking brighter than ever for the Kaiju-fandom. Between new movies, new games, and TV shows, we are feasting like never before. Today I wanted to highlight one of my favorite kaiju games on the market, GIGABASH! A true, bonafide, love letter to all things giant, scaley, and angry.

Could you imagine. By some insanely small miracle, when the stars align, we see the EVAs or even one or two of the angels? I think Gigabash definitely has the potential to be THE definitive Kaiju game

GigaBash deserves so much praise despite being the type of fighting game that couldn’t be featured in many FGC events, but hey, let’s hope the likes of King Kong & the Monsterverse, Transformers, Attack On Titan, Power Rangers/Super Sentai, and many others would eventually join in, to give the game more bigger exposure in the next couple of years or so!!!
This is the Kaiju version of Dead By Daylight. A game that celebrates the Tokusatsu genre. From Kaiju, Mecha, and Super Heros being represented. It has both original and licensed content with hopefully more to come.
DBD is a pretty good comparison actually! Never thought of that one.
The only thing that really holds this game back for me is the year long wait time to find even 1 other player online

If my calculations are correct, if there are no bugs that need fixing in this game, the devs should be releasing a new DLC (potentially a second Godzilla DLC) in a few months (March-June)
The Godzilla DLC and the ultra man DLC were spaced apart for almost a year because the devs spend almost the whole year porting GigaBash to Xbox and Nintendo Switch
@@lukegaming5078 apart from a infinite and a few crashes no bugs neded to be patched and with the recent update they added to stages and a new mayem mode with even more powers like really fun update giga bash has the ability to beam clash finally with the dlc charaters with before he couldn't so if gamera gets aded with his s class being that gold form power we finally getting Godzilla vs gamrae outside of that death battle
Last week today, a second Godzilla DLC is announced; the Nemesis Pack.

Someone made a mod where you can play as Mechajuras, though I'm not sure they've released it to the public yet.

1. Yes Gorogong is pretty ape-like, but he ultimately strikes me as far more of an Ultraman-inspired design than King Kong

I definitely see Gigabash as like the Smash Bros for Kaiju because it's got like the same energy and has characters from different franchises and who knows how many are still coming to the game with that new Godzilla DLC on it's way.
As an Ultraman fan I couldn’t be more happy. Hopefully they add an Ultra pack just for the Kaiju;
Also I don’t really see an issue with Ultra’s playing similar with different attributes as that’s how they usually presented them in their shows, guess it’s just preference.
Hopefully they can add in more Ultra’s as well because I’d love to play as Ultraseven or Ultraman Leo!

While I can appreciate what Gigabash is trying to do, the combat is a lot less satisfying then Godzilla Save the Earth. I'd like to see another Pipeworks Kaiju game.
Agreed. The combat is ok but definitely not as fleshed out as Godzilla save the earth. That’s why I was soo disappointed with kiryu moveset in gigabash cause they just turned him into a huge gimmick. Meanwhile in save the earth and unleashed he has an actual moveset
I respect these takes. Gigabash is "simple" but its got some shnasty stuff you can do. Except Kiryu. Kiryus a bit of a spammy boi. Then again I main Samus in Smash so ive got no room to talk 😅
So now that the nemisis dlc came out we need biollante and spacegodzilla... or

I just worry about them not being able to extend the licenses, thus having to shelf the game....
I know...but I'd say the game as a whole is fun even without the licensed characters! I think so long as Gigabash is around i dont think their dlc will go away ^_^

i am so glad people are talking about this game! it's my favourite fighting game of all time and the only one in my opinion to rival smash bros!
we just need an active online playerbase, and a more active community, and it's beaten smash by a LOONG shot.
Until then, we just play against CPUs to our hearts' content 😅 lol

Saddest thing is that this game does everything right but just playerbase is nonexistent. Cant even find a match majority of the time on ps5. The game overall is pretty fun. Does get a bit spammy ESPECIALLY when somebody plays kiryu(sad how they did my boi in terms of a moveset 💀😭) but overall pretty damn good game. Kinda makes me wish pipeworks would remaster their trilogy and release those games for next gen.
Maybe some day man....some day. Til then this game is fun for a few rounds here and there to feel the "pipeworks magic" again ya know?

This game is friggin GREAT, unfortunately its under the radar and online is dead af just like with the Mech City Brawl games. Unfortunately the Kaiju, Mecha, and Tokusatsu series are all still VERY niche and doesn't appeal to many😔, GREAT games tho💯😁
