house music keeps evolving! This record is a perfect example of how techno/house should be evolve, whit feeling off placement off sounds, eq-ing and build up. Word.
I bought TB om the day of its American release in 1971 and have never looked back. People whining about his latest work should be grateful that so an inspiring a musician is still creating masterpieces - like this. Thanks for uploading! Roy for the OC
I'm getting a little tired of narrow minded Oldfield fans moaning about this album... I'm 47 years old and have been a Oldfield fan for many years and have to say the new remix album is fantastic and this is probably my favorite track.. Brilliant, just brilliant.
Fresh modern if not original - but hay it brings Ommadawn to the 2000's - I like it - watched the Bbc 4 Tubular Bells documentary tonight & thought I miss s bit of MO - first thing I found on you tube & yes love it :)
Agreed. Some of the tracks on this album are a bit off, but this is just right -- still unmistakable Oldfield, but different enough to be something new. Doesn't replace the original: we now have BOTH to listen to.
The BBC 4 Tubular Bells documentary reminded me to catch up with Mikes work, love the live stuff of reworked Tubular Bells very much and this aint bad either.
Amazing! Finally Mike does something innovative with his earlier works! Love this track and this album. The first I like in 20 years (stopped liking Mike's work since Amarok).
Before 2:40 Wow its Amazing!!
I totally understand what you say, I think it comes down to taste. Mike has been rehashing his old works for 20 years, with no great success, now, in my opinion, he does something totally innovative and contemporary. I like this album. But I understand where you're coming from. This is NOT Ommadawn.
I totally agree with PriaboniaMusic and moodyblue1964 It deteriorates too much into straight "techno". This is not the Mike Oldfield I like. I stopped after Songs of Distant Earth and continue to listen to Amarok, Ommadawn and Incantations.
Christophe Boulet return to ommadawn may be of use to you.. its famous line for oldfieldians is "on horseback? i'd rather be here.." i let you figure it out 🤗
Interesting remix of a great classic. It gets a bit old quickly though, lacking the usual creativity and incessant subtle variations in MO's tracks. The first part reminds me more of some 70's Berlin School sequencer sticked on it. The next part has a real scent of Kraftwerk rhythms and melodies... and then it goes a bit down the drain IMO.
I love the first half of this track, but it then deteriorates too much into straight "techno". Mike lost the master tapes for Incantations, so I had to recreate it myself! If you like the Ode to Cynthia do check out my remix at ua-cam.com/video/E6HwXKT0zGE/v-deo.html
There is so much material in Ommadawn that a remix could utilize in creative ways. This crap ignores all of it apart from briefly referencing a 2 chord chord sequence that does appear in one section of the original. This whole project seems like a really rather sad cash-grab.
Might be ok in a nightclub but my ears don't seem to be able to respond to this at all. Old 'Ommadawn' fans like me I doubt could ever warm to a remix that seems to lose much of the feeling and imagery of the original. It's almost like taking a Picasso and re-painting bit's of the original in the hope you can turn it into something else but in doing so, you completely lose the masterpiece.
Poland Love Mike Oldfield ;-)
Genius ! Greets From Poland Mike !
Well this " old Ommadawn fan" absolutely loves this brilliant remix.
Génial
J ai 56 ans et je trouve cela tout simplement génial
Ein Meisterstück, das aus dem Album herausragt!

loveley version. ommadawn is still a masterpiece but this is good. you can create a good mix if you understand the music.
Fresh modern if not original - but hay it brings Ommadawn to the 2000's - I like it - watched the Bbc 4 Tubular Bells documentary tonight & thought I miss s bit of MO - first thing I found on you tube & yes love it :)
done with respect to original structure. great!

What's wrong with Amarok?
@@1967davidfitness At the time I hate it, now I think it's one of Mike's best albums.
@@miguelnglopes Cool, but which albums don't you like?
@@1967davidfitness These days I like most of them actually
@@miguelnglopes But you said you stopped liking his work since AmAROK.
Gänsehaut !
him and his brother are the best in the world
OMG this is a masterpiece! technicaly perfect!
i like this a lot

Genial
super muzika
Ommadawn was released in 1975.....
Before 2:40 Wow its Amazing!! After 2:40 Ohhh mannn this guy is trolling

This is clearly ommadawn
It’s like Moby does Mike. I’m not mad.
majstore
Life changes, and music changes, MIKE sometimes is bored, need to modify comfortabily, dont you think it?
Mike has lost his inspiration so he's been blowing the dust from the old succesfull lp's with interesting remixes like this one . Only MO can do that.
he changes some things, no more
une merveille
¡Oh ahí me han dao!
the beST, means, no people CAN DO IT
This almost, but not quite, entirely unlike Ommadawn.
This is cheetah in a cage...
try to do 10 seconds OF MIKE, instead of criticize , do anything!!!, PLEASE

1971 ?
deteroriorates? what? He is changing thing, not deterioriorating!!!

Listen to the first 3 minutes and 17 seconds of it,then STOP!

You are giving opinions, but, DO YOU PAY FOR LISTENING IT?
If you want TECHNO AND you dont like, YOU DONT NEED TO LISTEN, do not listen it, are you going to pay for it?
I love the first half of this track, but it then deteriorates too much into straight "techno".

I love Mike Oldfied, and I love Kraftwerk
I dont love Mike Oldfied meets Kraftwerk
I'll stick with the original, thanks.
Strange disharmonic sound....

I believe this is from when he went through his "Ibiza Phase"

Not for me. The original is a million times better.
Cheap trance ... a shame
completely destroyed an original and wonderful piece of mike,s masterpieces!! utter rubbish,
