H‑E‑B is the best thing about Texas! There’s also something to be said about the wonders of not being a publicly owned company. They were prepared for the pandemic before it even hit us. They had their eye on what was happening in China and started stocking their warehouses accordingly. They handled the freeze like a champ and for their communities vs for their bottom line. They hit the ground running after Texas weather disasters. ❤️ H‑E‑B. They should just run the state.
YES! They were literally a life-saver in/after hurricane Harvey a few years ago. They are an outstanding member of the community. Generous, under-the-radar, always ready to help.
Yes! I’m pretty sure my old HEB used to do like food pantry type shops for those who couldn’t afford groceries at least once a month. I appreciate this company!
As someone who shops H‑E‑B all the time I tend to take things for granted… like tortillas but this video brought me so much joy to see that you enjoyed it so much. Thank you for reminding me how blessed I am.
As a Texan, I was so excited to watch this video! I will always sing HEB's praises. Not only is their variety and pricing great but they also contribute to the community. They have sponsored my dog rescue group's fund raising events for years, when we have a grass fire they always send out snacks and Gatorade for the fire fighters and they have even brought in 18 wheelers full of washers and dryers for free use when my city's water system was compromised. Forever throwing my money at HEB and happy to do so.
Reasons I will never move from San Antonio, Texas: the food I could never leave my taquerias and Whataburger, the absolute sheer volume selection and quality of HEB their store brands are just as good if not better than national brands in taste and cost, turnarounds I was shocked when I found out other states didn’t have these. They improve traffic flow and make so much sense.
Hi Christine. I’m live in Central Texas. I can’t even image having to live without HEB. The HEB brand, the excellent produce, the great employees… They get all my grocery money. Have a wonderful back home.
We love our HEB! I have two daughters that work there! I have to say that they take really good care of their employees! Every time I go I find something that I’ve never seen before. Glad you liked your trip!
I’m so glad to live in Texas, HEB is the bomb. One of my new favorites is the queso with brisket mix in the deli dept. open the package, dump in crock pot, add some liquid of your choice, from beer to beef broth, and heat until everything is melted. Eat with chips or on a baked potato! They had their game on during Covid with grocery pickup, too. Wonderful! Did you make it to a Buccees? They are the kings of snack foods, shopping, and cleanest bathrooms EVER!
Greetings from rural Australia. I love Buccees. My cousins, in Houston, recommended it to us. Best choice in road trip food and best bathrooms anywhere in America.
Yup 👍 👍👍👍..HEB..I need to stop by tomorrow.. And I Loved what your son said about porches ..we all have a porch on this block..and the porch is like an Extra LIVING ROOM 💓
I don’t have a back porch but I do have a covered patio. And yes, that’s what I call mine, my outdoor living room. I use it more than I do my inside living room. But I’m an outdoor person anyway. Only bad weather forces me inside.
Moved to San Antonio a couple years ago and I am an H‑E‑B convert. What are all other grocery stores even doing????? Military family who has lived in a few different places…H‑E‑B is my favorite grocery store of all time!
I LOVE HEB! We live near Austin and we have HEB stores ALL over. They aren't all as big as the store you're in, but the core products are universal. But my daughter lives in the Dallas area and they've never had HEB stores up there. The story goes that the founder of HEB made a verbal promise to the owners of Albertsons and Kroger stores decades ago, that he wouldn't develop in that area for "x" number of years. Just last week the first HEB in that area opened in Frisco, TX. My daughter says the lines to get in were insane and there were no places to park. In my area, there is no other store for me; only HEB. Their ads on TV say it best: HEB--Here Everything's Better. Love watching you and your cute family!
@@rangerlove7 My daughter is in McKinney. Apparently, one is opening there within the next couple of months. She was raised on HEB, so being without it has been tough for her, haha!
My daughter lives by that store ! I was just there babysitting grandkids and you’re right it’s a madhouse! Even have cops directing traffic! I live north of Houston and we have several hebs but none the size of this store! Love H‑E‑B!!
HEB stores are in most small towns here in Texas. I live south of the metroplex and we have a huge HEB store here in Burleson and a smaller one in the town next to us
Aside from HEB, we can also find them occassionally at our Dollar General in Godley, TX! They are quite large for a Little Debbie snack, but the flavor is really good- not super strong, just right!!
I'm only at the 4 minute mark of the video and I would have purchased as much non-perishable food/beverage items that I know I couldn't get back in my home state and purchase shipping items, packed everything up and just sent them out to my home or fam/friends house until I got home!! This is what I did back in '96 when I went to Hawaii, bought items and shipped them back home (I did have family to receive it at home). How fun to have your entire family taste test with you, your kids are adorable!
Happiness is watching a video with Christine, Dave, Harley, Andrew, Tyler and Ryan doing a taste-test. You all are hilarious and I could watch a taste-testing marathon with y’all. Who needs Netflix? 😆🤣😂

Love your family. They are such good sports on your adventures. I am from California, lived in Idaho for a short time, and got to Texas as fast as I could. Your content is great. I love the mix of family, fitness, and frugal cooking done with a smile.
Their customer service is top notch, amazing goods/food, their response during the pandemic and through natural disasters, meal deals, combo locos and their debit card that gives you $$$ on their brands. The gas is the best price too! And yeah the tortillas are amazing…you should have got the southwest and made pinwheels with laughing cow cheese and their Cajun smoked turkey. They sell freshly cooked crawfish when in season, fire roast hatch chilies outside when in season…I could go on forever. I missed them so much when my husband was stationed out of state.
My mom, born in 1939, taught us that a “pee-can” was something you kept under your bed so you didn’t have to go to the outhouse at night. This Alabama girl definitely says pecan with NO long vowel sounds! I would love to visit that HEB as a vacation destination if I could get free shipping to get everything back home. 😂
One of my best recipes was handed down by my grandfather from Ohio who was part of a traveling band of clowns which toured the country in the 1930s and 40s. Not only did he fully participate as a performer (juggling and spraying seltzer mostly) but he was alsmo in charge of the Clown Chuckwagon, and over the years, cae up with a nice selection of mostly campfire stews (or "or stewge" as Gramps used to call them),, soups and casseroles. One of my favorites, casseroles, which I still prepare frequently, consists of baked beans and wieners (for the KETO portion of the meal), macaroni and cheese. and a couple handfuls of those big orange circus peanuts - a sweet yet savory bake-up that's a hit with everyone who tries it. Gramps had one clown name for performing with his fellow troupers at carnivals, civic events, etc., throughout the central Midwest ""Antsy Pants" - but around the campfire at breakfast or suppertime, when most of these talented vagabond buffoons had removed their make-up and hung their giant shoes in their campers, (but oddly enough not all of them) Gramps was affectionately known among the boys as "Yummo." He told me how it wasn't unusual for farmers to donate a hen or two and maybe a couple of dozen eggs, in return for a brief barnyard slapstick performance by a couple of the boys for the farmer, his family and his hired hands.. He also told me as soon as he got back to camp with the chickens, the alcoholic Geek who traveled with them would inevitably beg permission to bite the heads of the pullets when Gamps. She was the seamstress - making a good number of the clown suits from her own design and repairing all them when required. So of course Gram and Gran rolled along from town- to -town with a big foot pump operated sewing machine in their trailer, - in addition to all the pots, pants, cutlery, stirrers, etc. My Dad was born in a campground in Posey County, Indiana, delivered by a local midwife and plopped into a casserole baking dish as soon as Gramps cut the umbilical cord with his second best onion chopping knife. As for me, I married young and did well for myself in doing so. My wife is the daughter of an outdoor parking lot magnate in a major city in Ohio. I was dowried with three downtown lots. I've had a comfortable life pretty much doing whatever I want all day while other people collect money on my behalf while sitting down in booths, watching TV, reading (or even snoozing between customers arriving and honking the horns to wake 'em up). Consequently, for awhile, I was able to open a couple of storefront business which specialized in selling "clown suits for the whole family," including custom made if somebody wanted them - and even clown suits for the family pets. The seamstresses I hired used Gram's patterns, of course. . The stores were called "Hem and Ha!" - and with every sale, I usually threw in a copy of one of Gramps' recipes for a clown casseroles, "silly stew," "buffoon bread, "Punchinello Porridge,," or what have you. Of course, they all pair well with seltzer water, ramps was ready to get those birds cooking. Seemed that this particular Geek actually not only savored the taste of the live chickens he was required to eat (which were usually provided by the promoter of the event at which the troupe was performing) - but craved more when "off=the-clock" Talk about a Carnivore diet!! Wow!!! Reportedly, he was known to comment that "live chicken pairs well with a pint of Carstairs White Seal Blended."
Yes. I’m a native Texan. Been living out of state for my husband’s job for about four years now. When we go home, we always go to the HEB in Bastrop. It’s heaven. Can’t wait to move back.
This might be my favorite video ever!!! I’ve grown up with HEB and my husband has worked for HEB for 45 years, he started at 16. I love their Creamy Creations ice cream even more than Blue Bell. Something for you to try next time. Hope y’all had a great trip to my hometown! HEB is the BEST!!!
@@vegemitegirl1971 I’d love to go one day❣️ My mother’s best friend lives in Alabama (Roll Tide), and I plan to visit her as well as other states like Texas ❤️🤍💙🇦🇺
@@Pandorash8 Airfares are up a little right now but best thing to do is save for a slightly higher airfare price (I'm talking about the variations in economy) but don't book until you see a price you like
AGREE on all points!!! Texas is GREAT and so is HEB. You should also try HEB's swankier younger brother, Central Market - heaven on earth for foodies. BTW, I wear that exact same HEB t-shirt you sometimes wear, love it.
HEB continously gives back to their communities by participating in EVERYTHING that benefits everyone. HEB was prepared for the pandemic before the rest of the world was. They treat both their employees and customers well. They definitely focus on philanthropy and it shows. HEB for president.
Hi Christine, I've been following you for quite a while now from down here in New Zealand and I just want to say thank you for always cheering me up. You and you're family are always so positive and happy and you make me laugh. Keep them coming.
Every time you post a "grocery stop" when you are traveling I make my hubby watch so he knows that I am Not the only person on this planet that Has to check out grocery stores while on vacation. 😁 Where I am in 🇨🇦 we don't have a Sam's Club or Aldi's or some of the American stores. I've never heard of HEB so it is now on my Grocery Store Bucket List. Thanks Christine 😁
I LOVE Heb. I've been in Texas since 2001 and don't think I could live without it. I live about an hour away from one but do not mind the drive to get all the delicious things they have to offer! If you go to HEB on Saturday or Sunday you have to get the barbacoa they make in store that is amazing. Word to the wise you have to go early as they sometimes put a special together with the fresh HEB tortillas!!
I shop at that HEB location all the time and the selection is amazing! Also I'm sure the blue bell ice cream was amazing but the heb creamy creations ice cream is to die for 😍😍😍
Welcome home! I rarely shop at HEB, but only because it is SO HUGE! I just don't have time to go through there to get groceries. The variety, especially of Texas-made products, is incredible!
So glad you were in Texas for Blue Bell Salted Caramel Brownie flavor. So good. My mouth was puckering on all the sour candy. Not a fan of sour. Tortillas fresh made and their chips are soooooo good. Just pick up a carton of Guacamole and it's a meal. Y'all come back now. Safe travels home. HEB out of state meal boxes. Make it happen.
Y'all are hilarious!! Little Debbie also has Snickerdoodle Creme Pies. Oh, my WORD - they're SOOOO good! The cake has crunchy bits of cinnamon sugar inside and the creme filling, super soft cookie and the crunchy bits are the PERFECT combo. I sweet talked the Little Debbie guy into selling me several boxes straight off his truck when I couldn't find them in any stores near me. :) Then I had to figure out how to fit them in my backpack and lug them around with me for the rest of my work day. But it was so worth it!
That looks like the HEB Plus at Bandera and 1604. I LOVE THAT STORE!!! I love all HEB stores. I miss them so much :( :( :(. I am also a Texan living in Idaho. Wish they would come up here, so much variety, and very budget friendly, love their sampling stations, and what to make for dinner stations. Now Fred Meyer/Kroger is trying to buy Albertsons. Great, not we will have no variety and very expensive groceries. Buy a Big Red soda!!!!
As a proud Texan HEB is definitely one of our Crown Jewels lol That and Bucees is always an adventure. If you ever go back to Texas, go to the giant HEB in San Antonio. It’s like 182,000 square feet (if that’s not the one you already went to).
My heart is smiling so big with happiness for yall!! So glad you got to go to HEB and take us along with you. I had a blast watching you enjoy all of those goodies during your taste tests too. I make a 30 minute drive once a month just to go to HEB here and Stockup. All of their stuff is good, and the people that work there are always so nice. I'm just so happy for yall!! 😍
My husband used to work at that very store, LOL. It's the size of 3 football fields. He transferred to a store 3/4 of a mile from our house. Walking to and from there every day, he walks LESS than he did when he was working at that HEB,--and he used to drive to and from that one.. That store is totally nuts. I've driven by some mornings, and the lot was packed at 7am.
I know exactly what y'all were feeling! We live in NC, but I grew up in Texas. We just got back from a trip to Texas, but we drove. Lots of miles, but we got more HEB to bring home! We went to at least 3 different HEBs and loved them all!!!! We also tried those Apple Pie chips and they were weird. We did keep eating them though. 😀 Got some borracho beans, tortillas, Best Maid pickles, and Gebhardts chili powder. We also got some of the Chupacabra seasoning and the HEB Texas seasonings. Great minds! Oh and we got to go to the Blue Bell factory in Brenham!!
Front porches! Yesss!! And my mama would totally agree with you on Blue Bell Ice Cream. Both good Southern things. Thank the good Lord we have them both in Mississippi as well. I lived in Austin for a year and yes...I loved HEB! My sister and I still talk about it. 😁 So glad y’all had a good trip!
What got me most about this video is that the store is fully stocked and neat. Our stores have huge holes where inventory should be and inventory stacked in the aisles because there aren't enough employees to stock it.
Hope you enjoyed your time here! I shop at HEB all the time, and you're right it has become like Trader Joe's used to be for us, especially since we have to drive almost 2 hours to get to the nearest one in Austin. It was fun to see all your family in this video, especially during the sour strips taste tests.
I love HEB! I miss it. When I visit family in Texas I always shop and load up a cooler and all of my favorite things. Love the San Antonio blend coffee.
Feeling so lucky that I shop every week at my HEB:). Love your channel and your excitement for the little things in life that we tend to forget. Love y’all!
I love that your son mentioned the u turn lane😂, every otr driver hates that thing. 😅 I’m originally from north central Missouri, in Brunswick we have the world’s largest pecan. Nope, not pe can; but pecan. A pe can is what you use at a carnival where they don’t have flushing toilets. 😂 Thanks for everything you do. Your family is always a joy to watch!
So worth it!!! I have relatives in Texas. Whenever we're there for visits I schedule in a trip to HEB. I have a list of all kinds of great things that I can only find at HEB. It is grocery heaven!!!!!
Oh my goodness! Literally laughing out loud. I can’t eat gluten so I was vicariously living through your taste testing. Made me so happy. Thank you for your content!
Bowling for soup! Yes! They are Texas made too lol. I live in Texas and take my H‑E‑B for granted. But as far as grocery stores go, H‑E‑B is not just a store, it’s an experience.
I was drooling at all the tortillas and spices and special flavoured pretzels that are either not available or are crappy quality here in England, so it almost gave me whiplash when you got excited about the chocolates which are totally normal here. Literally I could walk 5 minutes from my house to the corner shop and buy the mint aero and munchies and cadbury fingers no problem. Weirdly though I never do it, guess we just always want what we can't get! 😄
The one and only time I went to HEB I was amazed at the size of the produce-- everything was 4 times (or more) larger than normal. Wow Texas really does grow everything bigger !!!
That looks like my H‑E‑B! Born and raised Texan; H‑E‑B is hands down the best! 🙌🏼 their curbside and delivery service is a life saver as a mom of 3 boys!
LOVE H E B!!! Did quite a few trips to several H E B's while in New Braunfels and San Antonio on 2 diff trips last year. And of course, BUC-EE'S New Braunfels. This store is so much better than a Trader Joe's. I do miss my Winco being from Idaho though. Our excitement in North Carolina is Aldi and Lidl. Fiancé was born in Bryan, TX
I grew up in the D/FW area, and it killed me to move to Eastern NC, then to Northern IL and NOT have Blue Bell ice cream!!! We moved to SC in 2006 - and there, in the freezer case of our local Publix, was BLUE BELL ICE CREAM!!!! Our favorite, hands down, is “Banana Pudding”… OMG…. It tastes like homemade banana pudding that’s been frozen!!!! YUUUUMMMM!!!!!

As an Australian, I really enjoyed this glimpse into Texas HEB culture 😊 Thank you for sharing x
Also, your family is awesome❣️
This South Aussie says you have to go. You have to go to Buccees and try the Beaver Nuggets too.
🤚 And that Will Ferrell clip got me 😆!
Hi Christine, I've been following you for quite a while now from down here in New Zealand and I just want to say thank you for always cheering me up. You and you're family are always so positive and happy and you make me laugh. Keep them coming.
Watching you & your family is so fun! You guys are wonderful.
I loved seeing how excited you are about being at an HEB. I just finished a long shift at the HEB Plus I work at and this made my day.
You’re living my dream 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 love that shop !!!!
Loved this video! Your family is too cute! Christine, you are the mom that everyone wishes they had!
HEB is only in Texas.
@@lorettasegura4091 Yes. I know. 🙄
A day without H-E-B is like a day without sunshine!!! LOVE H-E-B! Love from Texas ❤
H-E-B is the best!!!! Besides being a great grocery store it is an amazing place to work. They treat their employees like family.
Hahaha, frugal and fit just flew out the window😄😄😄
Love how everyone had something very different that they like about Texas 😊
HEB is definitely something I miss about living in TX...awesome grocery store!
I have family come visit Texas and ask when can we go to HEB and WHATABURGER ❤😊
Whataburger is a MUST whenever I go back home!
I miss HEB so much more now after this video. Thanks for the laughs!
Hope you enjoyed your time here! I shop at HEB all the time, and you're right it has become like Trader Joe's used to be for us, especially since we have to drive almost 2 hours to get to the nearest one in Austin. It was fun to see all your family in this video, especially during the sour strips taste tests.
Oh my gosh! Several years ago, I bought at Aldi four plastic tumblers like the one at 14:34!
I'm in San Antonio and love HEB. There are a few HEB brand products I am not wild about but in general I love their stores.
I’ve been hoping for an HEB in Fort Worth for years! Please, HEB, if you build it, we will come!!
I remember 20 plus years ago traveling around Texas and shopping at HEB and being amazed by their variety. I loved that store even back then.
I love HEB! I miss it. When I visit family in Texas I always shop and load up a cooler and all of my favorite things. Love the San Antonio blend coffee.
Feeling so lucky that I shop every week at my HEB:). Love your channel and your excitement for the little things in life that we tend to forget. Love y’all!
I miss HEB. Moved from West TX to East TX and my soul hasn’t been the same since!
This video was so much fun!! Thanks for bringing us along ❤
So worth it!!! I have relatives in Texas. Whenever we're there for visits I schedule in a trip to HEB. I have a list of all kinds of great things that I can only find at HEB. It is grocery heaven!!!!!
HEB is the Best!! Born and raised in TX! I loved your video because you were so happy and excited!!
I love my H-E-B and so thankful we have them all over San Antonio ❤
You are a bunch of fun crazies♡♡♡ I love that everyone participated in taste testing. Thanks for the entertainment Be well
LOVE LOVE LOVE HEB. I miss it soooo much. The tortillas, the fajitas, Big Red!
So thankful to live in San Antonio and have multiple HEBs within 10 miles from my house! I guess we definitely take them for granted!
Oh my goodness! Literally laughing out loud. I can’t eat gluten so I was vicariously living through your taste testing. Made me so happy. Thank you for your content!
Welcome to Texas!! Enjoy HEB and don’t forget Bucees..Hugs from Santa Fe Texas
Going to DFW and Houston next month, can’t wait 😜
The one and only time I went to HEB I was amazed at the size of the produce-- everything was 4 times (or more) larger than normal. Wow Texas really does grow everything bigger !!!
That looked like so much fun, thanks for sharing and as always stay safe and God bless love ya Nancy
Absolutely great video. I've laughed so hard at Dave. My husband loved Blue Bell ice cream
Yes, I agree HEB Is the best thing about Texas ! I'm surprised you guys didn't get sick From that mix !
That looks like my H‑E‑B! Born and raised Texan; H‑E‑B is hands down the best! 🙌🏼 their curbside and delivery service is a life saver as a mom of 3 boys!
Went to HEB yesterday ❤! I always keep in mind when traveling I buy what I want and ship it home! Especially at Disney!
Butter Tortillas are the best store tortillas ever!!! My HEB is tiny compared to this one but as long as it has the tortillas, I'm set ;)
My closest HEB is really small, but just 12 miles away is a big HEB that's great.
I love Hailey's tie-dye shirt there at the end!
“The roads work.” 🤣🤣🤣 I am from Massachusetts, where this is unheard of.
Christine ~ I love your videos and now your PODCAST (!) even though I am a single 20-something with no kids lol. It’s therapeutic for me! ❤
Born and raised in Texas! I love my HEB!! Our daughter moved to Boise…she misses her HEB!
Wow that was awesome! I love your kids! They are all so funny!!!
Your family is great! I love that they're willing to try anything!
Lifetime Texas girl here. We live in SA and Im here to agree.... HEB is amazing. Hope you enjoyed your time in Texas!
The little Debbie PB treats are AMAZING
I've been watching your videos for years. Your kids are getting huge!
Love the Taste Tests :) And it looks like ur husband works out quite a bit !!! can't miss it !
Wait!! I need to go watch this on my TV!! LOL I'm from Texas and drive quite a way to get to my HEB it's always worth it!! 💯❤️🤠HEB LOVE
HEB has a store brand brisket queso dip that is amazeballs.
😮I haven't tried that yet! Oh now it is going in my pick up cart with a bag of fresh tortilla chips.
Welcome back Frugal Fit Mom. 😁😁
Thank you! 🤗
@@FrugalFitMom You're quite welcome. Have a great Monday.
Woohoo...they are building an HEB in our city!!! Can't wait!!!
HEB IS AMAZING! HEB plus is outta this world!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂
