I’d like to see this as well. I have a pair of Pegasus 36s that I had custom made by Nike on their site and they are my most comfortable shoes I own(right next to Yeezy 350). And I own quite a few. Lol but they are so simplistic in their design I feel like. Would love to see what makes them one of my favorite shoes to wear to work. 👍🏼

If it hasn’t already been mentioned in the comments, the 36s take design inspiration from the 6s. Each Jordan starting with the 31s has taken design inspirations from that shoe’s 30 year younger sibling.

it would be interesting to see the bounce test with a pierced air unit to see how much the pressure of the air unit contributes to the rebound. especially with the units that have very little pressure in them compared to a unit like the 36's

If you want technology and a shoe that's futuristic, go back to the Jordan 33. It was without laces and had a tightening mechanism in the bottom. There's a thick rubber band strap on top where the laces were supposed to be. You pull the strap and it tightens to your comfort level. The cords that were used to pull were actually the same material as that was used in parachutes. Pulling the strap, you can actually hear the mechanism clicking and see it working on the bottom of the outsole like a clock. Crazy technology.

You’ve already done a few pairs but here are a few recommendations - Jim Green, Frye, Thursday Boots Company, Grant Stone, Allen Edmonds etc. This could be a Christmas Chelsea series since you may want to wear a dressier boot for holiday get togethers.

Really good analysis of the engineering and design that goes into modern sports shoes. Too often they are dismissed as cheap fashion items and while fashion does play its part, the shoe companies invest a lot in research and technology to make better shoes. The understanding of human bio-mechanics has improved significantly over the decades.

Old to the new....the old tech was a bang for your buck; better quality....and shoe cost less. They cut corners now and hike up the prices, it's disappointing because seeing a shoe retro brings back so many good memories, until you realize how trash it is🥴😩 if you could find the older originals it would be worth it....I enjoy all the vids and it helps me to reason why I shouldn't buy every release 🤪

The only issue is that after a while the connection between the outsole and the mesh deteriorates so water start to get in from the bottom. Hope the new versions hold for longer.

I feel like the black arch support piece is a big part of what makes this shoe perform so well. It gives a lot more rigidness to the midsole, which i really like when lunging forward. When i got the Giannis 3 for example, i was disappointed than i couldn't play in them because the lack of midsole stiffness made them feel like flipflops.

Shanktember so during the month of September you do both shoes and boots that you really, really LIKE, HOPE and EXPECT to have a Shank in them, revile the shoe/boot after the cut in half see if your gamble paid off on your thoughts. It could be ANY boot or shoe you wish and hope to have the ever elusive shank. Tell the pros and cons per usual just indulge us with the reason or reasons why it should or could be a great shoe hopefully the maker or brand of shoe/boot will take your findings and recreate that shoe/boot you brought to ours and theirs attentions.

You'd think they'd be good in cold weather, but they don't insulate enough & the treads aren't designed to handle ice, so they aren't useful for cold weather either.
But I suppose if you always have cold feet, the Vessi would be your shoe brand of choice....

the ribbons wrapping around the misole- to keep the integrity shaping of the foam
the connecting bridge outsole- to store and release energy when it is deformed from bending.
    many more stuffs
Foot Dr Zach is a great channel if anyone wants some shoes scientific review there!
LASTly, i think the most underrated thing about performance driven shoes, IS the compression of the rubberized traction!- this is a factor MANY people don't notice! i believe the traction helps both accleration/deceleration and ALSO in the rebounding/compressing of the WHOLE shoes! and Jordan "traction" is their SECRET weapon, they dominate it

In that bar drop test I think if you were to put a human sized weight behind it to mimic a human jumping or something I think you’d find it would just completely squash through the Yeezy and it would still rebound with this Jordan 36. The Yeezy cushion is completely exposed whereas the Jordan has rigid and durable materials on the sole to protect it from the wears and tears of playing basketball, so a small weight is going to bounce well on the Yeezy, but a life sized weight would shoot straight through it. Just my opinion.

I played basketball, like a lot, during the 90s and the 2000s. I tell you, not many pairs of sneakers could resist a month of playing. I'm a bit on the heavy side. We played on asphalt for most of the year, except the winter when we played indoors on hardware floors. The old Nike airs, would pop their bubble in a week. And by the end of the month they were unusable. I did have a pair of Jordans that lasted me for 6 months, but I think they lasted more coz I was saving them for important games and didn't use them as much in the rotation. Am a bit envious for this new material science. On the other hand, I don't play as much ball, but I still walk a fair bit. I like the foamy Sketchers. I can still wear out a pair in a year though. Just by walking.

I'm a bigger guy and I usually play in lebrons or big shoes with thick uppers and heavy cushioning (lebron soldiers) - picked these up though and they're ridiculously comfy and supportive, and the upper is amazingly durable. What an incredible incredible performance sneaker.

Not a big deal and I promise there is no judgment, just more of a pet peeve of mine as a diver. You mention the shoes are like wet suits and they are waterproof. Wetsuits aren’t waterproof, they are actually wet while in use. The neoprene fibers of a good wet suit is stitched or woven in a way to allow water to flow in but have a harder time escaping the wetsuit. The water in the wetsuit will begin to warm up because of body heat. A dry suit is waterproof though because it is sealed before entry into cold water, allowing warm air to stay in the suit throughout a dive. Some divers even use hair dryers to fill their dry suits with warm air, but with any extreme it can be counter productive if you get to warm. If you start to sweat it will be cold and you will have to use more body heat to warm your self up. This was totally my issue alone and no judgment, just wanted to clear that up, also I like to share knowledge to people willing to receive it.

Please keep doing cowboy boots! No one else does this type of videos and I think that series would do good.
Also maybe do a series where each video has someone from the office and they talk about there top three most worn shoes/boots. Maybe you could cut one in half in the video and see why they wear them so much.

I’m really surprised by the lack of knowledge on the eclipse plate for torsional support… like the carbon fibre in the 11’s. The foot doesn’t flex at the mid foot, if not for that sort of flexion, it’s to stop the shoe twisting up on cuts, and keeps the foot planted in the footbed. The only part of the foot that flexes is at the toes, so why does he keep bending the shit out of the shoe in the middle?
