- 25 Railway Stations in Odisha have been planned to be redeveloped as World Class Railway Stations under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. These Stations are… Rajgangpur, Hirakud, Rairakhol, Khariar road, Baripada, Mancheswar, Lingaraj Temple Road, Khurda Road Jn , Bhawanipatna, Bargarh Road, Barpali, Jaleswar, Kantabanji, Balangir, Harishanker Road, Sakhi Gopal, Balugaon, Barbil, Chatrapur, Dhenkanal, Meramandali, Angul, Talcher Road, Muniguda and Damanjodi.
In a historic initiative, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi Ji laid the foundation stone for redevelopment of 508 Railway Stations across the length and breadth of the country, today through video conferencing from New Delhi. These Railway Stations will be redeveloped at a cost of over Rs. 24,470 Crores.
Master Plans have been prepared for development of Railway Stations under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme as ‘City Centres’ with proper integration of both sides of the city. Integrated approach driven by holistic vision of overall urban development of the city, centered around the railway station. Apart from this, design of station building will be inspired by local culture, heritage and architecture.
Altogether, 57 Railway Stations in Odisha have been nominated under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. All parts have been given priority. These includes, Coastal Odisha (15): Balasore, Jaleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Paradeep, Raghunathpur, Cuttack, Bhubaneshwar, Lingaraj Temple Road, New Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Mancheswar, Puri, Sakhi Gopal, Balugaon; Western Odisha (20): Rourkela, Bimlagarh, Rajgangpur, Panposh, Jharsuguda, Jharsuguda Road, Brajrajnagar, Belpahar, Sambalpur, Sambalpur City, Khariar Road, Hirakud, Kesinga, Bargarh Road, Barpali, Balangir, Titlagarh Jn., Kantabanji, Harishankar Road, Bhawanipatna; Central Odisha (6): Angul, Talcher, Talcher Road, Dhenkanal, Meramandali, Rairakhol; Northern Odisha (7): Kendujhargarh, Barbil, Jaroli, Baripada, Rairangpur, Betnoti, Badampahar; Southern Odisha (9): Brahmapur, Chatrapur, Paralakhemundi, Rayagada, Muniguda, Gunupur, Koraput, Jeypore, Damanjodi.
