I want to share that my grandpa loves your videos and calls you the hippie camp (generation difference I guess lol), so every monday he asks if there is a video and we watch together. He is next to me wanted to say hi to you all, love your work!
Hy Mister Grandpa. 😇
Hi Grandpa!
What a great way to spend time together.
I just lost my mom, and believe me, these memories will heal you a great bit!
It really is like a hippie commune (been there, got the scars). But much better organized. There clearly is strong leadership with rules, which you need with so many folk around. Some people have to be corrected, warned and so on. Not easy, I bet.
Good call for your garandpa calling it a hippie camp
So sweet 😅
poo palace 1.0 is only half full! compost needs to be WORKED! turned and consolidated as it reduces in volume...so get the pitchfork and shovels out and consolidate your bins and turn them at the same time.... in theory when the last is full the first is earth compost ready to be spread or sold.the water from the poo buckets should go into the compost piles...they need to be damp....make the right environment for the bugs doing the work.
You probably can't sell it. Human waste compost is banned or discouraged in many places because the risks aren't worth it. Obviously if it's dealt with properly there is zero risk, but totally pasteurizing manure isn't that simple and it's easy to cross contaminate it.
@@ratdoto2148 its all about the bugs...and patience i would be composting it 2+ years before i thought of using it and that would be with proper maintenance keeping it aerated moist and at the proper temperature for the beneficial microbes to flourish... also given the choice dong pits wouldnt be my preference as you say it can go into the fan at any time.... biogas dig esters would seem to be the better option here as there should be no dangerous microbes at the tail end of the process being a mostly dry solid which could easily be compacted and dried into a fuel keep the food waste compost for soil amendment and use the poo to make gas and charcoal
@@mobiousenigma I know it's totally doable and we have obviously done it for thousands of years, but these days a lot of places just won't let people take the risk. If it doesn't leave the property or contact produce that leaves the property, no issue.
The simplest thing I believe they should try is to make a shallow drop toilet, and just dig the oldest waste out from the bottom of it, allowing the rest of it to fall down in it's place, and then move it to another system to finish the process. By the time anyone contacts the waste, it's already at least partially composted. This is really no different to what they already have, but rather than falling into a tiny bucket, it falls into the first part of the system.
@@ratdoto2148 there not maintaining there bins the buckets are for the toilets i believe emptied weekly if i heard correctly. the good old outhouse but no one empties them they move the outhouse and cover the pit which is a problem so buckets to bins is better but they need to turn them for aeration check for moisture content and consolidate older piles while doing it theres no need to leave half full bins with non composting human and food waste there i grew up with a compost pile 2 bins this years and last with 6 mouths and 4 acers of lawn it worked well and turned clay into garden soil over the years. ;]
Also, worms.
Don't forget, the trailer tires will deflate. You should create a structure to maintain the floor level.
It's nice to learn with you.
That’s what I was going to mention. Better build supports and not count on the tires.
Y las patas metalicas tambien se hundiran en la tierra!
Watching the extention of the poo-palace I had the idea, you could use the branches of mimosa to create a kinda mesh or grid instead of the pallets…
Came here to say this.
I thought I saw some supports? Isn’t that what was being dug into the ground?
Man, you guys really need a chipper! 95% of those mimosa are the perfect size. Woodchip compost on its own is amazing, but is also great for humanure (instead of needing to use hay). Btw, check out the Humanure Handbook if you haven't already, your piles should be ready within 2 years max.
I was gonna say this!
Seconded. Also, chipping trees while they still have lots of leaves makes for a much better compost than dry wood alone (which you can use instead for mulch. And also for the poop.)
They have a tractor on order, and I hope they order a "Landscape Mulcher" attachment. They need to watch some mulching videos. Agreed that those mimosas are perfect size to chip instead of chop!
@@Nphen And maybe even experiment with Hugelkultur down by the stream?
For the buckets, clean them like bars clean glasses. Make a pallet base in an area that drains well. Put a sprinkler that shoots water up forcefully. Put the bucket on top, upside-down, and turn on the sprinkler. Have a rack of pallets beside to put the wet buckets to dry upside down.
Great idea, there is something similar we have in Mexico to reuse drinking water bottles of 20L. before a refill the refill station puts the 20L bottles upside down and a spraying system sprays the water with force in the bottle, gravity makes sure the water drips out.
That was exactly what came to my mind as well! Like a circle sprinkler and put the buckets upside down over it.
Those poo buckets also needs organic essential scents that breaks down. Lavender lemon limes oranges peels spray those dash buckets please 🙏
Exactly my idea! 🙂👍🏻
Yes. My first thought.
You should dig some holes under the trailer, fill them up with rocks and then put supports there, then let some air out of the tires. It saves the tires for if you ever need to move it again, and stops the trailer going out of level when the tires naturally deflate.
"It's not really a door for a house, it's more a door for a...... Fridge container" haha
That is fabulous truck driving skills!!
Not taking anything away from him but hes probably used to shunting trucks with no wheels left around a yard, backing up a trailer is driving a car to him
and they say Portuguese are bad drivers, well it used to be a statistic that Lisbon had the highest vehicular fatalities.
it is just a 1 axle trailer, only slightly bigger than car trailer. But no big deal to drive with if you have experience
Don’t forget to build an outdoor deck to surround the trailer for added space!
Why not just use the actual ground as outside space ?
I get that a deck is flat and can be build a bit higher if needed, but at the same time you're using up a lot of wood (that needs maintenance) to create "space" that is already there.
@@_MicZ_ 1. they have a lot of mimosa wood.
2. The entrance is already above ground
3. the rains make the ground difficult
4. it can be a social space with a view
5. I like decks to expand indoor living
Mimosa wood is terrible for building, it is incredibly weak.
Use the digger to move some earth and make a level terrace around it out of earth
@@jackiehoracek I would like to see a screened-in area built off of one of the structures, with pallets or a wood decking, for storing materials which need to be secured from weather and animal intrusions.
Love being introduced to new members episode by episode while we follow their projects!
Your community relationship with your neighbours always puts a smile on my face. Good people all!
Small ideas for the humanure:
- aeration to help the process: put a good bunch of branches in first, at the bottom of each slot.
- turn the compost, fill it higher to increase temperature, refill it after it settled.
- use gravity for turning the compost. You have an area with good slope. Start the process somewhere uphill and just push it downhill in steps, ideally with gates (movable pallet) in-between each step to open and close.
- loads of wood chips. (Get your chopper plz :D) use them _everywhere_ in thick layers to soak up leaching poop. walkways, around the pallets, washing the bins ...
Thank you. Yes. All of this. People are salivating for them to get a wood chipping or mulching attachment for their new tractor.
Homie drilling into his palm gave me the willies! Dont do that!
I thought the same thing!
I love everyone at Kamp but it’s soooo good to see an Indian face in the mix too! You go Prakriti 🇮🇳
i love the mix from people all over the world

To clean a bucket:
1) Buy a lid for the poo bucket and cut a small hole in the centre.
2) Put the lid on the bucket
3) Put the hose in the hole with a spray nozzle, so you can point the nozzle at all parts of the bucket without the water splashing out, or even onto your hand.
Do this near the poo-pallets, so you can empty the water onto the compost.
4) Screw a scrubbing brush onto a broom handle so you can scrub the insides of the bucket without having to get too close to it.
5) Put the bucket in a square 'bucket-holder' so it doesn't tip over when you're cleaning it.
That truck driver is a hero!
Also.. poop-palace-pallets
Carrying the tree looked like a big team exercise. :) Nice Project Kamp update thank y'all!
I cringed for the people wearing flip flops 😖
For cleaning the poop buckets you could look into a garden sprayer that rotates and building a small platform (really just a bracket) to put the bucket over it upside down, then it's a matter of turning on the sprayer for a few seconds and it'll do all the work. Would need to rinse off the sprayer afterwards, but that's still a lot cleaner than the current system
finally seeing someone from my country india 🇮🇳 prakriti proud of you girl 🎉
Quite a skillful truck driver, awesome job
That driver went out of his way to make it perfect, I would have giving him a $100 tip
💡 For the door. Remove all the stuff but keep the frame off the door. Frame it out with wood and add windows. The hinge is so smooth and strong and already on there so save it!
I came to say the same. You don’t know what to do with the side door… and you want a big window for the view… surely one is the solution to the other.
That is one experienced driver and a truck with amazing turning radius. Also, future is going to be just fine with folks and neighbors like yall!
That new fridgebox house is begging for a raised deck!
Agreeing with the cleaning with buckets like bar glasses, something that will flush water upwards in all directions and the dirty water can flow down to gardens with nutrients.
My opinion is that a "poo palet system" is ok for a maximum of 5 or 6 personns, but you are too numerous and you'll probably have to install a real septic tank, soon or late.
I think a tank needs official permission
I wonder if they could just add wheels to the outhouse and dig a fresh hole and slide it over.
Then youre wasting all the fertility of composting toilet. In a couple years it can be spread on a field and grow grain from it. You dont want to grow root crops in it tho 😅😅.
If it can work for 5 people, it can work for 50, you just have to scale up.
It seems to be working okay, other than the spraying the buckets bit, thats nasty
The thought of food grown from human faces manure is not very appealing ...
@@yvettekinchking8838 Full of heavy metals
"we're kinda used to the bright colours because of the trailer" 😂🎉
Hey Dave, a tip for your poo collection system, is to add hydrated lime in layers, just like the straw. Hydrated Lime is a very good treatment for the fecal matter in sewage, as it has been used for over a century for that purpose. It is fairly cheap, and can be bought in bags or bulk, but needs protection from rain. It also help eliminate odors. Give it a try.
An alternative that will turn you poop into garden gold is charcole. Make your own from the dead mimosa trees. Crush and add to the poop buckets. Research biochar and see what it can do for project camp!
@@Barbaralee1205 Thanks Barbara, I'm sure that is a good process, but look at the time involved in doing that? And it does not decay the sludge as fast as lime, nor control the smell as well. The lime is a better suited process for sewage treatment, and has been used for hundreds of years. I have spent over 45 years around the treatment process, and my dad longer than that, and it seems to be a go to treatment for decomposition and smell of sludge. Thanks for the idea anyway..
Burning mimosas to make charcoal may not be allowed in summer.
@@sadjaxx And burning emits a lot of heat, carbon, and smoke to the worksite, plus will they be burning dead trees or green trees.
@@sadjaxx well, do it in the winter then. Still a good use for all those trees and will enrich the soil. Research terra preta
It maybe could be an opportunity to install a greenhouse as an extension to the fridge box (with recycled glass windows?). This would create a (ideally temperature controlled environment) to germinate seedlings in a bit higher humidity, that later on after humidity training are introduced into the ecological systems that you want to design. Another interesting option would be to dig a well, if you want I can connect you to a video in which a company in portugal digs 120 meters deep into the earth to connect to water supply streams. Imagine what this can do. You could create a water irrigation system with 1000's of meters of pipes, feeding every vulnerable oak on your land. making it possible to on large scale reintroduce the chestnuts and other valuable species! And for all trees that you connect to the system, tremendously amplify its growth potential. Because repetitive water patterns to long term support plants, it allows the plant roots to connect to deeper water streams, making the ecosystem very resilient to extreme temperatures. Because roots of plants follow patterns. Keep on rocking, what you guys are doing all together is truly amazing. Much love for project Kamp!
Great idea.
ua-cam.com/video/xCeu_0ifTu4/v-deo.html
They could do a water ram pump off the waterfall to run water anywhere without drilling too.
Props that truck driver.
properly threaded the needle down that trail road
With those doors on the back of the fridge box, it would be really cool to make a mini patio/deck where the doors open up to the outside
That truck driver is a boss!
URGENT: a system with urine separation.
The job of cleaning the containers would be much less unpleasant. There would be no smell and you would not need to add straw to the composting system = less composting space too
In my region those Containers with their cooling units are often used as Cooling boxes for milk on farms, waiting for the Dairy truck to take it. Mostly the room is divided and in one half they put the milking system with all its technology and in the other half there is the barrel where the dairy truck can attach and pump off the cooled milk every two or three days. I already installed some photovoltaic systems on three of them to run the cooling unit for the barrel room with solar power.
Could you use wood chips from all the land clearance you did instead of hay as compost material?
The poo "palace" just looks like a dumping ground rather than actual composting. I think the bins should be enclosed, and the compost turned more than it appears to be currently. the temperature should also be checked(a long thermometer) to ensure there is enough heat to kill off the right pathogens, and then you can actually use that soil and not require building more pallet palaces.
Maybe also some rainwater collectors near the area to reduce the need for hauling buckets around to wash them. Not sure if the pallets are conducive to retaining enough heat for killing off what needs to be killed off either.
The big side doors can be use as "slide out entrance room". Open them to 80cm gap and put there standard house door. Add a roof, floor and the stairs will be parallel to long side of trailer. If you use glass doors, there will be also more light in interior without cutting new holes to sides. And of course it will increase inner space
If you had water near the poo palace you could use the bucket rinse poop water on the compost. The water will expedite the composting time and it will add more microorganisms.
Just want to let you know that the drone bits look amazing to understand where things are and they also look so cool! Following you since the very beginning and it keeps getting more interesting to follow, congratulations and keep on using the drone 😃
For spraying the buckets perhaps make a nozzle that points up in the air with a wide head sprayer, then with the valve shut place on a bucket over the nozzle, put a weight on the bucket like a stone or brick, then walk away a few metres and open the valve, water shoots up and cleans the inside of the bucket with all humans far away from any splashes
we use wood chip and charcoal fines for poo covering materials. Also fresh grass mowings is fine in the compost area. Make sure everyone uses enough damp shavings and charcoal to cover the poo in their compost toilet (bucket and chuck it system) then it doesn't smell
With this much people and with how often you all have to clean and touch the human manure m, I strongly suggest a septic system. You probably need two large septic system. In the outskirts of the property, a few compose toilet is okay. But this is too large for dealing with compost alone. If installed properly, it's hygienic and also let the bacteria decomposes waste properly to a drainage field. We are buying rural land and getting our septic system in 1500 gallons for 4 bedroom home. Sometimes city code is there for a reason. Also, those tires on the trailer will get damaged in the sun. Best get covers for them. Best to your community!
Oh I'd like to add that, you don't need a permit for septic tanks. Many people can install themselves. However, it's important to do a perc test for soil drainage and to consult with a local planner to make sure there's enough set backs from natural river/streams. It is possible to have an environmentally friendly septic system with yearly proper care.
I agree, they are going to create a pandemic like this not to mention following local environmental regulations about keeping exposed piles of fecal matter.
Think the reason they're not used much for building projects is that if a fire, or even the later building renovations, pierce the metal sheathing into the internal insulation, that insulating material is super flammable.
That being said, if you can put other building spaces/modules with fire resistant fascia, or a fire resistant fascia on the box itself, it sort of solves the problem. Good luck dudes.
Refrigerated boxes should also have proper insulation to keep them cool and anything that can be kept cool can also be kept warm when needed because insulation measures you do not need to mess with. I can align with this idea of reefer truck box enclosures as a starting base for a tiny home better than regular corrugated shipping containers.
gotta wonder if that truck would be a good early move to a new & bigger refrigerator unit
Hi prakrati i am from India too i regularly watch project kamp updates it was great to see another indian
Over time you have to deal with land subsidence beneath the trailer which mess levels, it's better to create concrete foundation under the stands, Lift one side, build foundations and then jack the other side, To secure them more you can bolt them as well!
The truck driver made it look easy. Impressive skills.
You could spray the buckets after pressure washing them with natural anti-bacterial essential oils mixed with water. Like tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil, etc. especially on the handles 😊🩵
The poop palace can be made oderless by simply adding soil. The naturally occurring microbes could help degrade poop and give out fertilizer that could be used for your permaculture projects. Glad to see a fellow Indian at the Kamp. ❤
Why not use recycled paper bags in the bins to collect the "solids"? It will be a slightly less messy process to dump the brown stuff into the poop palace. In addition, paper soaks up liquids and is compostable.
I always get thrown off when hark the herald angel (country edition) plays in these eps
It plays during the poop palace cleanup for anyone wondering
haha that Christmas song at 21:25 🌲🌲🌲
I heard that aswell once in royal David city 😊
I've seen way too many wood trucks traverse narrow mountain roads to be concerned _at all_ here. Road looks in good condition and it's not even wet. Truck drivers are pretty amazing with their vehicle control.
For bucket cleaning: make a scaled-up Beer Bottle cleaner, so you can overturn the buckets onto it and the spray and runoff go downward instead of into the air.
For the bucket cleaning, you need one of those things they clean glasses with at the bar, where you place the glass upside down and it sprays the inside out. Like that, except large, for buckets. Can make it out of a ring of plastic pex tubing with holes punched to spray outward at bucket sides.
Solution for the poop:
Dig a hole and put the toilet ontop of it. Every few months dig a new hole, move the toilet & cover the old hole. It will eliminate the buckets completely
They tried the hole idea before, they had problem with decomposition.
following project kamp last 2 years 1st time someone from India 😊😊😊
That driver was amazing and did an awesome job. Some guys wouldn't even try to get there. Top
should make a water tap at the poo palace and rinse the buckets over there, keeping it all over there.. only bringing back clean buckets.. more efficient all the way around
The best poop compost solution ive ever seen I think was from kirsten dirksen video a long time ago but basically the "throne" was sitting up high and the waste would drop down a slanted chute which had dividers in it. You can fill up the first section with waste and when its full you slide the first divider out so that the waste tumbles to the next section and then you put back the divider. The whole chute was closed off and you had little to no contact with fresh waste. The tumbling action helped to introduce oxygen and mix things up and the only waste that you actually had to come in contact with was all the way at the bottom of the chute after it had fully broken down. The main issue which is echoed by other commenters is that you arent mixing things or making sure the ratio of nitrogen to carbon to water to oxygen is correct so you end up with smelly bacteria. A waste deposit if left out uncovered will stop smelling after a day because the new environment for the anaerobic bacteria present is not ideal. What you want is an environment for aerobic bacteria which digest organic matter much quicker. They need oxygen and heat but not too much heat which can be reduced by introducing water and or mixing which is how you keep adding oxygen. A note when it comes to water is that liquid waste much more resembles the addition of high nitrogen material so it should not be considered as just water. A method to help with the smell in the short term is to use more carbon material when depositing waste. Doing so will make the decomposition take longer but the moisture and the smell will be absorbed faster.
driver of the truck was awesome. also, it's nice that you talk about poop problems, that's an important part of human living. and remember about the big dead tree, that it is important for biodiversity to let old rotten wood on the land (think of insects, fungi, lichens, small mammals, moss that can live there)
Opportunities for road maintenance and widening, especially around corners. Also need to create turnaround area access. For easy delivery of equipment and future homes. Grading and packing of the access roads to allow a variety of delivery equipment.
Not sure about the smell and composting breakdown of the poop gardens. The eyesore with the ever expanding pallet storage system. So close to base camp(s). Any foraging from wild animals scattering human waste? Impact of heat and humidity and breeze on smell. Or runoff during heavy rains?
For starters, separate solid from liquid in the latrine, in gray and black containers. Sort the solid as before. Dig a trench or use perforated pipe to slowly disperse the gray liquid waste urine underground. In time you will either build covered cesspits or underground containers for human waste. Especially with 30 to 60 people living there from spring to late fall.
Lots of rain water roof runoff to dilute the urine and later reuse for drip irrigation blended tea (orange peels, banana peels, rice grains, vinegar, brown sugar, soya beans, beer) . Slowly run through rock beds as natural filters. IBC, 275 gal, cost $200 - $900, dependingvon used, reconditioned, new. Septic tanks, 300 - 1500 gal (1100 L - 5700 L), $1100 - $3700
Here's what I would do with your new trailer home.... I'd get some jacks, put them under the box, unscrew the box from the metal beams, remove the metal beams ( use them as beams for a new house, sell them as scrap iron, etc), put some sort of solid foundation under the box and lower it on to the foundation. That way the climbing up the steps is minimized, you won't have to deal with the rubber wheels moving or rotting. Or at least cut away the wheel axle.
A tip for compost which I'm sure you would like to know is that if it smells its releasing methane. Anaerobic bacteria responsible for nasty smells are also the bacteria which release methane. Aerobic bacteria which break down organic material much faster do not smell and do not release methane. Aerobic bacteria need more assistance to thrive.
The guy who suggests making the "scarpetta" in the poop cans is definitely Italian. We always know how to stand out with creative proposals.
The holes in the chassis are because they've recycled part of another chassis to fill the gap, possibly a truck chassis cut. The delivery road looked a little sketchy on that hairpin, worth going up there with your digger and creating more room on the inside? ETA - no lubricants on the ladder rails? Some penetrating oil or even old oil or diesel works.

You guys seem to have a lot of fun.
Another great video. Nice to see new faces, but where's Rita? Now, regarding POO. you need a septic tank for human waste to flow into. You may be able to make one from an old box van! Make sure it has a liquid overflow which seeps into the soil; an air vent; and a way of emptying it. I would also consider having 4 toilets, now you have more Kampers, two for Ladies and two for Gents. I'm looking forward to seeing the new van body being adapted. It may be suitable for bunk beds. I hope you can get a volunteer who is experienced in using a digger, who can train other people how to use it. Hope you will keep records of people who have been trained., like you do with people who use chain saws. Best Wishes Pete (Manchester UK).
Hope to see more camps like this around the world. Absolutely love what you are creating with your camp!

What you could do for the toilets is have a shallow drop toilet with access to the bottom of it (some sort of removable side panel). The bottom would be the oldest waste which would have mostly turned to soil. You can shovel it out from the bottom and move it to another compost system to finish the process. This is essentially what you already have, except instead of moving the waste to the pallet system in those horrible buckets, it drops into one of it's sections to begin with and by the time anyone has to touch it, it's already at least partially turned into soil. Safer and more tolerable.
Making a wand extension for the hose, to keep the water from splashing back on those washing, would be a good start. It can be made out of PVC pipe and bits, to make the length best for the purpose. I would make it to desired lenth,, than a 90 degree angle with another length just 2 to 3 inches longer than the depth of the bucket, than capped with holes drilled on sides and bottom, so water sprays washing sides and bottom of bucket at the same time.. there could olso be added a soap pick up in the first length if desired.
Poo compost- I know no one wants to continue handling it but should atleast be turned. Fill first poo castle, week two shovel week 1 into second space. Adding leafy green material and mulch/hay with each turn will increase how quickly it finishes composting. I would also say if you topped it with soil and put food scraps into it, WORMS would turn it.
When a digger comes, you can dig a hole where the poop pallets are situated and then install a proper toilet and bathroom using recycled materials.
Its a very very good idea to build up foundations, I'd say four under the box to take the strain off the tyres, which will most definitely deflate, crush and ossify the rubber after the volatiles' are lost from daily heating and cooling. The stand legs do a good job, but should be on a firm base (concrete pad or a steel plate) and raised perhaps only 2-4 cm. Easy job to do with a car jack, shovel, 12 bricks, and a plate ---> My tyres rotted after only about 4 years on the land here in Australia. Result - slumping box shed, ruined tyres.
it would be cool to have a hammock room for everyone to 'hang out' in. just thinking of a use for those sturdy rails on the walls.
Was such a delight to see Prakriti!
If the tires in the new house loose air, it will get unbalanced or not leveled. did you have that occur in the rainbow trailer?
Wow, that truck you all restored is really working out spectacularly! ❤ good job on the poop palace!
7:12 NOT THE SOUNDEFFECT 😂😂😂
For composting toilets, the best system I saw is a poop tower. You build a mound/tower, atop which you have your toilet. If there's an angle, the poop slowly tumble, and naturally becomes compost after 3 years. Plan the volume according to your use.

Hello prakiti it's so good to see someone from india is finally joining project kamp. Hopefully many more will join. Love from kolkata❤
How about a large old bath tub, sunk into the ground, with a drain pipe directed to where you want the waste water to go for cleaning the poop buckets.
When you get your digger, dig several deep pits for poop creat mobile outhouse for them and when they are almost full move the outhouse to the next hole, then back fill the old hole.
With this option still use the hay to compost it. Dig a long hole and hook the toilet to a very long wench.
Traditional outhouses are not beneficial to the land and it will leech into the ground water. It takes much longer to break down as it is buried. In their environment, the way they are composting it, it takes about a year or less to break down because worms, beatles, and bacteria help.
handling the poop is very labor intensive.
when the digger comes, have a look at "terra preta".... organic matter + ask/charcoal
basically dig hole, move toilet over it... keep it there for a few weeks, add some more charcoal /ash/layer of dirt and repeat. in a couple of years that place will be very fertile
I've been watching your videos since the first season and I was waiting for someone from India and now there she is 😊.

It seems to me that with all the engineers that come to kamp someone would devise a system for washing poo buckets. Like a rotating pressurized nozzle that you can set the bucket over and have it cleaned and rinsed. The water can run into a pit.
Not sure if it's useful, but I learned a trick for washing glasses and that's to hold them upside down and spray up, so that the dirty water always drains immediately, and the clean water gets more access sooner. So you could rig something up with a hose sprayer that is mounted upwards, and put the bins over it, upside down. You'd need to do it in a place where the poopy water could just drains where it falls, though.
