- In this video I go into the mythology behind the Notorious Loki Laufeyson, and what he represents to me both personally as a new Norse pagan, and as a general archetypal figure. I also discuss how & why I decided to incorporate him into my daily practices along with Odin, and my views on his relationship to Odin.

Not even a minute in as I'm watching this, I thought I felt someone hug me from behind before a hand caressed my back. It wasn't quite a chill, but kind of like a lukewarm touch. It almost felt tender, like I feel calm. It's been coming and going all throughout. And now, the temperature in my apartment suddenly dropped and my hands feel like ice... and it's 75 degrees outside.
I've been interested in Loki recently. I feel that I identify with him as he's so misunderstood. He's not really a bad guy, but other people paint him as one, and I hate that for him. I don't know if that was him reaching out to me, but... I definitely feel some presence with me.
Loki came to me today trying to reach a friend then cake back and was like "I wanna work with you" now he has me researching him because I didnt know who he was
Loki and spiders holy shit he Knows they creep me out. I've had the misfortune of being bit by a brown recluse twice. I think once as a child Loki tried to make contact as a spider. The damn thing was huge to my six or seven year old self and it kept following me as I scooted backward across the living room in terror and climbed up on the couch. Thinking back I'm 99% sure Loki was my "imaginary" friend as a kid. I think he was like let's see if the baby witch is ready to meet me. Bad approach dude bad approach.
I think there are many of us who seem to have had a suspiciously similar imaginary friend as a kid! ;)
I'm a psychonaut and I've been looking into info about Loki because I had been haunted by shadow ether spiders when tripping on drugs so then started working with Arachne Sepheranz, but after awhile there were less spiders and more Serpents, although recently saw large shadow ether spiders again, and then during the eclipse an astrologer posted that people should work with Rahu about the eclipse and that Loki is Norse Rahu, which I at first objected to but he said Rahu and Loki are both associated with spiders, and I'm living on my Rahu astro-line at the moment. When I started your video I paused it for a moment and was think-talking "something something hopefully" then as I thought the word 'hopefully' I unpaused the video and you immediately said the same word. As for Loki being half Jotunn, that's an odd thing, but my impression is that Jotnar/ Titans, and Aesir/ Gods, are more of a tribal political distinction from the Chaoskampf not an essential blood difference. And another thing is most spider deities are female, although in TES lore Mephala is called the androgyne, (despite usually appearing female) and I thought that's interesting how Loki is probably the most androgynous Norse god, consider what he did with a horse and his shapeshifting. I do think Loki is probably Lucifer, however I heard the fire etymology is most likely false, so it's not very clear.
Loki likes to send me spiders as well, but he also likes to take my things and replace them in random places around the house for me to find months later. He also fucks with my electronics sometimes when he wants attention lol. But the spiders I usually don’t mind. I usually just pick them up and bring them outside or something.
This is by far the best video I’ve found on Loki and working with him. Thanks for doing such a wonderful job! Loki came into my life in a pretty similar way, and I felt a little apprehensive about it at first too. But once j felt his energy, I could feel that he was playful, but not malicious, I let him in, and he’s been one of the most helpful deities I’m working with. I’m also really glad you mentioned the connection between him and coyotes; I’ve seen a lot of them recently, and they even went as far as marking (by which I mean urinating on and scratching around the yard of) the front house of the lot that I live on. I thought that was interesting just when I was thinking of it as animals doing it (and my dog now has something super fascinating to sniff every time I walk her) but it makes so much sense that Loki would be marking this property! I’m just glad he’s showing up as coyotes and not spiders, I don’t envy you there! I actually feel a lot of paternal energy from him, is that something you’ve ever noticed? I feel like you have so much of a better, more accurate handle on him than anyone else I’ve heard talk about him, so this was really interesting! I’m also extremely shy, anxious and not the “kind” of person I would expect Loki to be drawn to, so I don’t know… maybe there’s something about us that’s appealing to him. Many forget Loki is also a parent, not just a father but a mother of Sleipnir as well. I think its part of why he helps so much with healing the inner child
Very cool video! I had a place in my house for Loki and Hel. Odin and others have a different spot. Odin came very strong last week so I was following him. Then Loki came super strong too .Odin gave permission and I checked out Loki for a full day. He was there, started to heal me , and was excellent. His energy is very interesting and I’m going with the flow now. I see also how he can show us how ,”we can bring chaos in our life if we want.” Ready to see what happens! Thanks!

Love the Ghostbusters reference at the end there 😅 I feel like we are kindred spirits. I am 46 now. I too have struggled with anxiety disorder and arachnaphobia my whole life. These are also reasons why I have avoided working with Loki up until now. I too work with many dieties across many pantheons and cultures and I love them all. I also work with Odin, Freya and Thor. And now, like you said, Loki has been showing up like 'hey what about me 👋 " lol. I even came home to a spider 🕷 on my garage door yesterday and it is December 4th! I live in the Northern USA. And I have had him show up in dreams and meditations and beyond all the lore and he's a trickster god and all that, it's a very warm loving energy I feel. I knew he wanted to help me release fears, trauma and self limiting beliefs, and to be comfortable with change and to 'know thyself.' So just thank you so much for this video. Which, incidentally, just happened to pop up in my feed after I asked Loki for a sign 😉 I never even searched any videos on him at all, you just appeared 😉 so thank you so much for sharing your experiences. .. I'm sort of suspicious he's watched me for years. I've had a couple big blow outs with friends, but each one, I saw spiders.. I didn't think too much about Loki until I was frozen the other night. Went to bed really late, so I just tried to wipe my mind and fall asleep, and like, nope. Straight to the astral realm. I was awake, and yet, in a foggy dream. Like. I was somewhere completely else, and yet connected/in my body. I was fully aware of me being in this realm and in my bed at the same time. He then appeared, as a pair of nice black dress shoes and pants. I was on the ground, arms tied behind my back, and I try to rise as he is talking to me, but I stumble. When I get a chance to glance up he's smirking, he definitely chuckled, and like. I see Tom Hiddlestons face while he speaks gibberish at me. I can't make sense of it, he switches back to English, but, by then I was trippin', trying to get out of the trance n' back to my bed. I've BARELY started looking into Witchcraft and I feel like he just chose me lmao, and at that point it was a little too intense for me. Next time I'mma try to chat him up, and not be such a sissy. XD;

My path was interesting, in that I was interested in shamanism and had no intention to get into norse paganism, but impulsively reached out to a random shaman in fb, mainly because he was also trans I think. He happened to work with Loki and somehow I found my way to Raven Kaledra's writing and it was like I had found my home. Loki just showed up in my living room few months later (almost 5 years ago) and I have been stuck with him since :D

I also associate Loki with spiders and this is why: I have been reading a lot about him (and Odin) and his name pops up in my mind whenever I suddenly lose grip and drop things I am holding: an open box of matches, a bag of crisps, cutlery... I very often see spiders, but I never took that for a sign of Loki, partly because I like them and partly because I see them all the time, so, no big deal. Then, two nights ago, I had this curious dream of a messy room with clothes scattered everywhere and furniture placed at odd angles. Then I saw this thin man, not too old, normal looking, standing in front of me and telling me: "hi, come here and have a look!" He was friendly and I was curious so I came closer and he pointed at a white cushion with a tiny black spider resting on top of it, right in the middle. I first mistook it for an ant but then the man said, "You can clearly see it is a spider if you PAY ATTENTION" he didn't shout, he just pronounced the words very clearly. So, yep. He made sure I would pay attention next time I saw a spider because it might be a sign he wanted my attention.

Loki came to me two weeks ago. I was in a very annoying situation, where a guy I live with decided to physically remove me from a chair I was sitting on. I was very shaken up by it, basically left and went to my mother's house for the weekend. On Saturday night that weekend, I had a sudden obsession with Marvel Loki. I've always liked him but wasn't full blown ready to defend him.
The next morning, I awoke from a dream about Loki. I can't remember what happened in the dream.
I went to go get up and heard "you need sleep"
I talked to my friend about it and she's just like "I'm glad he's one of the ones protecting you"
Now I'm researching Loki like crazy and call myself a Lokean, because he deserves my honour/worship/phrase
Before I tell you something about LOKI, I want you to know that he sought me out, thru my daughter. LOKI says he is my Patron Diety & that I need spiritual healing, but I am not sure exactly what he means by that. I only know that many times I have lost everything &/or what was most or extremely important to me, for no fault of my own, the 1st time I was a preteen (faith in my father's love for what he said,) the next time I was a teen, & so on to the present. Anyways, at first, I was dubious, & before I accepted him, & knowing him to be honest, & will not lie, I asked him to promise not to send an spiders, which he did. BTW, there are birds that just love to eat bugs & spiders, my fav of these is the Cactus Wren, who also love chopped walnuts, & peanuts, mealworms, & some bird seed, but none with shells, a little bread, crumbled, & a shallow, 1" deep dish of water, so you might look into attracting them to your yard.
Now about LOKI, I have no other deities in my like, except LOKI, & he's very frank with me, which I told him on day one, is very important to me.
THE FIRST THING he told me is that he prefers to known as rhe God of Mischeif, & does not like being called, or referred to as a Trickster. Like me, Loki Connives & Schemes to get things done. This is excatly the way my mom described me, always conniving & scheming, but not to do bad things, but rather searching for ways to complete a task, correct a wrong, or make something work by being innovative. To point out a particular person, actually a character, it would be MacGyver, & I am speaking about the tv series in the 80s, not the remakes, which I do not care to see. An evil character who is famous for his Conniving & Scheming would be J.R. Ewing (80s, & his brat John Ross 2012 & 13.) This is Not LOKIs style, nor his methods; he's the MacGyver kind, like me.
I didn't see this video before our conversation on WoO Discord. From now on I will watch all your videos first LOL! What you said makes a lot of sense when it comes to his parentage. Great stuff! Very informative!!!!! I see Loki's role as being the "lesson bringer" and the web weaver. In a way, he kind of reminds me of a "fixer", like our politicians need when they screw something up royally and need to spin the story. He is insanely clever and wise. I am still reading up on him and haven't formed an opinion about him. Thank you for sharing what you know!

It's funny how you talked about Loki and Odin going together because I recently made an altar for Loki and I put some candles for him weirdly there are these two candles who only completely burn when they're burnt together. I feel it could be like an Odin candle but I'm not sure.
Still Loki is an amazing deity to work with
Its funny you should mention seeing spiders after choosing your deity. I had a similar experience only I chose Loki from the start because I had never seen him as the devil others made him out to be. The day after I set up a small altar for Loki I was was going to take my evening walk so I went around the side of the house and there were two large spiders clinging to the siding under my bedroom window. I just get the feeling Loki is protecting me.

Loki is blamed for the death of Balder. This is why many pagans don’t hail to him. Odin himself welcomed Loki even after this. Loki is revered as a trickster and a small problem.. but he was the key being in controlling the balance. He has virtues of each of the gods. He’s intelligent 2nd only to Odin. He’s a warrior comparable to Thor and he exacted justice to Thor and Odin by creating Fenrir and Jormungandr. TYR is the god of justice.. He also feels love as Freya.

I already worship all loki his kids so yeah i hear him asking for attention aswell, like yo if ya like them ya must probably also like me. And honestly all my life i have been friends with people who have adhd who get me in ''trouble'' / adventures since i have autism and im verry held back myself so maby i should start working with him because honnestly i totaly sometimes need someone to take me out of my comfert zone.

I had no intention of ever being norse pagan but then Loki hit and boy the signs were there actually he's my first norse god i havent done anything with him but got a statue first time ive ever gotten an actual statue for a god.

I’m following the left hand path . I’ve closely identified with the term of theistic satanism . Loki has come out nowhere. I’m clairaudient and he’s so very chatty . I love it and am grateful for him calling me… I’m just so confused at the background . I’m a satanist . I’m being called by a norse pagan deity ? Curious what you think of this .

Personally I see Loki sharing some aspects of Lucifer the light bringer and rebel against the cosmic order. I can't say I know much about the left hand path but if I had to place Loki anywhere it would be chaotic neutral. He definitely operates outside the norms & prompts us to do the same.

I tried ignoring his help because of my mental health, kept getting messed with and by the end of the week, I said some choice words in my head and had a shit ass attitude. One night i decided to get in the bath to relax. Yeah, well I ended up dropping my phone in the tub, and had to get a new one later on in the week because of it shorting it out. Then after my bath, I always shower because i feel gross. So I started getting my cloth wet and soapy, then get stabbed by a fucking sewing needle stuck in the cloth. Needless to say, I'm getting my shit together

I didn't have THAT many spiders around, but I had a good couple living in my window. I hated them, they freaked me out, and as soon as I got them out, about a day or two later there was another spider chilling in my window. I saw them everywhere outside. My stuff constantly goes missing, and it takes forever to find it again because my room is kind of a mess. I think the spiders might be a seasonal thing and not a Loki thing, though, because once winter started up, they stopped.
The Pros Edda was also writing to taint Norse Paganism. If anyone does read these don’t let it lead you astray. Christian faith is all over his pages.

I still think it's foolish to work with Loki, Chaos isn't always negative but spiritually he can mess you up. You do you but it's not wise. He might find it hilarious to fuck your life up. If Tyr or Thor is gonna fuck you up they atleast have a lesson in it for you.
