    Hi Sam I've only recently found you. I've watched hundreds of lawn care videos and subscribe to a few I like. I love your " it may work it may not work, but its only a lawn " attitude and without doubt your the most entertaining. I've subscribed of course. Keep the videos coming.

      Hey Mate, love this comment, really appreciate it 🙏
      I say that a lot, it's just a lawn, it's just grass, not the end of the world :)
      Thank you very much for the support!

    Hi Sam, great videos and I'm loving your 'not the end of the world' attitude, it's a great thing to not stress as after all, like you say it's just grass! Another method is to grow some spare grass in pots at the side of your house. Then, if you have any accidents like that again you can just transplant the already grown grass from pot to lawn 🙂
    Please keep up these great entertaining videos.
    Cheers

      Hey Mick, thanks a lot mate, appreciate it! Really do think it's fun and I love having a great looking lawn, but it is just grass, need to have fun with it, otherwise there is no point. I did that a couple of times, might do it again in larger pots since the grass ran out really quickly :)
      Thanks again Mick.

    As long the root contacts the soil it will grow.

    That worked very nice !
    If you want next time," get 2 of the buckets you used. drill holes in the bottom of one of the buckets. Now put a paint strainer in the bucket with holes. Then put the bucket with the holes, and the paint strainer inside the other bucket. put your seed in the paint strainer, now fill with water. When the seed is soaked lift the bucket with the holes and paint strainer and seed out of the other one. this will bring the excess water out, Do this every 24 hours for a few days, when you see white puffs in the seed its time to throw it down with some organic frert.

      Hey Richard, sounds interesting, I've seen some videos where they pre germinated with only warm water. I want to that too, thanks for the description, think I'll try that method next time too, see if it's faster maybe.

    Wow, never thought about such an idea. Blue grass always gives problem of washout but with with this method, it’d be easy to work with slow germination grass seeds. You should patent the idea 👍.

      Good thing you mentioned Blugrass Amit, it workes extremely well with that, I mean you saw the Rye in the bucket, it started growing soooo fast. But with bluegrass, that 21 days germination time takes forever to do when its colder outside. Thanks for watching the vids dude, really appreciate it 🙏

      Hi, glad you found value in the video, I always repair spots like this, just makes keeping the soil moist so much easier. Path of least resistance or plain laziness maybe :D

      Hey Matthew, was thinking about doing it but decided to just seed both areas right away. Let me know how your turns out :)

    Very honest too.
    Here people put a very small amount of gypsum on dog urine spots, it is supposed to counter act the salt....I have no experience with doing it.
    Your snow Insta the day after your last video was a shock!

      Thanks Wayne, never heard of gypsum, need to look it up, sounds interesting! Yeah, that snow really was a kick in the nuts haha, the weather mocking me :D

    Just wanted some of your videos. Love your approach. Very accessible.
    Can you talk about meadow grass or weed grass? I'm UK, I assume you still have these issues in Sweden.

    • @SamsLawn
      @SamsLawn  2 роки тому

      Hey mate, thanks alot, appreciate the kind words! I will get into more weed grasses this year, haven't been able to talk that much about it since I don't have that much weed in my own lawn. But I will have a project lawn this year that is FULL of weeds, so we will get into more weed talk soon :)

    Once the seeds have been germinated and are on the ground, do you still need to water it frequently or can you just leave it to grow? Thanks for a great channel!

    • @SamsLawn
      @SamsLawn  Рік тому +1

      Hey mate, you still need to keep it moist until the grass is actually coming up, then you can draw back on the watering a bit. But this way you still save yourself a lot of watering time :)
      Thanks for the support, appreciate it 🙏

  • @jessewood3999

    Try a dormant seeding. Throw what you have out there and next spring most of it should germinate

    • @SamsLawn
      @SamsLawn  2 роки тому

      Hey Jesse, I was thinking about doing that if this failed, maybe I should have done both to see the difference.

    I spilt some fertiliser on my lawn too, did yours grow back after seeding? The fertiliser hasn't burned the soil for good has it? Did you get good recovery?

    • @SamsLawn
      @SamsLawn  Рік тому +1

      Hey Graham, it did grow back, the grass that burns won't grow back but if you overseed/reseed it you will be fine, no worries mate.

  • @Ray_ray11

    I did some repairs here in Scotland a few weeks ago and nothing is germinating, even though the temperature is +10c.

    • @SamsLawn
      @SamsLawn  2 роки тому

      Hey Ray, it's not?? even with 10+?? sounds strange, i felt like that before I pre germinated like i did in the video, felt like it took forever, especially if you have alot of KBG and creeping red fescue, they take forever when it's warm outside, so I would really recommend pre germinating them when colder. Try it out, hope it works out. Let me know if you do :)
