The fact that the Titans went from 2-4 to the AFC Championship is very impressive if Tannehill is able to play like he did last season and Derrick Henry continues to dominate defensives and AJ Brown being a beast the Titans are gonna be a tough team to beat next season

@@mrooferloofer5211 true. That was the last game the Chiefs lost, and it was still a game where Patrick Mahomes threw for over 400+ yards. It was also Mahomes' first game back from injury.
I'm a Titans fan from Calgary, Canada, and I frickin lost it when the Titans got that touchdown and won it with the blocked field goal. That was the game that truly turned me into a Titans fan.
It's because as a little kid his hands were too small to hold the ball. The only way he could hold it was like holding a platter; that's why he throws that way.
Why are people trying to figure out what game sparked the “titans run”. As far as I can tell there is no “run”, the titans have been about the 5th-7th best AFC team over the last 4 years. The Titans have been legit since 2016, the only reason the Titans missed the playoffs in 16 and 18 was Mariota got hurt both years. The titans have been a playoff caliber team for 4 years now, they also have owned the Chiefs over that time period including a Derrick Henry fueled playoff comeback win in 2017. Henry’s performances in the 2019 playoffs were not surprising, nor was the fact that the Titans were in the playoffs. What was surprising was the Titans being able to lock down the win in Foxboro and Camden Yards.
When they talk about the Titans run, they're talking about how the Titans went from 2-4 and looking pretty bad to making the playoffs and beating two of the best teams in the AFC. That's the run they're talking abou.
mistshrike yt the point is that they never were as bad as their record indicated. They always seem to get off to a bad start, usually because the Titans have a hard time retaining assistant coaches. The qb change I don’t think was a huge change in terms of play but I do think it sort of refocused the team, certainly it sent a message that anyone can be benched. This was similar to the year before, when they also got off to a slow start and Vrabel benched Henry, like he did to Mariota the next year, then when Henry got the starting role back a few weeks later both he and the team regained their form, they ended up missing the playoffs after Mariota got hurt and missed a must-win game in week 17. I think the titans made a mistake by paying tannehill, but then again it’s hard to find someone who would be better
The fact that the Titans went from 2-4 to the AFC Championship is very impressive if Tannehill is able to play well like he did last season in general to dominate the plays of the year.
This shows how bad Miami has been. Tannenhill is actually a pretty good qb and Miami just couldn't build around him. He comes to the Titans and was a big part in turning their season around. He had better year's stat wise a few years ago in Miami but this past season tannenhill just more accurate and just better overall with a 117 qb rating. It also shows Titans offense works better with a pocket passer like tannenhill vs mariota
Detroit had 11 seconds left in 2017 against the Falcons, no timeouts but they didn't get to snap the ball at 1 second based on their 10 second run off. BS
What if they stopped the clock thinking it was a fumble recovered by defense, but after reviewing, they find out that it was recovered by the offense? Or, what if they throw a flag, but then pick it up. The clock would stop on a tackle within bounds situation. The offense has no timeouts remaining. Isn't that a 10 seconds runoff situation? But, there's only seven seconds remaining on the clock. 2:14:50 That was what Ian Eagle was asking to the rules analyst, but he never answered that question.

The Arthur Smith/Kubiak/Shan system turned things around about Play Action. 20-50 years ago, Play Action was a 'constraint' play, meant to force Defenses to play 'honest' and not rush the gaps. The point was the run was supposed to be the bread and butter that would work if defenses didn't bunch up rush the gaps before the handoff. NOW; the RUN GAME is the constraint to force defenses out of playing pass, doing blitzes, stunts, disguised coverages, and ignoring the gaps. So your Play Action bombs will work, your real bread and butter.
