Yay! I love Kato! If I did eventing, I’d have bought him in a heartbeat. If I was even still doing showjumping, I would have loved to have him. Alas, at the ripe old age of 47, after having a 6 year hiatus from riding, I’m just focusing on the hunter and equitation over fences classes for now (yes, I’m in the U.S.). However, as I’m getting my fitness and confidence back, I’m finding myself wanting to get back into the Showjumping world as well. So I imagine that within the next two years, I’ll be back competing in all of the three jumping disciplines we have in the USA. I can’t wait! Lovely to see the big man again. I have missed seeing him on your channel for sure ❤

Gosh looking at your poor fields I don’t envy your British winters!! I’m not even looking forward to my New Zealand winter 😵💫😅 Would love to see some more exercises you do with the big fella compared to greener horses like Erol, different exercises for balance and rhythm to help them work over their back especially! My mum’s mare is green still and struggles with bending and focus so it would be super helpful to have something else in my back pocket to refer to when I’m bored of the same old exercises 🙌

Timing is everything Ashley, back from a long hospital stay (pneumonia) and this has made my Sunday, thank you so much for sharing Kato's visit, oh how I love this lad, he is such a talented horse, and you made his pole work look effortless. Thrilled that Kato and his new owner have gelled so well, music to my ears. Best medicine for me tonight that's for sure. I have a few more vids to catch up on and will do so over the coming days. Enjoy some more lovely hacks with Kato though won't you. Thanks again Ashley for sharing.

Cause spurs are not for torture. Simple as for the whip.

I would never think you would torture your horses your very loving towards them.
And spurs are for slight direction for the horse to tell him what you want from him.
I am aware of that . I’m really wondering
Why the whip. What part of training does it help with? I have ridden hunt seat and had lessons too and we used leg pressure
And reigns to direct the movement of the
Horse. You ride so beautifully and seem in great control and you love your horses
You can see why I ask. 😃💖😊
