I heard this lovely song by EmpathP a couple months ago and noticed that there were already a few covers up, so I wanted to provide a different presentation. So me loving sad emotional orchestral music, I decided to recreate the song with a slightly different interpretation of the piece- to capture the haunting side of Undertale as well.
Thanks to my duet partner Iggy for working on this project with me! It was a ton of fun!

I was still sad over the fact FlowerFell was discontinued because people keep thinking it was a Frans AU- *BUT IT'S LITERALLY ALL ABOUT KINDNESS, EVEN SANEI THEMSELF SAID THAT*

JUST WANNA SAY TO MAKE PEOPLE FEEL BETTER: i saw a flowerfell movie, and at one part, frisk makes a wish for sans and flowey to both be happy. Later, after she dies, sans becomes depressed, and just stays in snowdin, but flowey remembers the wish. He goes to get sans, and then sans and flowey go to frisk's grave. They use that wish somehow (i think with her locket, i cant remember) and sans passes out. He wakes up, and realizes FRISK IS ALIVE!!!!
The moment you realize the dead flower's Frisk as her reflection is replaced by a flower, in the song she's referring to herself dead.. Sans is mourning, as he imagines Frisk in his side again. Sad. ;w;
In my opinion, Flowerfell is the most heart breaking AU.

Oh god same.. it’s mainly the “don’t leave me” part tho.
That line really shows how close he’s grown to Frisk (and how attached he’s become) and that he’s desperate for Frisk to stay by his side (the song “the art of learning to choose” is also a really sad one.)
Actually for those people who are confused of the pic is that:
Sans and Frisk (that you can mainly see in the vid) are clearly having good times while Frisk was still alive
But the reflection shows what happens in the future that Frisk dies and leaving Sans regretting of not able to save her and fell in depression....the flower on the water near Sans' reflection might be one of Frisk's flowers :3

SPOILER ALERTIt's not meant to represent Undertale,; it's flowerfell. Flowerfell is underfell (edgey undertale) where every time Frisk dies, they get flowers somewhere on there body. Eventually she gets so many flowers that she gets blind. Check out the story "Overgrowth" Catie Lou does an awesome dramatic reading of it on UA-cam.

Funfact!
Flowerfell was never a Frans a.u, it was actually ment to be a father/child relationship but the Frans shippers over ran it with the ship.
The creator does not ship it due to Frisk being a child and Sans being an adult, it was ment to show that strong bonds can be formed in a father child manner with a person who isn't biologically related to that person, that family doesn't have to biological and can always be chosen when it's the right person.
In this case Sans providing a fatherly safe place for Frisk.
The creator was very uncomfortable with people making this a romantic relationship.

Yep, it isn't a Frans au, but in this au Frisk is 18+ so the creator said that they're friends, not father and child
I actually never thought it was a Frans AU, I haven't played the game but basing from the animations, because it never really struck me like its some sort of romance. It's like- for the lack of better term, purely platonic. The lyrics gave it away for the most part too. I guess that's how it is to some others or that's how those some wanted to believe. Anyways, I'm not judging. This is a great song and great story. I might look into a gameplay Flowerfell now, I'm curious xD

I know most people interpreted the original Flowerfell series as a Frans fanfiction, but I don't know, I didn't? I just found it extremely wholesome and teared up when it ended. Either way, this song is amazing

well..if you know Undertale is an RPG game (Roleplay game),Isn't that right? Well I guess that's why AU's exist .basically..RPG is that you become the character which means where you can also enter or imagine the story that you think and put into the character of the game..That's where, the game gives you options like "you want to choose the character canon or the story you made yourself (Fanon/AU)".So, I guess it's obvious isn't it?.For that I think every Fandom is like that too so it's not just Undertale okay..
The actual Flowerfell AU wasn't actually a Frans thing. Shippers simply overflood it after misinterpreted the entire AU. The actual Flowerfell relationship with Frisk and Sans is actually a *Father and Daughter* relationship. Frisk is a child in this AU while Sans is an Adult and he treats Frisk as such as a daughter, not a lover.
This is freaking amazing. How does this not have more views.

In my opinion both Flowerfell and The Secret Garden are good.
I must be honest, I don't like most versions of this song. The only one I really cared for was jayne/djsmell. And then this came along. I'm not sure about the strange echo/whispery line randomly part way through it, but the rest is stunning. Most covers do not have what I consider to be the right style of voice for this song but you two honestly nailed it. Frisk was powerful and emotional but by no means whiny or overbearing like some, and Sans was smooth and clear, with no strain in his voice at any of the notes like other covers. Very few Sans vocalists seem to be able to nail the kind of voice you used here without making it sound like they're struggling, but you did it. Honestly (from a very harsh critic) one of the BEST cover versions of this song. You rearranged, you made it your own, and it's truly fantastic. Well done guys, much respect, I adore your version!

As an aside, I don't feel sans gets enough love or attention in this song usually, you really give him a moment to shine in the last chorus before ending on that wonderful 'dead'. Just more praise I felt I had to share
Trisha Chao Do you mean the rayani lima one? I've watched several "chorus" or "multiple voice" covers and to be honest I don't really care for any of them. They just sound confused and chaotic since they've been forcibly mashed together. That's just my opinion of course, but I don't find them enjoyable to listen to at all. Agreed, and even if you're not a Frans shipper the song could also be platonic since Frisk called Sans their friend in the song. A song can have more than one interpretation after all.
well..if you know Undertale is an RPG game (Roleplay game),Isn't that right? Well I guess that's why AU's exist .basically..RPG is that you become the character which means where you can also enter or imagine the story that you think and put into the character of the game..That's where, the game gives you options like "you want to choose the character canon or the story you made yourself (Fanon/AU)".So, I guess it's obvious isn't it?

This is just perfect. Like, really REALLY perfect. You were able to make this sadder than I ever found possible. Made it beautiful in every sense, but also got that haunting side of undertale into this. The Dead in the end made it worthwhile. I can't see how ANYONE can dislike a masterpiece as great as this.
PS: I bet all those dislikes were David's mom it's TOO sad and made her cry. Now she wants to protect kids from your song. #StopDavidsMom

It's not Frans... the fandom tried to force the creator to make it frans, in the end the au got abandoned and the creator has not been seen since.
Every so often this song pops into my head and I'm launched back into my UnderTale highschool era. This is such a beautiful cover and it's full of wonderful nostalgia every time I think about it. Thank you for all the work you put into this

I don't care this is a sad song and that I'm in the verge of tears, but I'd love this to play in my wedding (if I ever get married, of course) because it represents a kind of affection that is born out of watching the acts of kindness of one, and that itself made the other actually want to change for good.
This is so heart-touching, and just amazing in every single way, I love how both voices complement each other and those little tone changes.

To be honest this is my favorite version of this song. I can't even count how many times i have re listened to it. Y'all did a phenomenal job on this song. Never knew FlowerFell is not meant for a FRANS au until now. Honestly, I could really see this as a father and child relationship. It felt even more sadder with the father figure having to face the death of his beloved child while the child accepts their own death. It definitely gives a more beautiful picture than what it used to be interpreted as by the fandom.
