Ivar is the best character of all the brothers I like Bjorne but his character reminds me of how Deku is hindered by his admiration of all might. Bjorne I feel like he tries too hard to portray an image similar to his father he even has some of the same mannerisms. Ivar has ragnars intelligence but is his own man.
Each of Ragnar's sons are meant to represent a piece of his greatness and his shortcomings. Bjorn is his strength and spirit as a warrior but also his stubborness. Ivar is his startegic mastery, but also his irrationality. Ubbe is his adventuring spirit, but also his self-doubt. Hvitserk is his actual fighting skill, but also his inhibitions (sex and drug addictions are shared by both characters). Sigurd is his confidence, but also his incompetence.
The writers of this show deserve credit for how well they put that together where each son has a great piece of Ragnar, and a bad piece of Ragnar. When Ragnar confronts the people about who wants to be king he goes to Hvitserk first. Because while Bjorn had the strength and the spirit, it was always clearly Hvitserk who was the most technically skilled in combat. Bjorn just overpowered people in battle.
The argument about Lagertha - definite proof that Rob just doesn’t understand women, like, at all, and has this weird “girl power, sisters, yayyy” idea of women’s relationships. Hint: women are people. Apply the same standards and principles.
