this suddenly pop up in my suggestion while im struggling for inspiration with my 3rd year studio project, and this is such a wake up call, such an inspiring video!
Your desire to be an architect is admirable. That's usually a sign that you genuinely care about the world we live in and that you want to be a part of shaping it in uplifting ways. While architecture is one of the most obvious ways that humans shape reality, there are many others. If your in university, I recommend keeping your mind open and that you consider taking an array of elective courses including drawing, painting, sculpture, product design, graphics, art history, architecture history, interior design, furniture design, and psychology. As one of my design professors noted, once you learn the fundamentals of the design process, you can apply that to anything after your out of school.
Just an amazing person. So happy BIG is doing work in the US. Please building something here in Emeryville, CA. We're on the east shore of the SF Bay, overlooking the City. Couldn't ask for a better site.
A very inspirational video. Quite often people don't understand what landscape architects or urban designers do. In a way, I feel like most of the projects discussed are more landscape architecture and urban design projects - these professions just don't get as much media attention or people just aren't as aware of them.
Whhoooaaa.. I'm metaphorically drooling! Watching him for the first time, I'm absolutely fascinated by his mindset of thinking differently about "protection", which turned out it could be something really creative and effective at the same time! My desire to be an architect increased exponentially after this video cuz of how beautiful my own thinking could turn out to be and how helpful to the world it will hopefully turn out! Amazing!
Inspiring for people or architects who want to enjoy the outdoor places by giving them not only meaning but also experiencing it as much as an indoor place.
The world of arts anything these days is one of STARS, started in the 90's maybe 80's. Like LOLywood stars. It made its way into architecture by the early 2000's.
@@sylvieeatsghosts Honestly, one of the things that threw me off about Ingels is that he does come off as a bit of an Elon Musk, hopefully he doesn't have the same shortcomings.
i hate low volume video, it's making the video so wasteful.. next time when you like uploading a video please get it a high volume especially video like this, it deserves to be listened so good.
It's hard to really see but it could be him considering he was one of the guys of Copenhagen Suborbitals, and Bjarke mentioned working with them to create that smoke ring thing. This was before anyone found out about him obviously, it's not like they contacted him after that came out. lol
I don't like architecture of today. It's just too blocky and very colorless, and no fantasy. To me the future seems rather boring to architecture and the future.
Biggest crook in danish architecture history. Has completely destroyed our beautiful, old city with his grey concrete and his big yawning glass building. He's not a hero.
i haven't done anything since studying architecture in collage but, this guy such a good man to inspiring me to make something good for the future
Im hooked on this guy, this guy is one of the most exiting people in the world right now, a breath of fresh air.
he is using drugs
I could´t agree more...
He’s like Elon Musk, As Elon is working for technology while this guy is building the world for the technology to exist in
@@gschadalavada8980 Elon has jade empire money and owns Space X. Bjarke is an architect and designer. There’s no comparing the two.
I've been to his office. He has a massive wall of pictures of himself!
The world of Architecture is moving in the right direction and it’s so exciting. BIG is definitely at the forefront
this is the best architecture talk i've ever heard.
Bjarke Ingels came to Ottawa and gave a similar talk, my fellow architecture students and I loved it. Madly inspirational, keep on spreading wisdom!
thank you Sir for inspiring me...second year architecture student hope to do good for this planet one day

Thank you sir for this presentation, I took many notes you inspired me- Algerian architecture student
Every month I search UA-cam in hopes of finding something new from Bjarke, so entertaining
It's nice right, like every time it's a new style, now innovative...

I really want to be an architect and Bjarke just keep inspiring me! omg I admire him so f** much!
Yes He is inspiring! But its really tough dear m an architect unless you are ready to work for atleast 12 hours daily
If you're interested in the open space projects also have a look into landscape architecture or urban design :)

Just listened a lecture given by him in Milan. This guy is sooo amazing.
this with the skiing slope is just AMAZINGGGGGGGGGG
It is now completed btw, it's called "Copenhill" if you want to search for it. :)
The 40 dislikes in this video are civil engineers. lol

He has great appeal to young architects...the design process is now standard, driven by Rem Koolhaas.
Architect Bjarke Ingels is such a great narrator.

Wow... just wow. He is the Elon Musk of Architecture.
except he does good things for communities and doesn't hate workers...
Dont u dare say that about Bjarke Ingals, though u could argue he is leaning into starchitecture
