I can almost guarantee you this ruling will be appealed. Now, the question is if it gets to SCOTUS, what will they do? Stand by, this is going to be an "interesting" ride.
canons, mortars, and explosives were all around when the 2a was written and included, and are in many ways much more frightening than a full auto. Heck in just a couple days Hezbollah found out how scary even tiny explosives that can fit in a pager or walkie talkie can be.
Well technically federal law doesn't prohibit ownership of automatic weapons, federal law requires you to pay a tax to own one. Again technically speaking that tax could probably be ruled unconstitutional because it goes against "shall not be infringed". Also in federal law is a restriction against manufacture of new automatic weapons for sale to the public, another law that is unconstitutional. The supreme court would have to rule on all of these before any big changes would take place. I have read that the reason automatic weapons had a tax placed on them in 1934 is because congress knew then that any other restrictions on them would be ruled unconstitutional. They thought they could get away with the tax. In today's world the enforcement of that tax has become pretty extreme, no other federal tax is viewed or enforced the same way.
The British came to Lexington and Concord to take the colonists supply of arms which included cannons shot ball ammo for the rifles and powder for the cannons in great quantity
It's bizarre the US government should have any restrictions on gun ownership in the USA. They were hired by the 13 colonies to manage the common affairs of an expanding nation, not to control them.
Scary guns make the Democratic party libreals the FBI and ATF shit there pants . I want the Democratic party to defin show . The definition of an assault weapon or machine gun
Shall not be infringed.
The US Constitutional says ALL ARMS are legal.

So homemade glock switch legal that will piss off the gun controllers
If the Second Amendment does not apply to modern firearms then the First Amendment does not apply to radio, internet or TV.
