I don't think there is an acoustic artist out there who hasn't been influenced by James Taylor. My personal fav? "Carolina in My Mind." It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.
This version was true to the original. Later in his career, Mr. Taylor slightly changed some of the guitar transitions lines in the verses just a bit to sound like his song, “Mexico”. I still liked that version, but have always been a fan of the original version from “Mud Slide Slim”. One of his best songs……hands down!

It's his Yamaha, I'm pretty sure, with a fancy feedback buster in the sound hole. It sounds great. A few years later, James moved on to Olsen guitars, and I think he's played them exclusively live since then.
