Thank you so much for this video. I just went and played friendlies with mang0 and won 23 games in a row. Just last week I went 0-2 at levo. You truly can win against falco every time
The ultimate power you feel in your body when you powershield a falco's first lazer. You strike fear into their hearts and you can see it in their gameplay. Its an experience.
The funny thing is it's usually the easiest one to powershield too, since it's full stage length and you know exactly when it's coming. Hitting the first few can sometimes make them give up on lasering entirely for a stock or two haha
Bruh one time I accidentally powershielded a Falco players first 2 lasers in our first match and he just immediately left. Little did he know Im actually fucking trash at dealing with laser spam LOL
@@SSB_Seal Right?? Even easier if you hold A at the start and then do the Z shield trick. I get it almost everytime now and feel so cool even though it’s so easy haha
I just started playing melee earlier this week. there was this hella flashy falco he was wavedashing all around the stage shining and all, but he was hella predictable all he did was laser, dash attack/dash Dair or some other attack. I played marth and I basically just stood there pressing down B or shield into grab whenever he got close and I won.
Is Running up shield something I should implement in my game even against better falcos. If yes, should I -Use it a lot assuming I'm not directly in front of him -Use it regularly but ONLY at farther ranges. -Only use it as a small mixup (I play JIggly)
Have trouble with getting out of pillar combos without eating 70-90%. I swear I’ve tried DI out, away, up and away and I’m just combo food. It is sooooo frustrating. I know there must be a relatively easy answer or you’d see Marths shy away from matchup more. Is holding DI not enough on its own? Do I need to try to smash controller stick during hitlag? Should I be using Cstick too? Feels so hopeless against good falcos. I’ve spent a good amount of time on the other side of the matchup because I hate marth dittos and I know it isn’t nearly as easy as it seems to link a dozen hits in a row with falco but it so frustrating. Idk what else to try. Must be doing something wrong.
"bad players always do this every single time, so only hard read these options with these noob-killers" is such stark contrast from last week's invincible improvement mentality video i am dead
This is just a guide on how to cheese falcos. I mean, you can make this guide if you like but call it what it is. How to beat the most common falco options using low skill techniques. This is a cheese gameplan. Helpful to low level players? yes. Helpful to the general viewer? Probably. Best possible content? I don't think so. If you want to make gameplan guides maybe make a guide analyzing Armada's, or Mango's, or PPMD's character specific gameplans to identify how the highest level players analyze the game. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy this content, but I think there are better gameplan videos to be made.
This isn't a guide on how to cheese Falcos. This is a guide on to defeat low to mid level Falco bread and butter neutral tactics, which is far and away the most frustrating thing newer players struggle with. Obviously there is overlap but I don't think the guides on this channel are typically targeted for the people who would benefit from guides like the ones you've mentioned. These are primarily meant for brand new, fledgling, novice and mid-level players. These players who make up the largest portion of the player base and are also the most important to create resources for. We want more people to play melee right? People who would get any significant benefit from understanding a top player's gameplan versus another top player are going to have to be very good at the game already.

I played a 10 game gf against a falco and every time I came down from the respawn platform he would full hop double jump. I caught on after one game and punished it every time. He never stopped doing it despite always getting hit. I was so mad that despite him being so predictable, it was still a last stock game 10 set. I probably have habits that got me punished every time that I don't realize.

Great video! This added a few little tips to the mountain of what I've learned in the Falco vs Sheik matchup by playing netplay every day. I personally like runoff rising nair best for covering side b since it can be used to cover sweetspot as well as above ledge. Also sitting on the side platform and charging needles like you mentioned is so broken, mid level falcos who rely entirely on lasers have literally no idea what to do when you show that you can easily out-camp them. One thing you didn't go over was double laser from ledge, which I find is even more common than side b, but is even worse/easier to punish. I have spent entire sessions trying to stop falcos from doing it every single time by just running up to ledge, crouching, and spamming dsmash/dtilt/nair as they jump up. Then if they start dairing from ledge I just wavedash back grab or nair oos it lol. Falco has such a great ledgedash and it saddens me to see so many of them forgo it entirely to rely on cheesy mixups like double laser/aerial/side b instead
As someone who has started trying to pick up Falco, just to play for fun, this is also a good tutorial on what to avoid being ingrained into your gameplay.

I played netplay for like 5 yrs before I figured out that I shouldn't be reading it. I learnt to do it by setting up a 20xx replay to sideb and trying to hit it with my eyes closed.
