I recently travelled on the exact same plane as you, SX-DVH nostos, it was an enjoyable experience and in my opinion no airline can replace the classic aegean airlines experience.
Glad you enjoyed Aegean! If you’re ever in Greece again, I highly recommend flying their neo aircraft longer distance! Cabin, Seat, and Service have all been overhauled!
@@AnDrEw17876 I live in Greece! It was a vacation trip. However i am considering reviewing the neo series of aegean aircraft. Thanks for the suggestion!
Great video! I recently traveled from Athens to Cofu business class with Aegean Airlines, seeing your video brought back some great memories.. So thank you...
You can find another brand of yogurt in the USA called Fage, it too is available in single serving cups with honey and sometimes with a fruit compote. Aegean has been a subsidiary of Lufthansa for quite some time now. I remember flying with them in the 90’s when they had Avro RJ100’s. These were sweet aircraft as well. I still fly with them from Crete to Athens quite a lot and when I have a travel agent try and I inform them that I want bookings with Aegean. The other company that serves Crete and some of the other islands tend to use ATR aircraft and off season in Crete they try and use those aircraft which I refuse to fly on. They are not safe aircraft. As for the airport in Heraklion it has seen better days. It is still run by the Greek Government and typical for "public" airports they are not well kept. Airports that have been sold off to private operators have been renovated at high costs to the operators however it is very rare to see even one toilet stall marked out of order or extremely dirty. The whole facility is kept in excellent condition by private operators. As for the Aegean fleet, they are very well maintained aircraft and clean even with short turn around times during peak tourist season. Aegean also operates the old flagship airline of Greece, Olympic Airways however they tend to serve mostly the small islands in the country and their fleet consist of ATR series of aircraft. Having never flown with that airline I have no idea as to the condition and services offered but being a division of Aegean I can only assume they are in prime condition as well.
@@GenkisTravels Correct, having a few hours in the left seat I have spent many hours reviewing NTSB investigations as well as other operators around the world who have had unfortunate experiences with these aircraft. They have a lot to be desired as for safety. Reminds me of the issue with one of the old Trijets (not the Lockheed L1011) it’s very unstable in certain scenarios and pilots need additional training in this aircraft.

I was pleasantly surprised how good the service on Aegean was, even on such a short flight! Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the info! I’ll look into the Yogurt. :)
I’m going to guess the (not safe) airline you’re referring to is SkyExpress? :D
