That inverter is intended to be hooked directly up to the solar panels. I ran one for a few years.
With it's voltage range you will have to use 24v or 36v solar panels in parallel.
It will put out as much power as you get from the sun, up to 1000watts. I had 4 380w panels hooked to mine and it would crank away all day.
If you hook it right up to batteries it's just going to drain them in an hour or two, don't even waste your time, it is not worth it whatsoever, lead acid car batteries will probably wear out in a couple weeks anyways.

Brandon, there's a few reasons why you can't just hook up an AC appliance to your grid tie inverter and expect it to run.
Inverter Functionality: A grid-tie inverter is designed to synchronize with the utility grid's frequency and voltage. Its primary purpose is to convert the DC power generated by the solar panels into AC power that matches the grid's electrical characteristics. The inverter monitors the grid's parameters and adjusts its output accordingly. Without a stable grid connection, the inverter cannot generate consistent AC power.
Grid Synchronization: Grid-tie inverters require a stable utility grid connection to function correctly. They rely on the grid's frequency and voltage as references for synchronization. When connected to the grid, the inverter matches its output with the grid's parameters, ensuring that the power generated by solar panels/batteries flows into the grid seamlessly. Without the grid as a reference, the inverter won't know how to produce the appropriate AC power.
Power Balance and Voltage Regulation: In a typical grid-tied solar power system, excess energy generated by the solar panels is fed into the grid, and any deficit is supplemented by drawing power from the grid. This balance is maintained by the inverter, which adjusts its output based on the overall demand. Without a grid connection, there is no mechanism to regulate the power flow, leading to potential voltage fluctuations, power surges, or even damage to the appliance.
Load Matching: Grid-tie inverters are designed to handle the power demands of an entire household or building, not just a single appliance. They are optimized to match the total load requirements of the property with the available solar power. Connecting a single appliance directly to the inverter may overload the system or result in inadequate power supply, as the inverter won't be able to adapt to the specific appliance's power needs.
Safety Concerns: When the grid power goes out during an outage, grid-tie inverters automatically shut down to prevent the solar power from being sent back into the grid, which could pose a safety risk to utility workers. By directly connecting an appliance to a grid-tie inverter without the grid's presence, you could inadvertently create an unsafe condition by backfeeding power into the disconnected grid.
Also, the inverter's fans won't kick on unless the inverter has been running for awhile. The best way to check if your inverter is working is by checking how much electricity your house is consuming while the inverter is on compared to when it's off at the electric meter on the side of your house. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the explanation! Looked this up for a while and finally i know what to buy and how I should connect it.

Dude, he isn't trying to power a signal appliance directly from the GTI, he has it plugged into the grid. You just wrote a whole long spiel for no reason.

Not sure lead acid batteries are going to survive for long. That inverter is going to over discharge them unless you unplug it when the sun goes down.

no in between any batteries or/solar panels you need a dc to dc converter it's a cheap part and doesn't look like it even does much of anything but that is what stabilizes the power

If you don't need large batteries, use a downboost converter between the solar panel output to directly power a regular inverter from the sun. Although, even just a bit of shade will cut off all power, but it's doable. You would just need a very small backup to keep everything running when this happens, as well as a possible grid auto trans switch to change to grid when bat hits certain voltage. There's quite a few ways to go about it really. You'll figure it out. Keep us updated, entertaining to watch.
What I mentioned above is not necessary at all if you're already gonna do a proper backup build with a sizeable batt.

At 24.4v you won't have much amp load on that, 28.8v is a good solid voltage for that inverter.

That type of inverter is only to reduce consumption in kWh, connected with two or three panels, as long as you have the best configuration suitable for operation, you have to read the instructions it comes with carefully, it is very good and reduces the electricity payment, You will notice with each month that passes
