This is so exciting. Our son asked for a puppy for Christmas a couple of months ago. We quickly said no. Then, our dog passed away a few days before Thanksgiving this year. Our son was devastated. We had the dog before he was born, and our son is now 10. Needless to say, we are getting a puppy for Christmas. I can't wait to see the look on his face....and our 3 year old daughter too.
They seem kinda spoilt to be honest. Way too young for a puppy EACH. The boy doesn't even care about handling it gently - the poor animal is not a toy.
I was just about to say something like that. You can clearly see the puppy with the boy is NOT enjoying the way he is being handled. But what concerns me more than ANYTHING else is that the parents are not correcting him on how to hold the puppy. I can only hope the puppies stay safe :(
The puppies are from the same litter. One parent is Maltese and the other is Shih-Tzu. Jake is now 17lbs and Sally (the white one) is 7lbs. They are both doing well and are bundles of joy.
The story behind this is the kids had a little dog named Lily that died about 5 months before we got these puppies. Lily got sick one day and then had an allergic reaction to the meds the vet gave her. They did all they could, but she ended up dying from a heart attack. We had her for four years. Lily loved to lay on her back in your arms and get her belly rubbed. That's why Nicolas keeps trying to flip Jake over. When Lily died, we promised the kids we would get them both a puppy. They just didn't know when. I believe they were so calm when they got them because they remember Lily dying a few months before. Jake loves to roll over and have you pet rub his belly. He reminds us do much of Lily. Sally actually looks just like Lily, but she is much more fisty.
The way hes holding that dog is bad for the dogs spine and can miss place the disks in his back you should all be ashamed of your selves , everyone who thinks this is "cute" that pup is still growing please dont flip it like that and bend its spine. just from this video I can see those dogs arent gonna last long , if a dog in your care dies a premature death at just 4 years old buying that a puppy at the drop of a hats not a good message, your teaching that that animals can just be replaced and thats not true
Our last dog died from an allergic reaction to mess a vet gave her. He had to then take her to an emergency vet to try to save her. The emergency vet told us we had a 50/50 shot. The next morning the vet called and told us she had a heart attack. Come to find out, the first vet gave Lily mess like an IV. They put the fluids under her skin by the shoulder for her body to absorb across 24 hours. She had an allergic reaction to the other meds that thinned out her blood. The pocket of fluid the first vet put on her burst some of her bloods vessels and caused her to bleed out from the inside. Her dying had nothing to do with how my kids handled her.

totally, they dont care!!! one opens the box, smiles, holds it upside down, and wonders how to recycle the packaging and the other simply laughs like its a joke!
Oh I wish that's what I get for Christmas. . we have an apartment so we can't have pets but I do wish to have a puppy when we have a house.. U guys are soooo lucky! 😀🐶🐕🐶🐩

Yes! Let us give little spoiled kids a living creature for a present, especially when the boy has no clue how to hold a living creature!! I feel so sorry for both the children learning this horrible lesson about life meaning nothing, and also for the dogs who will have to live this life being treated as nothing more than property.

I have wanted a puppy for 8 years. I am really sad that I don't have one. But this just made my day!
