You scored a great deal on your tent. Where in the Canadian Rockies dod you visit? I see the point for easy set-up or rocky ground. Great info.

Banff and Jasper national parks. The most beautiful truck camping I have done. The parks are wonderful but the best camping is outside of the parks both East and West of each park. Just drive down a logging road, and you are bound to find a sweet spot for the night.

I really want one of these, but how do I get my 60 lb dog up there?

That is always a fun challenge. I scoop mine up in my arms and then lean against the ladder for stability as I slowly step high enough to put the dog in the tent. Getting down, I start on the ladder just high enough to scoop the dog in my arms and then slowly step down to the ground. It's tricky somedays, but worth the benefits. They can keep you warm on a cold night.

there are products that can strap over the ladder creating a canvas walkway on the ladder, you would just ensure the angle of the ladder is not super steep and the doggo can walk up it
