I started putting underground highways a few days ago. What's nice is you can actually put more than one floor of interchange. I tried 2 or 3 but I guess if you build super super high mountains on each corner of a tile, you can do crazy amount of highways, and almost 0 obstruction to the city.
Great video! I love how it cuts to some shots of a sunken highway in your real city. This is a very useful tutorial. I have now even used this technique to put a highway under my airport. Thank you!
you do know that the NAM + Simorce's Hole Digging Lots fix the problem, and the results look better, sepecially when you go and get a skin for the slopes such as Buddybud's highway walls.
When you use the road and plop them one piece at a time to sculpt the terrain, why are they looking like bits of roads? That is to say that when I try it myself in my game they come out as a parking lot piece instead of a road. I guess it doesn't really matter whether their a bit of street or a bit of a parking lot, but I'm just curious if it's something special you have installed or something "un-special" that I have as a plugin somewhere. Thanks,
1:55 I dont have ground highway overpass onramp I think either mine is not there replaced by nam 29 or i have to tab through to get it somehow. I think mine have copies of 2 cloverleafs which is a waste yet not ground highway overpass onramps for either roads or avenues.
The best thing of this game in my opinion, is getting the traffic to run smoothly. This game is one of my favorites of all time. Too bad it isn't fully compatible with Windows 7.
Good stuff, but is that avenue over highway overpass fully functional? The cars just seem to disappear on them. I had the same problem with mine, and i was watching this to see if they can work.
U should use NAM (Fun fact: NAM functions still exists inside the game, but was locked because computers of sc4 age weren't enought power to run the game with that funcions)
@AdrianNinjaBoii I think it is more compatable with certain types of video cards or some other hardware. On mine it crashes. What video card and processor do you have?
something like this might be reason why old simcity is better than new one. it leave opportunity for player to use their imagination and exploit the mechanic to build something incredible but still legit like this, in Simcity 5, lot of thing already ready-made for you so you pretty much can't use your creative like this, also you can't terraform in Simcity 5 which is totally suck.......
@AdrianNinjaBoii Yeah, I have heard of a few people who have that same story. But for most windows 7 users it will work for about an hour then it will crash. Maybe it's a hardware thing. Do you have old hardware? I know that that is the reason it wont work with my computer with Virtual XP running.

Love your region! Thanks for this tutorial.
Great video. I'll try this out next time I play.
Though I do kind of wish SC4 allowed more "blocky" terrain adjustment ala SC2K
Thanks for reposting it. I guess it's impossible to keep the road surface perfectly flat. But this looks great anyway.

Hey there. I know its an old vid, but what map is it that's shown when you select a city? I would like to know, because it just looks plain awesome

Is that the exact same way you made your highways in your SimCity 4 Super Highways Video? same spaces in between each interchange and everything?
U should use NAM

Hi :)
Can you tell me were did you find the terrain mod, is so green and beautiful. Please !

How come you could build an overpass onramp for a highway/avenue junction? I can't do it in my sc4
are u using the NAM mod?
+Will Halford as i know even for no mod used, you can still get highway/avenue junction by building a overpass then simply drag avenue through it.
superb! I didn't download any god damn mods for simcity 4 so far =]
the only mod Ive seen is the NAM mod but it is a mandatory mod to fix and tweak the traffic system of the game
Ok I'm having a bit of trouble making this. Are you using a MOD or no for the avenue?
+Mark Knudsen no mods

Try limiting the game to run on only one core of your CPU
God, I'm old...
@AdrianNinjaBoii It probably has something to do with the video card
Beautiful, thx for the tips!
How I can put this bridge? if my game will not let me put the bridge?
