Snugpak Torrent Waterproof Jacket Review

- Spring is on its way but the rain still falls and the wind still blows (this is Britain don't forget). The team at #Snugpak have sent me down the #Torrent Waterproof Jacket to review and test on my travels.
Having been a Snugpak user for many years, my go-to winter warmer is the Snugpak SJ9 which is super toasty and an absolute beast of a jacket. However, in the warmer months, it's a little heavy for traipsing around the back lanes. So, the Torrent is the perfect medium weight jacket for my day-to-day filming.
Snugpak also produces some great outdoor gear which I will be hopefully testing throughout the spring/summer months, once this annoying Coronavirus blows over.
I'd highly recommend the Snugpak Torrent jacket, mainly because of the body shape, material and not to mention the awesome attention to detail. These products are made in the UK and I'm proud to support a UK manufacturer.

Your video format for the review is amazing. Thank you!
Got one myself Simon. Absolutely super piece of kit..Snugpak are a brilliant company and made in the UK too.
Nice one dude. They really are a great all rounder and, like you said, produced by a UK manufacturer! A must support there. Gonna go for the SJ6 next - another level of warmth.
The Torrent is imported IE made in China. Very little Snugpak gear is still UK made.
Despite fitting me perfectly, I found the neck way too tight on this jacket. I couldn't wear it with a mid layer fleece without almost choking myself. I am a 16" collar and 40" chest, the jacket was a medium rated for 40-43" chest. Just ridiculous design, the only way I could comfortably wear it would over a T shirt. I took it back, tried on a large and that was like a tent on me. Seems sizing is still an issue for Snugpak, as it always has been. Good luck if you can get one to fit you properly, as they are nice jackets.
I agree I tried two different sizes and the jackets are just not cut right. The Chinese must have a different size chart it is not the quality of a British made Snugpak Jacket.
Nice review ...what size would you be wearing please ?
I’m wearing the large in the vid which fits well BUT if I had to buy again I’d get the XL. I like a little room in my jackets. I’m 6ft, 14.5 stone and average body size. All depends on your fit requirements Chris.
great review - love the format.
Whats your other kit?
Wellies?

Hello!
I am 6ft (183 cm) tall and weigh 174.1 lbs (79 kg), my usual European clothing size is 52 (L). On Amazon, this jacket was described as small. The Snugpak clothing size chart indicates slightly oversized sizes. How really? Thank you!
I’m 6ft 15.5 stone. I like a little space in my jackets for layers so I go XL. L is good with 1 layer below.
I have a Carhartt Jacket from 10...years it has excelent insulation on winter...and can Support Middle temperatures...since i am pratical i dont want to use my military goretex jacket for camping now i am using the Carhartt One but i need a second jacket for everyday use Also here the winter temperatures in Maximum Goes to minus -6/-9 Celsius and at top of Mountain -14/-15
...is this too warm for 10 Degrees Celsius the Carhartt i can use it with 10 Degrees Celsius but its not waterproof not even has ventilation zippers.
This jacket is defo a mid-ranger, as in great for nearly all seasons. I say ‘nearly’ because I have the Torrent Extreme too and that works better in the super cold but too hot in the warmer months, for me. The Torrent is rugged and gets the most use throughout the year. I just wished I bought mine 1 size bigger as I thought I’d loose some weight 😂 I definitely recommended this over the high street store options Joao for all round build and durability. I’m 6ft, 15 stone and medium build and I’d recommend the XL size unless you want bigger for under layers. @snugpak
@@SimonMcCabe well i am 6 foot 5 and 205 pounds so it seems for me needs to be the XXL size?
Thanks alot
Got one myself great quality, but way to warm
I tried two different sizes and the jackets are just not cut right. If you buy one expect to have to send it back. The Chinese must have a different size chart it is not the quality of a British made Snugpak Jacket.
