Spontaneous Mural Painting in the Factory

- It's March already and I haven't had the chance to paint a mural this year. But there is hope! There are a few days that seem alright temperature wise, so I grab my cans and paint a spontaneous first mural in the old factory. Unfortunately I have to cover up one of Smoe's throwies, but I'm sure he's alright with that.
I've been feeling pretty good about painting fabric recently, so that's definitely something I want to get better at. So no surprise I'm going to do just that: Painting a motif that basically exclusively consists of fabric. Of course there is also a backpack and mountains included. I just can't help it.

good call on stopping, adding more and more elements will more often than not lead to a chaotic mess where the focal point gets obscured. this piece is very calm, warm and interesting to look at without being overwhelmed. This is absolut great stuff and I'm very happy I found your channel through Smoe, keep up the awesome work and all the best to you!!

@@NickMoody Sometimes less is more, everytime I struggle with deciding if i'm finished or not I think to myself: 'If I cant make a simple box look interesting, how would i make something complex look interesting?". Can I do more with less? If I can make something simple look interesting, who knows what would be possible with complex stuff right? intent! so yeah, thats absolutely how we develop! one wall at a time, we paint so we can do it again. have a good one mate, excited to see what you'll cook up next!

Bezüglich skills verbessern um ohne doodle grid auszukommen.. habe mir vor 2 wochen das selbe gedacht und im zuge dessen wieder mal das projekt gestartet jeden tag einen kleinen sketch zu zeichnen. also von grund auf alle basics erneut üben.. mal sehen ob es was bringt :D
Das Zeichnen an sich ist nicht das Problem. Eher die Proportionen richtig an die Wand zu kriegen. Hab auch seit gestern wieder ein neues Sketchbook aufm Tisch liegen. Aber Daily Drawings werd ich mir wohl so schnell nicht wieder auf die Fahne schreiben :D Beim letzten mal ist die Serie nach 80 Tagen gerissen.

Do you guys own this entire abandon factory? And if so, what are the long term plans for it? Just a place to paint, or are you investing in it to clean it up, maybe turn it into a street art exhibit etc? I can only imagine all the things that are left in there / surprises you could find
We don't own it, but we have permission to paint in there and use it to make our videos. It's not accessible to the public at the moment. We'll see what the future holds for this place.

Why did you choose to paint over the Smoe tag instead of going to the wall on either side of it? From someone who doesn't paint at all and knows very little about it, it seems like the walls on both sides would have worked just as well.
Hi Ben, you’re absolutely right. With how the mural turned out dimension wise I could have absolutely done it. This was just the most accessible part of the wall at this point.
To make this clear: this is no disrespect to Smoe. He’s my friend and I admire his work and he knows that.
I think you have the ability to be able to freehand your art. I propose that your next video be your first attempt at it. You might surprise yourself.
There's actually a good chance I'll do that next week. Let's see how that goes...
