Outsider and Viscera is definitely more traditional metal core. They were released so long ago that veil of maya has since changed their sound a bit with synthwave vegan and godhead.
Nice one! You should check out Outsider and Outrun, and some of their older stuff, like Mikasa, but there are many more. Lukas has a great voice, both poppy and screams. I actually had some vocal lessons with him and he's such a genuine, down-to-earth, person. Glad to see you're discovering such amazing bands! BTW, the dude at the end was Spencer Sotello, the vocalist of Periphery, probably just teasing us with a feature :D this was only part one... so who knows
@@florentmartiniere Haha, thank you! He is actually a vocal coach, you can look for Chris Liepe on youtube and they have some videos together and you can book a lesson with him. I honestly recommend him with that.
Those are some real bendy bois! Good stuff. Didn’t totally blow me away but I enjoyed this. I think my only real criticism would be that it’s very samesey. There isn’t a whole lot of variation, just kinda consistent brutality. Which there’s certainly a time and a place for, right? Maybe I’ve just been listening to too much prog lately, but I would have enjoyed some more dynamics to keep me guessing. But it was great for what it was. Solid tune!
I get you. And I think normally that would bother me but I seem to be in a relentless heavy mood at the moment. Just recorded a reaction to a band called Graphic Nature, no vocal melodies also, but loved it.
Steve, I think something is a bit off here: "First time hearing VEIL OF MAYA" "This reaction and review of "Left Behind" by The Plot In You is genuinely my first time hearing this song." 🤔 _____ On a side note, spin Matriarch and False Idol, full of bangers. Older albums All Things Set Aside, The Common Man's Collapse and [id] are much heavier but defo worth a listen too (not the same vocalist). And as a guitarist I must say, Mark Okubo is a freaking alien.
Glad you liked it! Outsider and Viscera have some more melodic parts as well.
Great recommendation

Did you catch that was Spencer Sotelo at the end?
I'm intrigued to see if that's foreshadowing
Nope! Good spot! That could be fun…

@@AlexRaiu guitarist here, from faraway Europe, but thanks anyway : ) -- and wouldn't dare to get a lesson from Alien Okubo lol
@@florentmartiniere I'm from Transylvania, Romania, so feel you with "faraway Europe" :))

Copy and paste error 😅 Thanks for flagging!
@@SteveOGRock most welcome, I like your way of reacting and your track picks, keep it up : )
Thanks Florent! Very kind of you to say so.
“is a freaking alien” 😂 Well expressed haha! Thanks for the recommendations too.
Refreshing to see a reaction to something other than slaughter to prevail or Lorna shore. Yawn
Keep it up!
