Hi I’m Paul from England just seen this and have just subscribed. Unbelievable memories came flooding back. It was shown here in 1974 around 7-30 pm on Sunday I think im almost 64 these days !! All I can remember every Monday morning it was the talk in school was such a amazing show then just went. Im glad you have let me know why as always wondered. Really looking forward to seeing your videos. Was a excellent presentation and so informative. Many thanks 🙏
I am VERY surprised that you got it in 1974! Here in the USA , it was Fall 1974. I wonder if you got it LATE in 1974. UK normally gets USA shows MUCH later. And vice versa. We did not get Monty Python until 1975/76. But we did get Space : 1999 when it was brand new.
This show, the TV adaptation of Logan's Run, and Kolchak: The Night Stalker have been my late night comfort food since I was an insomniac kid. Those, and Vincent Price movies.
I liked the short lived series Fantastic Journey. I read on several different websites that she died from cancer but Wikipedia shows her still alive, age 72 and married and living in Studio City California.
The original Logan's run is still one of my favorites, me and brother saw it that summer it was released many times at Robert e Lee theater in BR. on plank close to hollywood
The one with the glider LITERALLY broke my leg! I loved this series when I was a kid, and after seeing Gaylen flying, I decided that I'd have a go... and took a run and launched myself off the outhouse roof! My Mum reminded me years later that when we were at the Children's Hospital having my leg set, I was only crying because i couldn't fly!!!
You got to see the 6 million episode where Austin uses his bionic arm , mainly hand as an impact wrench on head bolts on aircraft engine then runs across field with motor on back, my ole man was like what the f. is going on, it was hilarious.
Absolutely love the Planet of the Apes it had a huge impact on my life! I still have a PofA metal Trash can. Even picked up the PofA comic mag back in High School. Met Mark Lenard and he was a great guy. Made my parents watch the TV show! I have seen every single movie, TV show, and comic that came out.
Thanks for doing this piece on planet of the apes!! My real first job in high school in the early 70s was a night set guard for the 20th century filming location Ranch, which is now the Malibu Creek State Park, I had the fortune to watch the makings of such movies as planned, the apes, kung fu, mash, towering Inferno, Poseidon, adventure, TV, mini series, Swiss family Robinson and many more thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories of my youth!!!!
Dont forget James Gregory who played General Ursus in Beneath the Planet of the Apes . His deep gravelly voice made Ursus evem more intimidating . Alot of people will remember him for playing Inspector Frank Luger on Barney Miller.
I was born in 1965, so a lot of your subject matter is right up my alley. I loved this series and I have the DVD set. I remember one Friday when we went camping and took a little portable B&W TV with us so that I wouldn't miss the episode. I hope you cover Kolchak: The Night Stalker.
The difference a day makes. You state over 17k subscribers (whenever you actually made the video) yesterday and 1 day later you’re at 19.3k. Congratulations! I look forward to the video about the metal ship used and whatever happened to it (scrapped or purchased?)!
Thanks for this trip down memory lane. I remember The Planet of the Apes so well. The toys and that tree house I got for Christmas as a kid. Thanks for your awesome recap!! Gen X!!
Met David Naughton at a convention last year and I had NO IDEA he and James were related. WOW. And I am a HUGE Apes fan - Like, I have a display in my office full of Apes collectibles. Great video, thank you!

Two of your passions combined as Irwin Allen used John Chambers “Dr. Zaius” Makeup for ‘Fugitives in Space’ in 1968; but that’ll be a Future Story… Keep Up the Awesome Work 🛸
Hey, thank you so much. Yes that makeup was supposedly stolen and used on Lost in Space without permission, I understand there was quite an issue with it :-) I'll definitely touch on that in the future, thanks for the support :-) Dan
I remember my Mom baught me the forbettin zone playset. Loved playing with that set because it had a big net. Sadly couldnt find to buy any figures in the 80s. According to his widow, Natalie Trundy, Jacobs stated, "I will never in my lifetime make a film that cannot be seen by the whole family." The t.v. series may not be on Blue Ray but it is on DVD. I have the boxed set which includes an episoide CBS refused to air as they thought it had an anti0Viet Nam War message.
@@ShinobiShaman if you discount the Tim Burton remake film and look at the new (Andy Serkis) films as the history that Cornelius and Zira explain when under aresst, they can fit in a time line

When this series went off the air my friend and I started a petition to bring it back ...We were 12 and it was 1975 (??). We had about 500 names or so and I sent it in to CBS. They sent me back a letter saying how they were going to cancel it for a wider selection of programming...Or something like that. I still have it somewhere.
ABC sent about the same letter to me when I belonged to a group trying to Kolchak : The Night Stalker about the same time. Everybody in the group got the same form letter.
I was 14-years-old when the TV series debuted and enjoyed it. I recently found the original 14 episodes and revisited them. Thanks for filling in all the gaps over what happened and why. Really interesting stuff. Thank you.
Thank God they made the 1968 ape flick with Heston so that all the other water-downed ripoff remakes, sequels, prequels, etc. can be compared to what was a truly great Sci Fi film, the original Planet of the Apes. Forget everything else. Nothing else can stand up to Heston's '68 movie.
Exactly POTA from 1968 thur 1974 were the BEST remakes not the same I grew up with the originals born 1965 I was 3 in '68 and 9 in '74 POTA are my all time favorites along with Kolchak the night stalker TV series and the first two movies The Night Stalker (1972) and The Night Strangler (1973).
I watched it growing up around your age at the time. I loved it. But often lost out to Sanford and Son with 1 TV. When I was at my Grandparents, I was able to watch it on a black and white 2nd TV. I bought the series recently, it was great seeing everything I missed. Such a fantastic show ♥
Probably one of my favorite shows ever made...Its the bomb...I can watch it over and over...I love the sets...the costumes and the stories.what an amazing show that was.Early saturday mornings before bugs bunny is when it was on for me...Just amazing..
I remember with fondness this fascinating series that stimulated my imagination every week. Many of the storylines were intriguing and I was saddened to one day look for the show only to see it was gone. I never saw the Roddy McDowell as aged Galen movies and I would have enjoyed this immensely. I hope they release the series in the collection it deserves. This was a fun episode and if this is the usual fare then I am subscribing too.
Back when this version of Lost In Space came out, I went to a party in Nyack New York. It was sort of a family party. Lots of kids and parents, and I came as a guest with another person, so I didn’t know too many people. Later that evening I noticed a young boy playing with an action figure of John Robinson from the 98 version. I asked him, “who do you have there?” “It’s my dad” he said excitedly. I was surprised and confused. Later I found out that the kid was William Hurts son. He was at the party with William Hurts I’m assuming girlfriend/wife at the time. R.I.P. William Hurt
Dan, you do it every time. As soon as your video starts I am transported back to my childhood. No flatscreens or remote controls and of course you needed your TV Guide! I loved this show and was crushed when it was cancelled. I think some of the props came from Irwin Allen’s collection. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
Wow - I was in 6th grade when the Planet of the Apes TV show came out - maybe 7th? I never saw an episode, even though I clearly remember seeing the movies of the week on CBS, having missed out on seeing the POTA movie series in theater. I will never forget the first time I saw the ending of the ‘68 film with the Statue of Liberty. I was in total shock, as I had not heard anything about this ending. But the TV show - this is what I remember hearing about it. Every week, the human astronauts were chased around by the bad apes. That’s all the TV show was about. Every week, the humans got chased by apes. Thank you, Dan! Your enthusiasm is contagious. I’m glad to hear that this show had a lot more to it than just that. I would agree that having it on Friday nights and against two hit shows on NBC - “Sanford and Son” and “Chico and the Man” did not help at all. POTA the TV show never got the ratings or the kudos it deserved.
I totally agree with your assessment. I also remember being shocked when it was canceled so soon. But, we did get a handful of great shows to enjoy :-) thanks for the support, Dan
Man I loved that series. had all the Mego action figures too. Urko was secretly my favorite character. When I played Planet of The Apes with my childhood buddies, I would somehow always end up being Urko which was my plan all along. Dude you have amazing vocal tones. I always pick up on that. It makes the whole experience a whole lot better when the speaker sounds good. I'm guessing you tried your luck at D.J.ing at one point or should have had. Anyway, great upload. I also remember those mini movies, and had all the memorabilia. Disney taking on Planet of The Apes might very well be the final nail on the coffin for the franchise.
I was in the 7th grade when this show hit TV and I refused to go to my local high school's home football games because I couldn't miss this show on Friday nights!!
Thanks for the childhood flashback!.. I was 7 years old... I cried like a baby when they canceled this show.. lol. My 1st experience with a canceled TV show..
I remember meeting Galen and Urco at a huge department store in Liverpool (UK). I love to think it was the actors but i fear it wasnt, although Mum said it was.. i was around 7-8. Galen signed my head. 🤷♂️
While perusing comics online I happened upon the Planets comics and got caught up in the tales of the fugatives Jason and Alexander. The human and chimpanzee who had to work together to survive. Great stories. I have the boxset of the tv series. I enjoyed seeing how the actors in the simian costumes and makeup worked their prosthetic masks to simulate facial expressions. They were very creative performers.
Hey, thanks so much for reaching out. And more importantly, thank you for the support. This channel has gone crazy in the last 2 months, but I'm very appreciative. More content on the way :-) stay tuned, Dan
I was 11 years old when the TV series originally aired, and was a consummate fan. When it was cancelled, I wrote a scathing letter to CBS complaining of the heinous mistake they had made by depriving PotA fans of their favourite show. In response, they sent me a standard form letter that did not gain my satisfaction at all!
This was one of my childhood favourites. I remember it being very popular here in the UK in 1975. My brother and I had the T-shirts (I have a few photos of us wearing them) and it was talked about a lot in school. I also watched the repeats, Saturday mornings on Anglia TV, and they broadcast the cartoon series straight after it. I managed to get hold of a region 2 DVD box set of the series a few years ago.
The TV series was hugely popular in the UK. It was shown on Sunday evenings, late 1974. It think it was networked by ITV, which was unusual for an imported series. The repeats, however (around 1975 and '76), were shown regionally, scheduled in various slots by the different ITV companies. But the fact it got a repeat run indicates how popular it had been (again, a little unusual for an imported series). I don't know how much potential it had to continue for longer - but then, 'on the run'-type series can keep on delivering descent episodes for quite some time.
My brother and I had to beg to watch this show and I couldn't remember why. Makes sense because my dad was a huge Sanford and Son fan. Never realized that was James Naughton, either. Sure if you haven't done Kolchak yet it's coming, looking forward to more.
Love the View-Master touch in the lower right -- I had that. Also, when you played the start of the opening theme music I got such a good feeling; my 10/11- year old self would purposefully cram my homework in on Friday evenings before 'Apes', so that electronic tinkling represented my gateway to a cut-loose, school-free weekend!
The tv series was hugely popular in the U.K. and this led to a British weekly reprint comic of the contents of the Marvel monthly being so popular that it encouraged Marvel to keep printing the American monthly even as sales declined. There were also three hardcover Annual books published with new U.K. material based on the tv shows.
I loved this show. We didn't have a colour TV at the time, but an old couple three doors down would let me walk down to watch it at their place. I was about 8 or 9 at the time. The house is still there, I often think of them as I pass it.
Returning from Northern California to San Diego along the PCH, my dad saw some Airstream trailers parked near the bluff overlooking the ocean near Malibu. We pulled in to see what was going on. We came upon the location for the tv show. As a 14 year old it was a great experience. The crew was on edge as every time they set up a shot, an airplane or boat or a stray cloud would throw the director into an angry fit and yelled "CUT". The scene was a eulogy being said while apes surrounded a grave stone.
Got the DVD Boxed Set which includes the never aired episode. Like many others, I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s and loved this. It’s funny how time plays tricks on your mind. I always thought there were loads of episodes and imagined that there were 2 or 3 series, until I bought the boxed set and found out that it was cancelled early on. Still, there are a heck of a lot of guys in their early 60’s and late 50’s who remember this programme fondly.
When I was a child, Planet of the Apes was a cultural phenomenon. I had one of the playsets (unfortunately, not the mountain fortress thing,) a Halloween costume, everything. But this is how I realized what the word "popular" means: I must have been about 7 years old when they cancelled the show. I remember suddenly realizing that I hadn't seen it in a while. I asked my mother, "Why haven't we been watching Planet of the Apes recently?" She said, "Well, they stopped showing it on TV." "Why?" "Well, it wasn't very popular." "What does 'popular' mean?" "It means nobody liked it." And I responded, "Well, _I_ liked it." Similarly, a friend of mine loaned me the animated Planet of the Apes series on DVD several years ago. My son, probably about 10 at the time, absolutely loved it.
HUGE PotA fan here. Your tale nearly parallels mine (we must be the same age). I wasn't allowed the toys, but in my adult years, I did get some licensed 1/6 scale figures that had amazing detail. Our generation was spoiled. While the franchise rates to be flushed down the pooper since the prequels to now, we can claim Star Wars episodes 4, 5, and 6, the best and only, as ours. We had the best toys, too. To this day, i rate both PotA and Bond equally for favorite franchises with Star Wars next. Have every PotA dvd available (unless there's some obscure thing), including the cartoons. You really got me wound up for some damned dirty apes. Great video.
First time I've come across your channel and it's a really nice video. Interesting and relevant info with a smooth presentation. I'm much more familiar with the movies but never saw the show. I actually listened to the audiobook of Planet of the Apes. A lot of differences but also a lot of parallels to the Heston film. There was an incredible amount of dignity in the writing style of the translation. I have subscribed and will be checking out more.
@@MoviesMusicMonsters "Planet of the Apes" was terrible. They had to recycle the same basic plot over and over, blatant social commentary, not all that good.
An excellent and technically well-made analysis. You covered pretty much everything there is to say about this. Perhaps digging more into the 'guest stars' of each episode could have been something to include? In fact, you could easily have made this longer and dug deep into each episode. I would be very intrigued as to your opinion on the other (often divisive) ape movies.
Yes! I watched the whole run of the series before it vanished like a f***t in the wind. What really gobsmacked me was that clip from the CBS Friday Night Movie intro - those graphics and the theme music transported me back to my living room in front of the TV in the 1970s. When it wasn't a P.O.T.A. movie then it was a James Bond movie (they always had to to move the 11:00 newscast to 11: 30 when they ran one of those), or some WWII movie like Hornet's Nest or Raid on Rommel. Glad I found your channel!
I watched this series when it came out, and bought a novelization or two of the series. Surprised it was cancelled so soon, but your comments about the scripting rings true. Most memorable scene to me: Urko : Ahh yes. I seem to remember hearing something vaguely about that; *Brain washing*. Isn't that where you take the brain out of the skull and wash it with cool water? Wanda : No, no. You don't take the brain out of the skull. Urko : You don't - Well how can you wash the brain if you don't take it out of the skull?
I'm really enjoying your look back at past tv shows and props. Thank you for caring about the past. I grew up during the 60 and 70, and this brings back great memories. Just want to let you know.
Me too, I loved this Show as a Child, early 70's we got it in the UK, and I loved all the Characters, as they had different names to the ones in the films, and I saw the Series before I knew the films, URKO the Gorilla Captain, and Gaelon the Chimp were Cornelius, and the Gorilla I didn't even remember his name from the Movies, the Rifle held aloft, in the opening credits was an Iconic memory for me, the Gorilla on a Horse, holding his M14 Rifle, disguised as a Ape made weapon
It actually doesn't take place in 3085. After the crash, the spaceship's chronometer reads 3085, however Alan states this was just the date when it stopped working and can't be relied on to be an accurate current date. Zaius mentions the arrival of other human astronauts ten years earlier (referring to Taylor), putting the date just after the original movie.
The problem with it is, it can’t be the same Dr. Zaius. There was no attempt to make the two characters look the same (even though thy were two different actors, the makeup could have at least been made to look the same,) the original two films took place on the east coast, the tv series on the west coast, communication between the coasts was probably non-existent, and no character from the films appears in the tv show (except Zaius, who I believe really isn’t the same character.) in addition, they were all dead after the first two films when people couldn’t speak, but in the tv series they could. The show must take place in the time loop between Battle For the Planet Of The Apes and the original film. The reference to other astronauts doesn’t make sense unless it happened a third time. None of this adds up to him being the same Dr. zaius. Possibly the tv show Zaius is an ancestor, or maybe just a more common name? Timeline repeating time loop: 3084 TV series 3950 POTA 3955 Beneath 1973 Escape 1991 Conquest 2001 Battle for 2600 Lawgiver speech bookending Battle 3979 Cartoon Cycle repeats. The odd one out is the cartoon. It features Zira, Cornelius, Zaius, Yet takes place in the timeline after the earth is destroyed. Unless it’s a separate timeline. It would have made more sense had it taken place a few years before the tv series. At least then it COULD be what Zaius refers to as astronauts landing a few years before in the tv series. I’m saying the tv show HAS to occur long before the original film before humans lost the power of speech and intelligence.
Thanks for the video, good to see some love for this tv show. If memory serves me right, here in the UK it aired on Sunday nights around 7pm, I was 11 years old and adored it!

@@LannieLord I just looked it up and was 13th October 1974 till January 1975 never seen it since. Loved it !!
Did the UK get the Kolchak The Night Stalker series too ? @@paulsowney771
Thank you for bring back my childhood, I was one of them kid fans that loved that show.
Awesome video! I remember watching this as a kid, and it was one of my favorites. Along with Night Stalker, and the Six Million Dollar Man.
You got to see the 6 million episode where Austin uses his bionic arm , mainly hand as an impact wrench on head bolts on aircraft engine then runs across field with motor on back, my ole man was like what the f. is going on, it was hilarious.
You give me more blasts from the past than my Vietnam flashbacks.
Haha not sure if that's good or bad LOL:-) Dan
Hopefully they're good ones. 🫡
I remember watching this in the '70's on a Sunday in the UK. Loved it.
Wow, I never realized that was him.
I was born in 1965, so a lot of your subject matter is right up my alley. I loved this series and I have the DVD set. I remember one Friday when we went camping and took a little portable B&W TV with us so that I wouldn't miss the episode. I hope you cover Kolchak: The Night Stalker.
That was a GLORIOUS Year 1974! And how awesome was it that Apes and Kolchak were on the same night !?
The difference a day makes. You state over 17k subscribers (whenever you actually made the video) yesterday and 1 day later you’re at 19.3k. Congratulations! I look forward to the video about the metal ship used and whatever happened to it (scrapped or purchased?)!
Thanks for this trip down memory lane. I remember The Planet of the Apes so well. The toys and that tree house I got for Christmas as a kid. Thanks for your awesome recap!! Gen X!!
This was my number one favourite TV show at the time of broadcast in England. It certainly feels like more episodes were made to me than just 14!
Met David Naughton at a convention last year and I had NO IDEA he and James were related. WOW. And I am a HUGE Apes fan - Like, I have a display in my office full of Apes collectibles. Great video, thank you!
That was a new fact to me too.
Not too long ago, one of my local over-the -air channels was playing the original series on Sunday mornings. It was the first time I saw all the episodes. Loved it.
Oh wow that is really cool. That must mean it's still in syndication?
It was on MeTv a couple of years ago on Saturday night at 3 in the morning.
@@davidmitchell6873 It could very well have been on my local MeTv, I can't be sure. If I had seen the Apes episode too recently, I would switch stations and watch The Green Hornet :)
@@MoviesMusicMonsters We have 2 "classis TV" ota stations here so someone sure had the rights :) They didn't look remastered but they were darn good quality.
You are touching on some of my favourite episodes in the tv show, love this when I was a kid in the 70's, still do now.
I remember this series coming out when I was a small kid. I also remember it was such a huge hit that my local grocery store even sold Planet of The Apes masks made out of cardboard... I loved those days! ❤
Two of your passions combined as Irwin Allen used John Chambers “Dr. Zaius” Makeup for ‘Fugitives in Space’ in 1968; but that’ll be a Future Story…
Keep Up the Awesome Work 🛸
Hey, thank you so much. Yes that makeup was supposedly stolen and used on Lost in Space without permission, I understand there was quite an issue with it :-) I'll definitely touch on that in the future, thanks for the support :-) Dan
MeTV started showing the series a few years ago around 4am on Sunday morning and I was up watching it! Wish they were still showing it 😔
I remember my Mom baught me the forbettin zone playset. Loved playing with that set because it had a big net. Sadly couldnt find to buy any figures in the 80s. I use to use the play set forbetten zone city with my Master of the universe action figures. Played with it for hours, it was fun having that play set.❤❤❤❤❤
That's really cool to know :-) Dan
@@MoviesMusicMonstersI don't like the sequels to the original film, but I actually like the series.
@@ShinobiShaman if you discount the Tim Burton remake film and look at the new (Andy Serkis) films as the history that Cornelius and Zira explain when under aresst, they can fit in a time line
Natalie Trundy had Roles in Four of the Planet of the Apes films. She played a Mutant in Beneath, A Doctor who befriends Cornelius and Zira in Escape, and a Female Ape who was a love Interest for Ceasar in Conquest and Battle.
It's still on. I watch it on one of my Roku channels and UA-cam.
OMG!!! I had the treehouse!!!
My action figures where so happy in the treehouse!!!!
Thank you for the awesome flashback!!!!
I was 14-years-old when the TV series debuted and enjoyed it. I recently found the original 14 episodes and revisited them. Thanks for filling in all the gaps over what happened and why. Really interesting stuff. Thank you.
During the intro about how few episodes were made, my first thought was "Man I loved this show as a kid".
Thank you for covering this. I was in junior high (8th grade) when this series premiered and I LOVED IT‼️
Thank God they made the 1968 ape flick with Heston so that all the other water-downed ripoff remakes, sequels, prequels, etc. can be compared to what was a truly great Sci Fi film, the original Planet of the Apes. Forget everything else. Nothing else can stand up to Heston's '68 movie.
Yup, the original film is only thing that ever comes to mind when I think of Planet of the Apes.
Despite Hestons "acting".
Matt Reeves’s two films are very good though
I agree. He has us time traveling to an era children of today wouldn't have any idea about.
I was the same age as you ! I hated sports though.
Thanks for the childhood flashback!.. I was 7 years old... I cried like a baby when they canceled this show.. lol. My 1st experience with a canceled TV show..
I was 11 - very disappointed!
Just stumbled across your channel, where has it been all my life! Love the content, please keep doing what you are doing. Much love from Texas.
RIP Ron Harper (1933-2024)
After it aired here in the USA ; Fall thru Christmas 1974: it was TOTALLY FORGOTTEN.
Thank you!!!!!! Early eighties child who was and is obsessed with the magic of the original movies and tv series! Fantastic memories!
Just found your channel today & so glad I did!! REALLY enjoying your content! Thanks!
Hey, thanks so much :-) really appreciate it. Dan
This was great, by halfway you'd already told me half a dozen things that blew my mind ! Thanks, a show that had a big effect on me in my childhood.
Dan, I love the vids, man. Please keep them coming!!!!!
Hey, thank you so much. The support is appreciated:-) Dan
I had forgotten about this series.... Thank you for revisiting this classic show.
I asked my mother, "Why haven't we been watching Planet of the Apes recently?" She said, "Well, they stopped showing it on TV." "Why?" "Well, it wasn't very popular." "What does 'popular' mean?" "It means nobody liked it." And I responded, "Well, _I_ liked it."
Similarly, a friend of mine loaned me the animated Planet of the Apes series on DVD several years ago. My son, probably about 10 at the time, absolutely loved it.
Very time on the channel. Great video! Looking forward to more.
Ah, but do you have "TIME OF THE APES" on dvd? 🤪
Roddy McDowall was a true treasure. 👍🏽✌🏾
Thanks for this. It was an awesome show and until now never knew why it got cancelled. Same as Logan's run, the series.
Yeah comma I've been looking to do a video on Logan's run period but it seems like they suffered the same fate period Fate
Thanks, I did assume that. But you can't even find it to watch anywhere. It's like it never existed. Lol
Excellent research. I own the gorilla suit from "The Horse Race" episode. You have earned my subscription.
Awesome video. I was in high school when this came out. I loved it. Too bad it didn't continue. Keep up the good work!!!
Hey, thank you so much :-) I truly appreciate the support. Cheers, Dan
@@MoviesMusicMonsters "Planet of the Apes" was terrible. They had to recycle the same basic plot over and over, blatant social commentary, not all that good.

@@MoviesMusicMonsters Nice!!
WOW, Dan, have loved all your videos. Loved this series. I was 8 years old. I'm glad you are doing this for fans of all of the older shows.
Most memorable scene to me:
Urko : Ahh yes.
Didn't you just love those old network movie of the week animations.
I finally watched all the 14 episodes on DVD.I plan on watching them again.Thank you.I wasn't aware of the the edited versions.
When I was a kid watching this in the 70's I thought the 2 main characters were the same actors who played starkly and hutch. 😂
Haha :-) yes I see the similarities
Me too, I loved this Show as a Child, early 70's we got it in the UK, and I loved all the Characters, as they had different names
to the ones in the films, and I saw the Series before I knew the films, URKO the Gorilla Captain, and Gaelon the Chimp
were Cornelius, and the Gorilla I didn't even remember his name from the Movies, the Rifle held aloft, in the opening credits
was an Iconic memory for me, the Gorilla on a Horse, holding his M14 Rifle, disguised as a Ape made weapon
Fantastic Dan, have also just watched the one on The Time Machine, Battlestar Galactica next, keep up the great work!
Hey, thank you so much. I appreciate the support more than you know :-) cheers, Dan
Hi, just found your channel and I'm so glad I did! Great job!
I am still pissed that they cancelled it. Every Fantasy show from the 70's seemed to only last a season or less!
Yeah, definitely died too early :-( thanks for the support :-) Dan
Yeah, remember Quark? I can't even find proof that that show even existed.
Maybe my favorite "What Happened" presentation yet! "Bananas!" LOL!!!! And the scream sound effect cracked me up, too! Great work!
Excellent work
The problem with it is, it can’t be the same Dr.
Timeline repeating time loop:
3084 TV series
3950 POTA
3955 Beneath
1973 Escape
1991 Conquest
2001 Battle for
2600 Lawgiver speech bookending Battle
3979 Cartoon
Cycle repeats.
I love your passion for these old shows. I was twelve when this tv series broadcast.
I love that cool image of Roddy McDowell in full ape make up wearing shades. It would make a great t-shirt!
Roddy was a cool dude !!!! Love the shades 😀
