I think because you split the coloured channels into each of the R,G and B channels of the decoder, if you move multiple channels on your DMX controller you'll get multi coloured strips
You have to use some kind of USB to DMX converter or you can use our Ethernet controller (which has digital SPI output as well as DMX output). We support Enttec Open DMX USB device in our LED Strip Studio software.

If you don't want the strip to be only one solid color use "dreamcolor" lights!

does this work with windows 10 64 bit? everytime i launch it it crashes
If you mean LED Strip Studio software yes, it works. We develop in on Windows 10 64bit.
