There a chance the hook will rust and brake down. If you pull it more it will increase the odds of a fish kill. Hook in water brake down. Not much you can do.
The enzymes in a fish will deteriorate that hook pretty quickly and go away. Thats the most popular and effective way to do it. I mostly fish barbless hooks so they can be removed pretty easily even when the fish swallow them. Thanks. May God Bless. jimmy
