I cracked up so bad when Jola was reading FK's husband's "letter". Jola is effortlessly hilarious 😂😂😂😂 This episode went from a high note to a reflective one. The best duo fr❤
Only on this episode, we were promised Mazino, Pastor Kola and uncle Tunde (👀even though Jola has been saying it since) Anyways will be looking forward to it😂 Really enjoyed this episode and it made me ponder on things I might be doing because of the time I’ve spent on it, even though it isn’t working out, will be making some changes. How someone can be laughing one minute and then start reflecting when listening needs to be studied! Best in podcast for a reason🙌🏽
Yoruba culture has gele styles to symbolize when a woman is married or single. Even the style of her Ipele can also signify her marital status. For the gele, when the end/tail is leaning to the right it indicates a Woman is married and when its end/tail is leaning to the left it indicates a Woman is Single. Although the round gele is now popular and post-colonial society makes it difficult to keep up intricate traditions, where the tail of the gele faces was a tell tale of status.
But how will we see both of them’s facial expressions at the same time if they don’t split the screen? 😭 they’re sitting opposite each other not beside.
For the final conversation, from a Christian POV, I'd we should learn to walk in alignment with God's plan for us. Ascertian every choice before moving. Christains often do this thing where pack our load, get to the airport and ask God for journey mercies... meanwhile we are supposed to ask God if we are to go on the journey before hitting road. Plus our God is a God of process and also a God of "suddenly". Some of us will take time before we getting to our destination. Bottomline is we will move, but ofcourse some people will move faster.
Jola's point about how young Nigerians keep having hope that may never materialise hit me hard. I'm struggling to give up on Nigeria getting better or at least getting a good president that can really make good changes to governance and the overall mindset/behaviour of our leaders. It'll really be painful to admit this. Would it mean I start thinking of another nationality for my kids at least? Can I afford that? What kind of changes in lifestyle and investment are necessary to make this happen? So, it's easier to just keep hoping that Nigeria will be better... Na so we dey hope, 8 years of Bubu don happen and now 4 or 8 years of Bat go still happen. And time is passing by!
What an engaging episode! Well done, ladies 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Thank you for being so honest, especially in the last segment. "Old identity can sabotage new plans for change". "...you can't get too attached to one version of your identity".- Atomic Habits by James Clear. Please get this book (audiobook if you don't want to read): you'll encounter many "Aha moment" gems there. Love you both ❤
The first time I can really relate to what is being discussed. letting go of your dream life after doing a 10 year in-depth analysis of your life. As a millennial I can relate. If we really think about it, we are not really doing bad I guess
😂😂😂 The scream reenactment. Awww. Congratulations, Dimma. We rarely get to know the why behind the rules. Enugu reigns at fish and beer. 😂 I love Abacha and Okpa. Yes o. Oya, share your own deep thoughts. 😂 "Let me be your G so I can own the spot,"😂😂😂 The cost of letting go is tough! Pivoting is hard. No moral lesson. Just Eyah. 🥺🥺🥺
I might be wrong but I think the aso oke type was historically used as an indicator of whether the maiden is single or not. I think also the iro and buba style I.e. oleku, as well
I am so vexed by the first dilemma, like I honestly feel like cursing him out. Imagine if the reverse was the case, the sisters would definitely share. I just find it to be a nasty and wicked behavior for you to have an avenue to help out your sisters financially and you lie about having debts. What'd the difference between your dad and yourself. Very triggering and downright annoying. I am sorry, but I am indeed pissed. Koshi man. Long hiss

Is it until we carry placard to protest against for this split screen thing🌚👽??? We no want! Who else is with me please?

Watch till the end, the split screen is just for the initial 30 minutes
