The conversation on using wealth to push issues that matter to you is so hugely important. Women’s health will only improve significantly when enough women with means invest in the research and push policies that benefit us. It’s bigger than individual financial arrangements
The three wise women that was sent to give Jesus birthday gift are amongst us! Deep conversations, well thought out explanations, very intelligent, very mindful, very prim and proper guest, top tier episode!❤
I really loved this episode, my absolute favourite episode this season. I kept saying "Exactly" and "That's it" because it resonated so much with me. Also, Rewa is so cool and demure. I'll definitely watch this again and again. It's giving grownupicity!
Oh how I LOVED this episode. Money really is power. You guys have given me a lot to ponder on. Especially the conversation around how much of your beliefs you would compromise for someone that you want to be in a relationship with. Omo I can’t lie I’d rather stay single like Jola’s older friend cause when we really deep it, we attach more worth to marriage sometimes than what the reality is
Totally agree with Rewa about being a housewife… I don’t see any wisdom in being a dependent as an adult. You only have two parents, depending on your partner to feed, clothe and house you🤦🏾♀️ it’s real risky. If you don’t have your own wealth you need to be working to at the very least meet your basic needs, that’s no one else’s responsibility. Children or not, you’re not a child to be in the position of a dependent; use foresight and don’t set yourself up for misery.
As a young wife with 3 young kids, this episode left me even more very sad and really downcast. The guest talking about housewives like they are some kind of dumb/lazy women that just find excuse to lazy about is utterly disappointing. She is got 1 kid in a country like Nigeria with great support system. It is a different ball game with you have multiple little kids and no support. I had to choose a stay at home and raise my kids, because one person had to. It’s a sacrifice I had to make and It’s totally unfair to talk about housewives like it’s a bad thing. Do you know the sacrifices and hardwork that comes with the role ?? We say women should support each other and you come on here and bash housewives. And if you think being a housewife is nothing but lazing around then you have a problem and you need to be in touch with reality.
No one isn't saying you aren't doing a lot. You are seen and appreciated. But it's not the best decision to be financially dependent on another person...as an adult. There are a plethora of situations where this can end up badly. Even if you are a stay at home, there are things you can do from the comfort of your home. You can also have savings.... because truly, no one sees ugly circumstances coming their way. God forbid your husband isn't there to provide anymore - either by choice or as a result of life just doing it's thing, what do you then do?
Very powerful episode! I’m not a stay at home mum, however, I feel a lot more grace should be accorded women who are in that situation due to one reason or the other. The guest sounded very dismissive on that topic even though she may be speaking from her own reality which may be a privileged position. Not to give excuses or say women should not find a job/make money but sometimes, someone has to make sacrifices esp in the cases of multiple kids in their growing phase.
pausing at 39:00-- very sure the hosts don't agree with Rewa's opinion on the first dillemma lmfaooo, they for don say "burn it down, prioritize yourself, find a non stingy man" etc 🤣
I noticed that too, but you see that’s where life experiences come in… Rewa who has been married and now divorced was actually quick to say the lady should work on the marriage, and really check if the cons outweigh the pros THAT MUCH. Also when she said the lady shouldn’t think that because she and her husband are not invested like that again, divorce would be easy. Experience ❤ I love love love this episode
You can take care of me but it won't stop me from earning or utilizing my skills or gaining them to stay current for situation that might come up. Personally, realistically there will be situations where you might have to be home with your children which will affect your career and livelihood, so it is important that you're not necessarily dependent solely on a spouse. Savings, plannings etc should go into it and spacing for children to get back into the workforce while still being flexible at keeping a balance. I don't like leaving things to chance so i cant exactly ever be a full time housewife but for those months where I'll be out of work, proper planning has to go into it. I just can't be blind to totally depend on another person. Thankfully God has been faithful
This was such an empowering episode. As a woman i am so inspired and feel so empowered to do more and better.. The guest was such an icing on the cake... Thank you beautiful women Please you people should be subscribing o 😂
From what I gather, the decision not to have children amongst some younger couples (Gen Z and younger Millenials specifically) is driven by not wanting to pass on generational trauma of their boomer and silent generation parents, who mostly due to no fault of theirs didn’t do a great job as parents. As a Gen X with silent gen parents (one of whom is late) and a millennial child of her own that I love with all my heart and soul , I can totally relate and understand why some might choose this way of life.
Interesting viewpoint. I’m curious about this silent generation you mentioned, what group is that? I’m a Gen X myself and just going by the name, my parents are possibly part of the silent generation.
I think women should stop expecting other women to coddle them when they make potentially dangerous decisions. The fact that y'all are writing essays bc a woman says she has no empathy for SAHMs (especially since it has been statistically and anecdotally proven to be dangerous and crippling to women who have done it) is funny. Being a SAHM is work, grueling work, but in this capitalist society where money is pretty much everything, relying on the benevolence of a partner for money is a terrible idea and they need to start blaring it from the rooftops.
Oral histories and tales by moonlight were for social use, for governmental use (often perceived as secret societies) there were written records. Guess where they went…something to do with missionaries yes 😂
Wallahi 😂 the way literally said what she said ehn😂 but then again she explained how her mom and all her friends are working women, so it made sense. But still sha 😭🤣
43:03 she doesn’t mind and there’s nothing to use to win you over. The thought of “I’ve already married her, so there’s no need to woo her or make her want me”… the lady has lost her feminine power in the relationship, he probably looks at you as a “bro” now
Ignorance flying everywhere in this episode... Not every episode i can actually get knowledge. #thisepisodenotgoodformyspirit. What the heck! I don't want to feel offended honestly.
I just really love how soft spoken the guest sounds

I love the guest take on most matters discussed, but I do feel she could have been more nuanced with the SAHM discussion.
