    I remember one of my first jobs as a delivery driver, there were 2stations which late at night would go back and forth one was classical and the other was mostly top 40 hits and if i was tired enough and the songs lined up right, it was like a new form of jazz

    Schematic circuit is not shown otherwise layout of component shown is good but still difficult to understand .thanks for the approach.

    To get the audio from this set to your PC you may consider an audio isolation transformer so there is no risk of damaging your PC's sound card.
    Also YES you can use standard 2N222's, I built one off the same diagram you used with 222's in the TO-92 package and it works fine. I even tested it with my Motorola service monitor / signal generator.
    A more "ready to use" option would be to buy an SDR that does HF band off ebay and go that route with SDR#.

      ElfNet Gaming I built my SW receiver based on much simpler design. I also used TO-92 one but paired with 1N34 germanium dionde. Because, without that i has very noisy reception. After applying diode on the output it works fine.

    just make a coil (90 turns of magnet wire on 2 popsickle sticks), and connect it to a diode circuit w/ antenna, ground (from the ground connector in your elec. outlet), and to an amplifier, and just fool w/ it. I got local channels w/ 2-3 SW channels!!!

    Greetings, I needed a SW for sports radios in Europe, mostly England and Spanish/Italian if possible. Can you guys tell me if this is possible living in Portugal and what is the best equipment for that? Appreciate it

      First of all, thanks for the answer.
      The solutions you provided are not viable, unfortunately. I want to have the least delay possible as I trade football markets so online radio is not a option, neither the bar..

      Radio exterior de España and BBC purposes Primera Liga and Premier League matches. RFI sometimes purposes ligue 1 matches but it's very rare.

    Like this video very much . Could You please tell me more about the antenna . Is it 14 turns of bell wire wound on the frame or is it wound around the whole area of the shade.hope this isn't confusing

    • @XtalProject
      @XtalProject  8 років тому

      Hi Mike, Wound round the frame - so you could imagine achieving the same result with an 18 inch diameter hoop - or indeed using a 18 inch wooden cross and having 12 - 20 turns around its perimeter. If you had a lot of wire and a handy tree then tying the loose end of the wire to a rock and chucking it over/into the tree would work equally as well .

      k thanks ... I thought that was just extra hook up wire wrapped around the perimeter.Very neat idea . Ive heard of umbrella frames , mattress frames ... this is great .... "a loop with a view" lol

    am trying to repair with upgrade a 7 transistor panasonic radio of 80s superheterodyne ..and dont have is circuit dgm...caj anybody help how to put a uv meter in the circuit ..at which area of the circuit can i insert and how? The circuit consists of a rf section with one transistor and 3 respective coils for medium sw1.and sw2 .,3 stages of IF amplification with 3 transistors one audio driver with one transistor and two pushpull transistors for out AF powwr stage.

    Wrong link. The link you provide is for a completely different radio. can you provide the link for the radio you build in your video? Btw the video is excellent. But I haven't gotten your radio to work yet. Transistor pin layout doesn't match the small grey arrows. Do they indicate the direction Re should face?

      Removed link. Product design has changed although the name and link have not.

    Why the 2N2222 must be in metal package?

    • @XtalProject
      @XtalProject  8 років тому +1

      They are easier to spread and maintain sufficient distance from each of the legs and their retaining screws/cups . The modern alternatives are just too brittle for this task - they were not designed for this neanderthal schematic.
