Fifty years back New Zealand was leading progress everywhere. I organised a basketball at Paparoa prison near Christchurch. Their first outing saw them play their way into the final where they went down to the only semi-pro, Coc Cola. The margin was embarrassing. Months of conversation and progress, internationally.
