    Another awesome build man, I was just wondering about the top coat you use. When full dry does it easily scratch? How long do you usually wait before assembling the kit?

    This is fantastic! I'd love to replicate this stunning buster build. Could you please clarify the number of topcoat layers to apply per part? It seems like you apply two coats in the video. Is that the recommended amount?

    • @Armstudiogunplaspeedbuild
      @Armstudiogunplaspeedbuild  Рік тому +1

      It just for show in the video. Actually spray more than that. Start with thin layer. Turn the part around, make sure all areas are applied. Wait until it dry and redo it 2-3 time.

    Awesome work!!! I’m a gundam SEED fan working on my MG Freedom 2.0. Quick question do you ever use Gloss clear as base top coat before panel lining (Tamiya) and then at the very end use Flat top coat? I use Mr. Hobby brand. Thank you!

    • @Armstudiogunplaspeedbuild

      I normally dont do that. Do you panel lining on bare plastic or painted part?

    • @uge2616
      @uge2616 Рік тому

      I haven’t yet. I’m only planning on panel lining on bare plastic. Some people are saying if I use Tamiya Panel line on bare plastic it could end up cracking the plastic. Hence, using base coat of gloss coating so that I am panel lining on the gloss coat and not on the bare plastic itself. Once all that is done they recommended topcoating it with gloss/flat/matte base on my preferences.

      @@uge2616 from my experience most crack happen when panel line stuck in seam line instead of panel line. To avoid this mistake, i do panel line each part first then assembly later. Gloss coat would help but i think it’s too much work and paint. It is unnecessary since we know the root cause.

    • @Armstudiogunplaspeedbuild
      @Armstudiogunplaspeedbuild  10 місяців тому

      Tamiya TS-80 Flat topcoat is lacquer paint. Lacquer paint is the most harmful compared to enamel and acrylic paint. Enamel paint mostly use for panel lining. There are not many acrylic paint for topcoat. I have tried some which was not that good. So, I believe that lacquer paint is common for topcoat. I have used lacquer paint topcoat on decal more than 50 kits, no problem at all. Until I tried new water slide decals brand. I noticed that it is quite thin compared to other brands. After applying topcoat, the decals become frayed. Also last month I built Tamiya car model. The water slide decals are also thin and the same problem happened. Do you think why do they write it on the can?. What is the real problem?

    • @Armstudiogunplaspeedbuild
      @Armstudiogunplaspeedbuild  2 роки тому +2

      @@Eizyraa Yes but we can avoid that. From my experience, most cracks happened when ink stuck in seam line rather than panel line. When ink stuck in seam line, it takes longer time to dry which means more time to erode plastic. It could happen when you do panel line after assemble. It is better to do panel line before assemble for some parts. if you are not sure, just do panel line on each part first then assemble later
