Been enjoying the union canal this summer , never have much luck on the forth n Clyde but like anywhere as you know it takes time to learn the water. Good fishing as always.
Another great upload Nicolas, as usual. I must say that the canal looks "very fishy" Lovely location. Thank you for sharing your special moments with us. Phil.
This is really on my door step Phil . Always good to spend a couple of hours with the rod in hand . There is still some fish to be caught and released and the litter louts have left ...Looking good
All on my doorstep basically Kayaking northeast , some folks think the canal is rubbish , it can certainly be improved but still a great water to learn how to fish .
@@NicolasValentinScotland yeah I visit west coast alot especially around loch etive, I got the bug while living on isle of Skye for 2 years it was absolutely stunning in all weather and great fishing.
Not too late , actually this is a good time using lures , there is less weed in the water and it's worth having a go , fish close to the margins , do not reel fast and keep on casting .
I used to fish a few years ago on the forth and Clyde canal. When I was a kid I never caught a fish then tried a different location and got 3 pike in a few hours. It's probs changed now but the best place was near Banknock and Haggs
Been fishing the stretch of canal between drumchapel right up to bowling and only caught 2 pike in a few months, used micro lures to bigger lures it's disappointing at times!
@@NicolasValentinScotland haven't been up as far as bishopbriggs right enough , unfortunately drumchapel, clydebank and along isn't kept well lots of rubbish chucked in and lying around so isn't good to fish at times also
@@keiranrenton1542 I agree , my spot are very weedy , but less rubbish as well . And less tossers , well worth exploring sometime , walk and cast and keep on going .
I fish the stretch from clydebank to bowling. Great for perch it use to be a hot spot for pike back in the day. Not so much anymore. I'm getting on my bike and head up to Maryhill/ruchill way.
@@garveybhoy1105 hey mate , Saw a couple of comments on a few videos I was wondering if you knew of any good places to fish for pike ? I am just getting into the pike fishing and I am from Edinburgh , stay right next to the viewforth canal - polwarth area , do you know if there is any pike in there ? Or any places close that might be worth a shot ? :)
@@NicolasValentinScotland hey mate , just looking through a few videos and was wondering if you know of any decent areas to fish for pike ? I stay in Edinburgh , polwarth area right next to the viewforth canal. Any areas worth trying ? :)
@@NicolasValentinScotland Thank you brother, I also join the Scottish Federation of Coarse Angling and pay for 8 pounds to get fishing permit. Is this necessary? I m a new person of lure fishing so I want to get there to have a practice.
Not easy right now because of the weed , I use light tackle and small shad but the very thin brain is still 20lb . Most fish are quite small , with a few bigger one about . Stay on the move if you want to catch , no point sitting in the same spot . Voyager , good luck pal .

Is it bishopbriggs , kirkintilloch or firhill do you know and was it early morning or afternoon
I know I was there bishopbriggs in the afternoon
Can we fish in canal on January? I also don’t that can lockdown avoid fishing.
if the canal is close to your home and not frozen you can fish Xia Liu . You can fish local with one other friend , no more .
In january the fishing is slow and the water very cold , but the fish are the same . Much harder to catch in the winter Xia
