Proud of u Dr.ashraf...
Thank you Dr Ashraf for this informative session especially for the part where you discussed the criteria to stop treatment....
Just wanted to ask you 1 query...
If a Hep-B patient perfectly fits in the criteria to stop treatment.... then after stopping the treatment.... on f'up of this patient, what investigations should we go for to detect 're-activation' of HBV?
@@drsm1251 HBV DNA,ALT,HbeAg initially 3-6 monthly .
HbeAg positive, Alt < 2 times normal, DNA very high: whether to treat
Nice lecture 👍
Nice
But peg interferon alpha is not used because permanent treatment and administration along with cost are difficult
Yes I told the same....Peg IFN is not used usually in hepatitis B except when u have co existent hepatitis D infection!
Thank you sir
if HbsAg becomes negative after two subsequent test, then what should we do?
but i also have to send HBe antibody, otherwise how will i know whether it a regular hepatitis infection where HBe antigen has been neutrailized by HBe antibody or whether it is pre core mutant??
What should be the usual frequency of hep b monitoring on follow up on Rx normally And in grey zone (not on Rx) ?
3-6 monthly
Hello Sir, is this data is also been followed in 2022-23 for final prof. students or is there any change required in this ?
This is guideline based. This holds good at present since the current drugs have high efficacy and low resistance
@@THEWHITEARMY thank you Sir.
Sir is biopsy necessary to start treatment even if transaminitis is more than two times and HBV DNA is more than 20k?
No biopsy is not necessary in those cases...
Biopsy is done only we are not sure about the benefit of the antiviral treatment without biopsy
after how much time we have to repeat HBeag LFT fibroscan HBV DNA after the start of treatment?
LFT-3 monthly,HBV DNA/HbeAg 6 monthly...
fr cirrhotic patient we start the treatment irrespective of LFT AND HBV DNA level?
sir i have one doubt
pregnant female at 20 wks pog with hbeag +; sgpt
I feel if HBV DNA level is
