Tractor trailer left hanging off the freeway after heavy rain

  • If you remember towards the end of my last rollover video, I had to take off to an emergency job; this is it! The description I got was a tractor trailer dangling over an overpass, but when I arrived I saw it was actually teetering over the embankment. Normally, the preferred method is "the way it went in, is the way it's coming out", but the dirt hill it was stuck on made that very difficult. I risked damaging both tractor, trailer, and property if I tried to pull it straight back.
The next method was to physically lift and swing it back to the freeway using both Hulk, my 50ton rotator, and "Old Yeller", my dad's 60ton rotator. The recovery fought us more than expected, but as always we were able to get it out and back onto the road so our tow unit, aka The Beast, can take the customer back to his yard.

Hi Josh, I am here because of the kind words spoken about this channel by @Ray H. Ray was saying that you were very respectful in a comment over on Ron Pratt's channel. I have been watching and I must agree with Ray. You have earned my sub and I look forward to your future content. Additionally, I'm going to recommend your channel to some friends. I am hopeful others will share the channel as well. Come on everybody! Lets see how fast we can get Josh to 50k and then 100k subs. Keep up the good work and thank you for the vids Josh. Excellent job getting that out without doing more damage than it took going in. I feel for that poor driver. Dragging an empty 53' van around with a 2-axle class 7 seven tractor in the rain is a recipe for disaster. It wasn't a lack of skill or negligence on his part at all. He must have had to come to a sudden slow down or stop, tapped the brake pedal then the truck went where it wanted to. At the end of the day, no blood, the tractor is repairable, and a dime says that the trailer has had the mud washed off and has been reloaded and back out on the road. The company will have a tow bill to submit to their insurance provider that should include a large tip. The major damage was to the driver's pride. I sure hope that he went to an ER to get checked out and that they gave him some good drugs for the next few days because he's going to be one sore trucker inside and out. Great scenic video of sunny four-season So Cal. Peace!

I have done a lot of work driving for the company that owns that truck and trailer. That driver is a very good driver, been working there for quite some time. Just an unfortunate situation he got into this time.

Poor guy, he was very nice and professional. Unfortunately, these freeways after the first rain are pretty bad, and he was empty on a single rear axle tractor, which is a recipe for disaster. He rode with my dad back to the shop and was treated very very friendly. Glad he's OK!

@@PepesTowingService I have driven many of their trucks, all in good condition. Ca roads ae hell after a rain. I jack knifed a cabover myself on the 10 many years back. Happens so fast. Glad he is OK.
