Seeing Damon crying was something I didn’t expect at all… And yet somehow that made it more painful. Ultimately though, I think Eva being the first killer fits in with the chapter’s theme of hypocrisy. Especially since most of Eva’s problems were caused by Eva herself and not anyone else. It was Eva who chose to lie to everyone more than once and pushed them away. She lied about her talent. She lied about the files so people wouldn’t see she was a mathlete under the guise of protecting everyone. It was Eva who pushed away and betrayed Diana who gave her more than one opportunity to have a friend and be accepted into the group despite her differing opinions. And ultimately she had Damon, the only person who agreed with her views standing with her and yet she used him and tried to throw him under the bus when she was trapped in a corner during the trial. And it was her who killed Wolfgang, the guy who said she was dangerous and ended up proving him right. And the end of the day, she blamed everyone else there for her problems. Yeah they’re not innocent in this either but at the same time, Eva is the one who proved everyone right in being afraid or wary of her. The first chapter is about hypocrisy. And it is very fitting that the killer be dripping in it. Someone who until the very end never took responsibility. I think it’s honestly very smart.

Funny how "the ultimate Liar" Eva is a failed master liar and backstabber. When I heard the ultimate it immediately reminded me of kokichi. Sadly he lied to everyone shoved everyone away and even backstabbed correctly but noone could do shit to him. Eva can't do it cause as she says "she's normal". Kokichi is literally like 3rd or 4th smartest Danganronpa character
It’s also important to note that despite Wolfgang preaching unity, he went out of his way to make Damon and Eva outcasts for having polar opposite opinions and views. And it was Damon who told her not to tell everyone else about the secret message which fed fire to her distrust, leading her to solving the puzzle by herself which led to the traitor’s perk being forced upon her, putting her in a position where she had to kill someone. It just so happened it was much more easier since almost everyone didn’t like her. She most likely never had a real friend so she probably thought of Diana and Damon as just like the rest. I ain’t justifying her behavior of course. But the way I see it…this could have been avoided if they didn’t give Eva and Damon the mob mentality treatment. A murder is bound to happen once you isolate someone. Double if you treat them like a prisoner that needs to be watched every waking moment.
It’s crazy that I got a feeling that Tozu intentionally slowed down the escalator just so then Eva can almost reach the top and fall by trying to hold on to the doll.
Gruesomeness and sadness aside, the animation in the execution is more fluid than what I've seen in Danganronpa. Hats off to the animators, this execution was wild
It’s such a small detail, but the subtle animation of Eva turning to face the collar around 0:30 really stood out to me. It added a sense of dimension.
for me what hurt the most was the way everyone was talking after the execution, people cared way more than Wolfgangs death than hers, instantly diving into his. Especially after her whole monologue about her feeling like this was actively her only option, and how noone would even care if she died or care too much to investigate, Evas fear of being hated and overlooked and powerless being shown in her last moments with her classmates and execution only for everyone to basically have her death as an after thought REALLY hurt man
Honestly, the thing about being killed if she didn't kill is the saddest part about all of this. Given her ultimate talent, there was no real way to escape this result either.
Honestly i missed the vocals of the original, and kind of wanted more fx on sound, like when she got impaled it shouldve been more aggresive skin perforing sounds and maybe a scream like in Kirumi excecution, flames sound etc, bc the visuals are there but the sound effects kind of were underwhelming and lessened the brualism😊
What’s more ironic here was that the moment the chained collar caught Eva’s neck, she was trying to hold on to Wolfgang’s podium with her dear life, and yet she killed him regardless. Heck, she even tried to hold on the Cara dummy without knowing it would pop off anyway. In the end, the bullied became the bully and had to face the consequences. Now I wonder the second chapter’s victim and blackened. Since Wolfgang and Eva were like the potential ally/rival that were gotten rid of, I began to wonder if the person who are devoted would survive or not.

Honestly, the designer of this execution has done an absolutely amazing job on this. It really does shows a lot of Eva's personality. I saw a comment that actually analyze this very nicely. The title of her Ultimate is cross out on the "liar" and wrote it down as Mathele, it's like they were mocking her and poking fun at her for lying. For the fire pit, there's a saying "liar, liar, pants on fire", this really relates of how she basically lies and still continues to lie in the trial. The math equipments that is thrown at her represents that no matter what, she'll always use math to try and escape as her advantage even if she doesn't like it. This also could be representing her bullies of her own talent is literally hurting her due to jealousy and hatred around her bullies. The last part with the doll is seriously fuck up. This doll could represent a friend who understands her but in the end, no one is her friend. She dies alone.
Another thing I think is noteworthy is the name of the execution is a reference to a Bible passage, specifically Isaiah 48:10: “See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.” The passage itself refers to how God uses severe physical and mental “afflictions” to test and improve his followers, likening it how metalworkers would use furnaces to purify silver and gold to remove all of the impurities/dross. Similarly, Eva’s execution involves her having to crawl through sharp objects to avoid being burned to death, as well as her post-trial dialogue about how her talent and behaviour had ostracized her from the people around her, symbolizing the “affliction” referenced in the passage. The purification could refer to, much like how the impurities in silver are removed through intense heat, Eva showed her true feelings toward the end of her trial as a (debatably) pathetic person who blamed other people for her lack of connections, and her crying as she has to crawl through sharp nails and protractors to survive her execution. …or I’ve read into this completely wrong idk

I mean after all, the game is basically themed around the Bible. Also another accurate Bible about this is that since Eva's name sounds like Eve, Eva had gave into the temptation to take Tozu offer like the forbidden fruit that Eve in the Bible shouldn't have eaten in the first place. This is just genius writing. The fact that Eva was the first sin, the same way Eve was the first human to sin.

Do you guys think Cara's dummy body will be a reoccuring element in excecutions? I think its interesting how they used *her* specifically to fool Eva instead of, say, a dummy of Damon, Wolfgang or even Diana.
That's what I thought! I think it's going to be a recurring thing like the death of the monobears in V3. Like, the puppet always shows up in some way. Because it doesn't make much sense specifically in Eva's execution, does it? She doesn't even knew her!
I imagine tozu being like: HEY, i barely used this dummy, not using it more would be a waste of money, HEY MARA, use this thing in the executions until there is nothing left, that will add a bit of RAZAMATAZ to the executions
I think Cara’s dummy appearing in Eva’s execution could be foreshadowing that Cara too was a traitor on her own killing game, and her reaching out to eve would be representation that no matter how much they hoped to survive, or for someone to help them, the moment they took their decision they were destined to suffer
I know that people love to theorize about cara. But imo I think it wasn’t about Cara, but what she represented to eva : chapter 0. The time where eva was this mysterious "strong" confident and attention catching "Ultimate liar" a persona she could hide her self loathe and also her massive MASSIVE inferiority complex behind one who people respected and feared. But then upon grabbing her she was reminded of the cold reality : it’s a dummy, and like her persona, it was Fake.
1:57 I never thought I could be feel nostalgic while being so horrified by hearing that charging sound again, I am a little disappointed by the fact we didn’t get the chanting, but that’s a very very very minor nitpick, this chapter is peak. Im still mad how She quite literally pointed out what people were going to do, point her out as a backstabbing snake to feel better about her death, and even tho she told them, they did not care and still Thought about her like that, No one tried to defend her after her death, NO ONE mourned her death, no one tried to be in her shoes, And the only one who kinda did who was diana, Just questioned her way of acting and then completely ignored her death and started talking about wolfgang, until the end when she said it was for the sake of them both, but thats all, Yeah Eva got herself in that situation, But when you think about it, the only two people who trusted her (damon and Diana) at the end did not mourned her death, No one did, Eva died with no one caring about her, and she drive herself to that situation trying to avoid it…just Brilliant, With that said I hope The fanbase acknowledges this and do not treat her like they do with sayaka…
I still feel badly for her. She’s a lying, conniving piece of garbage who killed a (seamingly) good person, but she’s still a person who didn’t deserve to die. I think to some extent, she did care about everyone else.. like Diana and Damon. Also, I think everyone hating on Diana even before she killed someone added to her added to the distrust and not caring about their lives. If everyone was just a little kinder, including WOLFGANG, the LEADER, she may have not even killed him. Kindness is one of the best traits you can show to someone else, it has the power to make people second guess killing someone else which makes it stronger than hatred or something.. and she DESERVED kindness.
Also, does anyone else not find it weird how there are four stairs that surround the fire pit? When Eva is standing in only one of the stairs. Not only that, the other stairs have the math supplies dropped onto them? I might be overthinking but it could mean that Eva doesn't really have a choice. No matter which stairs she was put on, her death is inevitable. Sure, the only she landed on was the closest to the exit door, but in reality, it didn't help her survive at all.
Ngl. I geniunely thought she will be the Kyoko/Maki of the game because of how she was acting Also isn’t it a funny coincidence that the first person we see when we wake up in the killing game was Eva and the second person we see was Wolfgang?
In a way, she’s kind of a reverse Maki. Maki had a dangerous talent (assassin) she covered up with something harmless (babysitter) while Eva had a harmless talent (mathlete) that she covered up with something dangerous (liar)
This execution gave me chicken skin when I first saw it (it doesn’t help that I watched it with my lights off lol) like, at least the oficial games have funky music that kind of help you focus on the absurdity of it and not take it so seriously. With the orchestal soundtrack here, it actually does feel like watching a teenager fight for their life as they’re tortured to death.
I just realised something: when I was looking at the difference between Eva’s pose when she was dragged away vs when she lost her balance clutching onto the Cara doll, the poses are very similar barring the left hand not holding onto anything in the second pose. From 0:56 as the first pose and 3:09 as the second pose btw
This is just my interpretation, but Eva being put on the conveyor belt pushing her back into the fire might have also alluded to her realizing that her efforts, both to fit in and to survive, were for nothing, as she said after the closing argument.

Understandable, but then I ask you? Was knocking out someone, drugging them, making them attack someone else and then killing them to frame someone else really not worthy of a gruesome death, I understand she has no choice really, Tozu was gonna kill her anyways because of her "Perk" but she went through all of this and still believed not only that no one else but her mattered and that she deserved to live but also threw the only person who had slight trust in her under the bus to try and get away with murder. A gruesome death wasn't deserved, but it was her punishment for committing Gruesome crimes.
although i love this execution it feels like the audio mixing is just a bit off. I feel like it would be more tense if the fire and math tools dropping was clearly heard throughout the entire execution (not to overtake the music of course)? It feels like the fire and tools have no impact because of how little sound they make. Esepcially if its so many dropping and such a big fire. It took me out of the execution when playing through the game myself. But the rest of the execution was pretty much flawless and no one talks about the fact that the execution looks like it was made to be usable even if the cast voted wrong (4 lanes on the track would fit 14 people) and makes the execution that much more believable.
Dang, even though she murdered Wolfgang, and threw both Damon and Diana under the bus, I can't really hate her, I just wished both her and Wolfgang survived, I enjoyed all the characters being alive during the prologue, mock trial then Chapter 1's daily life 😭 I'm scared for the next chapter, I really want my other favs to survive, but I don't know if it's true but iirc, there will only be two survivors for this killing game? (not sure if this is accurate or not).
Take into account that this is supposed to mock her for ALL her actions, apart from involving her talent... it involves her fake talent, considering the fire, the fake Neverending stairs and the Cara scene, and the elements that in a way remind you of how she tries to forget about her REAL talent, how it hurts her deeply. This execution is REALLLY planned out, and honestly, I'm still having chills from it even if some time passed now lmao

I knew it was going to be someone from the Dining Hall precisely bcs they had the strongest alibi. That’s a twist. I just hoped it wasn’t either Eva or Mark. And if it had to be one of them, I prefer Mark to be safe over Eva. But, to be more excited I preferred to think it was someone from outside. My most suspicious people were Diana, Toshiko and Ingrid. I was rooting to think it had to be one of them based on what made sense. Diana bcs she had no alibi, and her excuses were convenient. Well turns out she had to do but wasn’t the killer. Ingrid, her headache was too convenient. + she was able to see the party heading down. Toshiko, bcs she return to the pharmacy. Also the thing about the footsteps and the socks and maybe she was lying about Wolfgang. But I just couldn’t explain to myself how they could cause the blackout if it was bcs of the Taser Gun. Regarding the ones that were at the Dining Hall. I thought it had to be either Eva or Mark. At a point in the Class Trial I was scared for Mark. Bcs he was Jett’s roommate. But then I thought it has to be Eva. She had Desmond’s blackmail. There’s just no other way.

The high pitched noise during this shot is the closest thing to hearing her scream. Considering Strand of Agony had the culprit’s scream be audible, it’s likely for the best we don’t hear it here.
This execution felt very different from the ones were used to, most Danganronpa executions are zaney and wacky but this is very dramatic, and i kinda like that

this execution is genuinely one of the best ever made.... gave me chills..... definitely on par with some from v3 and sdra2 but there is one part i still don't understand even after watching it a few times (via watching other people react to this) why use cara? eva has absolutely no connection to cara koskinen... yet a dummy of *her* of all people was used to fool eva into thinking she could live. maybe its gonna be like v3 where a monokub dies every execution, and cara will be incorporated into future executions as well? if that's the case then im definitely excited to see what they come up with.. but if im wrong about that, then it would've made more sense to use a dummy of, say, wolfgang yknow? eva's victim being used against her in her final moments of life would've been so cool to see from a symbolism standpoint. or maybe even a damon or diana dummy? the only two people of the group who trusted her and felt the way everyone mistreated her was cruel and unfair. it even gives the extra added symbolism of damon/diana extending a hand, only for eva to get fooled, accept help, and still plummeting to her death. all because she rejected genuine connections and only accepted help when the damage was already done and it was too late, considering she tries to frame diana and later throws damon under the bus during the trial. damn this fangame good asf. such insane high quality. crazy to think this is being distrubuted completely for free.

Hmmm as someone else said, Eva’s execution is almost similar to that of Chiaki’s from Danganronpa 2 and Kirumi’s from Danganronpa V3 as they tried to escape their executions
Nah this to brutal to watch so far that I watch it in the morning. That aside the execution was close to Kaede and Tojo Kirumi's ending or perhaps Nagito and Chiaki's chapter. Exhibit A: 1.Kaede was quite a side character for the protagonist that became the first blackened of the execution part. 2. Kirumi's part of the execution was the first thing that came to my mind due to the impalement part after she tripped down at her stomach apart from Kirumi grabbing the thorny vines for her escape. The reason why Eva and Kirumi's execution are more similarly recognized was the way they tried to escape while surpassing sharp and impaling objects but in the end they died brutally Exhibit B Since it was revealed that Wolfgang died first it would make common sense in my opinion how he was part of the trio or the protagonist's side but the only difference is that Wolfgang died in the beginning of the first chapter while Nagito then died in the fifth chapter of Goodbye despair. Meanwhile for Eva who turned out to be executed like Chiaki I think is safe to say Damon lost his members from his own trio just like how Hajime lost Nagito and Chiaki in his own trio Sorry if my writing was a bit sloppy I swear I'm doing my best to write what's best after watching it while having a sudden heart attack from Eva getting impaled. Let me remind you I'm still a beginner in the Danganronpa fandom but that was just my own opinion so you can correct me if I'm wrong or anything
Mam i was so EXCITED when i saw announcment of the game because i love danganronpa and i couldnt wait for the game, yesterday in pure happiness when i saw info that the game came out i decided to give it a try and well now i would prefer that the game would never come out considering the fact that now i will have to see my fav characters die. The rhythm is there but the instruments used are different and the voice of "babababa oh" is removed.

ok so there this fanganronpa called “Super Danganronpa Another 2” and in chapter three instead of there being two victims it two culprits and one of them was manipulated into doing the killing and in the execution there a key that says it will let them free but only one of them can leave so the person that was manipulated got the and unlock it but instead it cause there head to pop of that the other person Wes crazy and as they died they laugh until there last breather
Honestly, the designer of this execution has done an absolutely amazing job on this. It really does shows a lot of Eva's personality.
I saw a comment that actually analyze this very nicely. The title of her Ultimate is cross out on the "liar" and wrote it down as Mathele, it's like they were mocking her and poking fun at her for lying.
For the fire pit, there's a saying "liar, liar, pants on fire", this really relates of how she basically lies and still continues to lie in the trial.
The math equipments that is thrown at her represents that no matter what, she'll always use math to try and escape as her advantage even if she doesn't like it. This also could be representing her bullies of her own talent is literally hurting her due to jealousy and hatred around her bullies.
The last part with the doll is seriously fuck up. This doll could represent a friend who understands her but in the end, no one is her friend. She dies alone.
Another thing I think is noteworthy is the name of the execution is a reference to a Bible passage, specifically Isaiah 48:10:
“See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.”
The passage itself refers to how God uses severe physical and mental “afflictions” to test and improve his followers, likening it how metalworkers would use furnaces to purify silver and gold to remove all of the impurities/dross.
Similarly, Eva’s execution involves her having to crawl through sharp objects to avoid being burned to death, as well as her post-trial dialogue about how her talent and behaviour had ostracized her from the people around her, symbolizing the “affliction” referenced in the passage.
The purification could refer to, much like how the impurities in silver are removed through intense heat, Eva showed her true feelings toward the end of her trial as a (debatably) pathetic person who blamed other people for her lack of connections, and her crying as she has to crawl through sharp nails and protractors to survive her execution.

Also another accurate Bible about this is that since Eva's name sounds like Eve, Eva had gave into the temptation to take Tozu offer like the forbidden fruit that Eve in the Bible shouldn't have eaten in the first place.

I think Cara’s dummy appearing in Eva’s execution could be foreshadowing that Cara too was a traitor on her own killing game, and her reaching out to eve would be representation that no matter how much they hoped to survive, or for someone to help them, the moment they took their decision they were destined to suffer

But imo I think it wasn’t about Cara, but what she represented to eva : chapter 0. The time where eva was this mysterious "strong" confident and attention catching "Ultimate liar" a persona she could hide her self loathe and also her massive MASSIVE inferiority complex behind one who people respected and feared.

Im still mad how She quite literally pointed out what people were going to do, point her out as a backstabbing snake to feel better about her death, and even tho she told them, they did not care and still Thought about her like that, No one tried to defend her after her death, NO ONE mourned her death, no one tried to be in her shoes, And the only one who kinda did who was diana, Just questioned her way of acting and then completely ignored her death and started talking about wolfgang, until the end when she said it was for the sake of them both, but thats all, Yeah Eva got herself in that situation, But when you think about it, the only two people who trusted her (damon and Diana) at the end did not mourned her death, No one did, Eva died with no one caring about her, and she drive herself to that situation trying to avoid it…just Brilliant, With that said I hope The fanbase acknowledges this and do not treat her like they do with sayaka…

I still feel badly for her. She’s a lying, conniving piece of garbage who killed a (seamingly) good person, but she’s still a person who didn’t deserve to die. I think to some extent, she did care about everyone else.. like Diana and Damon. Also, I think everyone hating on Diana even before she killed someone added to her added to the distrust and not caring about their lives. If everyone was just a little kinder, including WOLFGANG, the LEADER, she may have not even killed him. Kindness is one of the best traits you can show to someone else, it has the power to make people second guess killing someone else which makes it stronger than hatred or something.. and she DESERVED kindness.

Also, does anyone else not find it weird how there are four stairs that surround the fire pit? When Eva is standing in only one of the stairs. Not only that, the other stairs have the math supplies dropped onto them? I might be overthinking but it could mean that Eva doesn't really have a choice. No matter which stairs she was put on, her death is inevitable. Sure, the only she landed on was the closest to the exit door, but in reality, it didn't help her survive at all.

In a way, she’s kind of a reverse Maki. Maki had a dangerous talent (assassin) she covered up with something harmless (babysitter) while Eva had a harmless talent (mathlete) that she covered up with something dangerous (liar)

This execution gave me chicken skin when I first saw it (it doesn’t help that I watched it with my lights off lol) like, at least the oficial games have funky music that kind of help you focus on the absurdity of it and not take it so seriously.
With the orchestal soundtrack here, it actually does feel like watching a teenager fight for their life as they’re tortured to death.

I just realised something: when I was looking at the difference between Eva’s pose when she was dragged away vs when she lost her balance clutching onto the Cara doll, the poses are very similar barring the left hand not holding onto anything in the second pose.

This is just my interpretation, but Eva being put on the conveyor belt pushing her back into the fire might have also alluded to her realizing that her efforts, both to fit in and to survive, were for nothing, as she said after the closing argument.

Understandable, but then I ask you? Was knocking out someone, drugging them, making them attack someone else and then killing them to frame someone else really not worthy of a gruesome death, I understand she has no choice really, Tozu was gonna kill her anyways because of her "Perk" but she went through all of this and still believed not only that no one else but her mattered and that she deserved to live but also threw the only person who had slight trust in her under the bus to try and get away with murder. A gruesome death wasn't deserved, but it was her punishment for committing Gruesome crimes.
although i love this execution it feels like the audio mixing is just a bit off. I feel like it would be more tense if the fire and math tools dropping was clearly heard throughout the entire execution (not to overtake the music of course)? It feels like the fire and tools have no impact because of how little sound they make. Esepcially if its so many dropping and such a big fire. It took me out of the execution when playing through the game myself. But the rest of the execution was pretty much flawless and no one talks about the fact that the execution looks like it was made to be usable even if the cast voted wrong (4 lanes on the track would fit 14 people) and makes the execution that much more believable.

I knew it was going to be someone from the Dining Hall precisely bcs they had the strongest alibi. That’s a twist. I just hoped it wasn’t either Eva or Mark. And if it had to be one of them, I prefer Mark to be safe over Eva.
But, to be more excited I preferred to think it was someone from outside.
My most suspicious people were Diana, Toshiko and Ingrid. I was rooting to think it had to be one of them based on what made sense.
Diana bcs she had no alibi, and her excuses were convenient. Well turns out she had to do but wasn’t the killer.
Ingrid, her headache was too convenient. + she was able to see the party heading down.
Toshiko, bcs she return to the pharmacy. Also the thing about the footsteps and the socks and maybe she was lying about Wolfgang.
But I just couldn’t explain to myself how they could cause the blackout if it was bcs of the Taser Gun.
Regarding the ones that were at the Dining Hall.
I thought it had to be either Eva or Mark.
At a point in the Class Trial I was scared for Mark. Bcs he was Jett’s roommate.
But then I thought it has to be Eva. She had Desmond’s blackmail. There’s just no other way.

This execution felt very different from the ones were used to, most Danganronpa executions are zaney and wacky but this is very dramatic, and i kinda like that

eva has absolutely no connection to cara koskinen... yet a dummy of *her* of all people was used to fool eva into thinking she could live. maybe its gonna be like v3 where a monokub dies every execution, and cara will be incorporated into future executions as well? if that's the case then im definitely excited to see what they come up with..
but if im wrong about that, then it would've made more sense to use a dummy of, say, wolfgang yknow? eva's victim being used against her in her final moments of life would've been so cool to see from a symbolism standpoint.
or maybe even a damon or diana dummy? the only two people of the group who trusted her and felt the way everyone mistreated her was cruel and unfair. it even gives the extra added symbolism of damon/diana extending a hand, only for eva to get fooled, accept help, and still plummeting to her death. all because she rejected genuine connections and only accepted help when the damage was already done and it was too late, considering she tries to frame diana and later throws damon under the bus during the trial.

That aside the execution was close to Kaede and Tojo Kirumi's ending or perhaps Nagito and Chiaki's chapter.
Exhibit A:
1.Kaede was quite a side character for the protagonist that became the first blackened of the execution part.
2. Kirumi's part of the execution was the first thing that came to my mind due to the impalement part after she tripped down at her stomach apart from Kirumi grabbing the thorny vines for her escape. The reason why Eva and Kirumi's execution are more similarly recognized was the way they tried to escape while surpassing sharp and impaling objects but in the end they died brutally

Since it was revealed that Wolfgang died first it would make common sense in my opinion how he was part of the trio or the protagonist's side but the only difference is that Wolfgang died in the beginning of the first chapter while Nagito then died in the fifth chapter of Goodbye despair. Meanwhile for Eva who turned out to be executed like Chiaki I think is safe to say Damon lost his members from his own trio just like how Hajime lost Nagito and Chiaki in his own trio
