Godo might have regrets, but he didnt do too bad. He got to die peacefully in his home at an old age with people who he cares for and care for him. Thats better than 99% of characters in this story. If the worst fate that could befallGuts if he follows in his footsteps is an ending like that, I think Guts would be pretty lucky. RIP Godo and RIP Miura
I see what you mean, but I feel like dying with regret is the worst way to die man. I see godo, a man who pushed people away, kept to himself, and pulled away from the rest of the world, as a man who I could very well end up like. He died comfortably, yet he wasted his life. He didn’t have those experiences, or build those relationships, that every other normal person gets to have. I really wouldn’t want to end up like him, and honestly I feel like dying like that would be worse than some of the gruesome deaths in berserk.
@@lukester102d6 Guess you are still young. Godo has a peaceful life and he become master on what he's doing, a famous blacksmith that make something really impressive, he die at old age at home with people he loves, and he already has the one to pass skill to be next generation, not only that he also has high wisdom and understand life so he gave Guts really good advices. The only Godo's regret was not spend more time to other people, to Erica, to find a wife and build his family, he spend allmost his entire life to follow his career, so he doesn't want Guts be like that, not care for people, care for self, just spend all time to fight, to seek revenge. So, Godo's life is acctually wholesome and deserve respect, it definitely not a waste by any means although it not perfect and maybe a bit lonely life, ofcourse it's not epic and flash like a hero's life but it's good life. Miura did fair to Godo and i love that, RIP.
What I love about Guts is that when he makes mistakes, he thinks and evaluates what he has done, admits it, apologizes for it, and make up for it. He also makes the same mistake again like a human would do.
This is one the best works of fantasy/horror/war I have ever read. If this was in book format I would still read the crap out of it. Is a shame only a small percentage of the population reads manga, because, in my opinion, this story is on par with works such as The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones. And the drawings from Kentaro Miura are astonishing, which helps elevate the awesomeness of this story
Man, do not mix chocolate with mud. Berserk Is waaaay Better than Game of Thrones. When Ned died I was Like: "oh shit, he died". When the band was destroyed, I had Nightmares at night.
Berserk is in a league of it's own, man. It being too intense for general audiences just allows it to do it's own thing, and do it better than anyone else does. The Conviction arc here is my favorite arc in the entire series (including Lost Children), and I always find myself coming back to it and rereading it and rewatching videos on it. It's just beautiful storytelling with outstanding visuals to match.
Japanese swords (katana) were considered to harbor the soul of the wielder, so this pairing of reforging a blade AND the swordsman's soul at the same time has some precedent in Miura's culture.
Godot was an amazing character. One of the few characters who died without the stench of demons or some evil calamity befalling him *SPOILERS* I wonder if that dwarf guy is gonna be something similar?
the love that i will always feel for Kentaro Miura's BERSERK and for Guts, The Skull Knight .. Judeau, Ricket, Casca etc etc will always go beyond Fiction and our Reality may your Soul stay always blessed Sir Kentaro
Godo is such great character in berserk, lots of people don't know about him, but to me, he help guts on his vic about dangerous battles between monster or knights, godo help guts to keep living for his beloved as to save casca as well
i like the part you talk about rickert in this vid especially how he is stronger than Guts and Griff. you should analyze him in the bridge of parting.. where he is at his best
the manga makes it clear later. the hawks won't live trough Guts, or Casca or Griffith , wich by this point Guts and casca left the hawks behind to focus on a new future, or Griffith, living a lie. But trought Rickert. who made a sword for every fallen member. Who still has the band insignia with him. Who slapped Griffith for daring to call his demon army "band of the hawk" Rickert is the last true Hawk of the band and he's willing to put his neck on the line to keep it that way.
That was beautiful thank you. No matter how many analysis videos i watch of berserk, they all provide deeper meaning to the story i love, enjoy and learn from.
Guts: Rickert, now that Godo is gone, i need you to make a 12 foot long sword that weighs 800lbs.
Rickert: "I'll call it Godsmite."
Guts: "YES!"

@TakaMelodia I agree with you. I guess I was thinking differently last year. Godo had a good life. I think he understood that.
You could say that Rickert had no other choice other than to accept it but it was strong of him

I don't think enough people realize that guts is literally battling with mania on a daily basis...
beautiful analysis, Keep on keeping on mate.

Spirit of Goat videos back at it again.

The deepness of Berserk never ceases to amaze me. Miura never made a mistake whenever he made a character a particular way.
Nothing quite like someone pulling unseen poetry out of something you love. Thanks for giving us that.
Does anyone else find it amazing that guts still has trust in his heart despite all he's been thru
i like the part you talk about rickert in this vid especially how he is stronger than Guts and Griff. you should analyze him in the bridge of parting.. where he is at his best
loving these new insights into berserk -- so many ways to interpret messages in just one story
great video once again :)
the manga makes it clear later.

Rickert is the last true Hawk of the band and he's willing to put his neck on the line to keep it that way.
This made realize things I didn’t see before, imma subscribe
When you think about it, Rickert has seen the demo version of the Eclipse.
_"If you return it to the fire, it's sure to be reborn?"_
So for Guts, is that fire he returns to then Casca? That feeble flame?
Yes, however feeble the flame is, it stills shines the darkness away.
That was beautiful thank you. No matter how many analysis videos i watch of berserk, they all provide deeper meaning to the story i love, enjoy and learn from.
A BLACK-Smith that forged and sharpened the BLACK-Swordsman.
Wow, you sure breathed fresh life into the character of Godo! Good job.
Thanks for sharing this. For some reason I feel like listening to Godo's speech in Cracks in the Blade.
Bro, your analysis is fire! Keep up the consistent work, and you will be big in no time! Got a new sub 👍
Prithee, be careful. I don’t want to see my work squandered
Neither of us wants to see you go hollow.
I love your analysis of rickert
Godo the mediator of Guts soul.
Puck's censored had me laughing.
Great stuff once again👍
This is my favourite chapter!
Change da world, my final message. Goodbye
