The glasses can catch and retrieve information "on the go" without any extra effort on the user's end. Photographing a person with a camera, typing, image searching all of this is extra effort. Just wearing the glasses and looking at them and then information just flows. Knowing someone's name who you meet for the very first time isn't something people can do normally. But with these glasses this is just what happens. This can be misused. Most people may be friendly and not misuse it. But stalkers or just someone who wants to do harm can abuse this technology. That's why privacy is important. And these gadgets only erode it.
@@kameliastoyanova7198 This will definitely be misused. In my Nordic country, we are seeing a massive increase in scams. I believe one reason is that we have traditionally been a trusting and transparent society. Not long ago, everyone’s income and taxes were published in online newspapers for all residents to see. Although we no longer do this for everyone, information about the top earners-including their income, taxes, and assets-is still available for around 5% of the population. The fraudsters seems to go after older people. They often trust FB and other SM to much. I tell my old relatives to allways assume the possiblity of scam. It is a bit hard since this is not something we have been used to and it seems that is so little we can do.
Both are the issue. The glasses would be a nightmare even without the publicly available information because Meta is using the video to train its AI and you acn expect them to also use it to just gather personal info anyways.

Social perception matters a lot , as someone who likes psychology , you can manipulate people if you understand more about them in how they percieve and all .While a grey topic , with the help of psychology , you can sometimes play top mind games with people. It doesn't effect everyone in same way but it's possible for a person to hide their intentions and completely change their persona , not just randomly but with proper planning. Just like how my comment says I'm a overthinker and maybe just a silly person . Don't confuse BJJ with MMA. He's practicing BJJ not MMA
Sure, but isn't BJJ pretty much the most dominant in MMA for the last couple decades. Seems a bit like splitting hairs under that lens.
@timseguine2 No. BJJ was only dominant when nobody knew about it back then at UFC 1, and it is what started the MMA sport. Nowadays, MMA consists of a variety of fighting styles. A BJJ master with no wrestling or striking skills will be destroyed in a MMA match.

This "rebrand" feels as genuine as when parents start using teenage lingo.
😂😂😂 good one
Re...brand? He rebranded himself from a crazy billionaire to a crazy billionaire?
I think he got tired of being called a lizard man in disguise
I feel like every time i turn around Im hearing about some Zuckerturd rebrand that Im supposed to care about.
*from a creepy billionaire to a crazy billionaire. Still an upgrade
Wolf in sheep's clothing, people need to learn what actions he took, and judge based on his actions, not his appearance.

So if Ted Bundy started grappling and wearing a chain it would have made him a better person?
Ted bundy came across as charming and trustworthy, he famously drove a VW beetle to help with his harmless persona. That sort of emphasizes the point that looks can often deceive
Yes
He had tons of female fans. It would have got him more girls.
POINT!!!
If he gave billions to the media and politicians, he could have continued to do his thing in peace, and even got praised for it.
The man should be in prison for the things that he has done to our society through his reckless and dangerous actions or non actions. But because he’s an elite powerful person he’s crimes go unpunished. We get a re-brand and ah it’s so cute and clever this that and everybody forgets. It’s really a shame that this is the kind of world we’re living in

The data obtained through those glasses is crazy
I thought the same thing. In a few years, it’ll probably feel like we’re all living in a small town where everyone knows each other.
Those glasses should be illegal.
The data is already on the Internet, the glasses just make it easier to take the picture without being noticed, but you could easily do the same with your phone.
@luipaardprint that is essentially my scope
The fact that he claimed to be "into" jiujitsu & immediately broke his leg 😂
I still dont use facebook but honestly good on him for changing up his style. He looks happier
14:00 you can literally do this with any phone. It’s just using a picture you take of the person, glasses aren’t the privacy issue is, it’s the internet with reverse image search
Yet they took away the phone number search, in Facebook. That was handy to use for unknown numbers

0:17 rebranding like Bezos
Once a dweeb, always a dweeb.
He feels more human now, after watching him talk to cleo i actually got really excited for their AR glasses. Ive never been excited for anything from meta before
It’s becoming a trend for CEOs of many companies to adopt a hip image that aligns with the majority's sentiments.
Almost forgot Zucker existed...
I think this dude was a nerd, then his life changed like crazy super early, and he never really had the whole 'finding yourself' phase we all have at some point because it was straight up just money meetings without a chance for him to catch a breath.
And then more recently someone in his team was like 'we need to change your image, let's go shopping, you might actually like it' - and hey presto, 10 years later than most people he took a minute to actually just do the stuff most of us did when we weren't thrust into the position of CEO of billion $ companies at 21 out of need because their public image needed that to distract everyone like the video said.
But low key it was like someone giving him the push to do something everyone has already been through as Meta needed it so as to move the media eye of sauron from them saying "they own all your photos and can use them to train their AI models ktnxbye".
Somewhere in the middle is probably roughly the truth-ish. He's def still out for our data so stay alert
It's not just a quick decision. He's the queen ant from an ant colony. An entire population is supporting him do that kind of stuff: psychologists, life coaches, fashion stylists.
Break Meta, Google, Apple & Microsoft.
Amazon?
I would add Elon Musk's empire to that but that will hopefully just break itself when everyone realises Tesla stock is just a big Ponzi scheme.
X of all companies needs to be regulated

What rebrand? I'm really glad to have missed this as it happened. Cheers for the summary Dagogo, greetings from Melbourne.

Honestly, I'll give him one bit of kudos for having Facebook/Meta champion open source. Things like Pytorch and React were done years ago, but especially open source (or at least open weight) AI releases like Llama.
Yeah no. Pytorch is nice, React too I guess. But "open weights" is not even close to "open source", not to speak of FOSS.
Just beacause we can run the AI locally doesn't actually make it free as in freedom. No credit due, it's just to get free labor from the community.

Why do billionaires always think they can fool the public with stunts like these?
Because it works
This is the only way to win in capitalism
Because many people are stupid enough to fall for it.
Just look at Elon Musk.
Because they can. For example, no matter how bad things are, north americans vote every 4 years thinking their votes change a nything

Rebranding from Lizard Person to Andy Dick.
the more llamah ai improves, the more human he looks 💀🙏
All data collected for this
14:35 The issue here aren't the glasses but the fact these people keep that much information about themselves publicly available.
@@kameliastoyanova7198 It could literally just be an app on a smartphone.
Both are the issue. The glasses would be a nightmare even without the publicly available information because Meta is using the video to train its AI and you acn expect them to also use it to just gather personal info anyways.
@@kameliastoyanova7198 The software that does it has nothing to do with Meta. You can do the same thing with any phone

People bashing him made me like him
On cleo abrams channel where she interviewed him, every other comment was simping for him - it gave me the creeps - it was as if his change in looks were changing people’s perspective of him….going by the comments. Was completely mind blowing for me, I thought “people forgot he is MZ just cos of his PR change in looks?!”
exactly lol, i just gave up on humanity, a species who analyses on perception than actions, especially on things and people like this that are not too important for daily life but still news worth, people like this just have to look the part to TRUSTED by the public
We can judge things but it all depends. take my comment with grain of salt tho since it's my personal views and no source , just some knowledge , this is important because you shoudn't always trust or think everything you read online is true. :))
You should see the simping for Musk
