Cooking with Kat 2015: Humor derives from the fact that Kat unexpectedly has the wrong supplies Cooking with Kat 2016: Humor derives from the fact that Kat has way better supplies than expected
Cooking With Kat is my favourite thing! Like honestly my fav part of the day is when you post these! It's great to know I'm not the only one without a clue how to do a lot of things. I wing it for a lot of things (that I probably shouldn't wing XD) & when I watch these I know I'm not alone in doing so. ITS GREAT AND WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS MAKES ME HAPPY YAYAYAY!!
Also, EVERYTHING IS NOT FINE could be my life motto XD at least I can watch it burn.... I AM WATCHING IT BURN, THE WORLD HAS NO RIGH- ok I gotta stop.... BUT I DONT WANNA I LIKE MY NON-STOP REFERENCES XDXD
Cooking with Kat has become the best part of my day! You should do a special episode and try to make a vegan pizza from scratch. Because there is absolutely no way that could ever go wrong...mwahaha
There was a moment, when you just stand there and stare at the cooking pancakes with a look of utter dejection... omg. I laughed SO FUCKING HARD! I've never seen someone look so miserable making pancakes! lol damn funny.
Fun fact: Vanilla actually helps to prevent curdling in milks which is why a lot of recipes use it and also why it's added to a lot of steamed milk drinks
Quick baking/cooking tid bit: wheat flower is thicker causing for the food to be more dense, so if you want a normal density you have to use a smaller proportion
I had to pause at the Barbossa moment because I couldn't stop laughing lol I don't know why but that really got me. Plus no one ever knows that guideline reference when I use it! so nice to know I'm not the only one who remembers
And perhaps the magic griddle just appeared in your cabinet because it knew you needed it...like the storybook on Once Upon a Time in Mary Margaret's closet!
I came here because of a magazine I was reading, and it mentioned UA-cam cooking show called Cooking with Kat, but I'm not sure if this is the same one
When you took out the griddle, I seriously laughed so hard. It's like, one time you don't have what you really need (like the cutting board), and the next you have EXACTLY what you need, lol.
I tend to avoid wheat flour because it's very dense. If you're interested in making Johnny cakes, which are like pancakes but with cornmeal, then I recommend buying the vegetarian jiffy mix and using applesauce to replace eggs. Delicious.
This series is...please keep making more of these. I haven't laughed so hard at a "plot twist" in forevs. Ooh, also, what about an episode where you make strawberry freezer jam or something? I've been wanting to attempt it but am too scared of the chaos that could ensue lol.
These cooking vlogs have gotten me to start cooking again because - I am not the only one bad at cooking (I like how all the comments are also like: I feel better I'm not the only one). Same, everyone, same.
"It could've been a pancake" why do I feel like this is how I will be when I'm an adult. Like I see my future in you, kat, and I ain't mad. Love these videos and you.
I absolutely love your videos. Cause all the other vegan you tubers I watch are expectations....but your videos are reality lol what it really looks like
Yeah, from personal experience cocoa nibs are better in colder or raw food as opposed to baking. Although if you add it on top of your finished oatmeal it adds a nice chocolatey flavor and crunch. I'm still looking for good recipes to add them to. :)
First off we use vanilla almond milk as well give the pancakes amazing flavor! Second you used a dry measuring cup when measuring the milk that is why you did not get enough milk and it made the pancakes so thick. There are liquid measuring cups that have a very different look and measurement for liquid ingredients. I love your show and I look forward to more vids to this series!
just for future reference a dry cup and a wet cup are two separate measurements. which is why your pancakes were super thick. you might want to invest in a liquid measuring cup if you want to bake things.
Some helpful tips for the future * you used the wrong measuring cup for the liquids. That kind of cup is used only for solids. The cup you want kind of looks like a clear mug/beaker with lines on it. ( best way I could describe it). That's why your pancakes were thicker. * when mixing the dry and liquids you want to use a whisk ( or fork if you don't have a whisk) and mix fast until the flour ( or weird looking chunks ) are gone. *If you feel like the mixture is to thick/thin you could alway add more flour or soy milk (which you had the right idea). Sorry if this sounds critical or nitpicking, Just trying to help out.
Oh my god! I was watching this with my 7 year old brother and at some part of the video he just says: "She's really pretty. I wish you were as pretty as her." Then I was like "Wait what?" And he just goes: I don't want to offed you. It's just that you're a 100 but she's a 103 if you know what I mean." I'm dying on the floor laughing!
Kat, you totally did everything right! Mixing vinegar with milk to make buttermilk is very common with pancakes, and makes them even better (in my opinion). Also, the reason they were denser is probably because you didn't add any eggs, but you can't do that because you're vegan. So next time I'd suggest looking up some kind of egg substitute because the eggs really make the pancakes light and fluffy. Anyway, love your videos and can't wait for the next episode:D
I'm glad these were tasty! I have an AMAZING recipe for vegan pancakes which is basically what you did + vanilla extract + 1 tbs sugar + another spoon of oil and without the apple cider vinegar. I highly recommend you to try it next time!
1and half cups flour 3 and half teaspoon backing powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon sugar 1 and 1/4 cup milk 1 egg 3 tablespoon melted butter 1 teaspoon vanilla and a dash or 2 of cinnamon the This will make about 12 pancakes. Also go get a set of measuring spoons and a glass (wet ingredients) measuring cup. I'd you can't eat eggs or butter just use oil in place if the butter and and eggs supplement or bananas. How this helps :)
I am so shocked that it all worked out! I was suspicious of the batter initially. I definitely shouldn't have doubted you or your magic griddle though 👏🏼
once when i was trying to mix dry ingredients for a cake, i got the two buttons on the mixmaster confused and i flicked the level to five without the lock on and it resulted in a forty five minute break of me sweeping endless sugar off of my floor.
I cant combine recipes because i even forget to add stuff a lot. Haha. I made your tacos today and i loved them!!! What about like hand/home making the patties for veggie burgers?

Favorite cooking show ever tbh
"I'm still going to proceed as though everything is fine even though everything is not fine." Literally my life motto. 😂
I love recipe testing, so fun. I can watch this all day long.

I really enjoy watching these vlogs / cooking episodes.
These vids make me so hungry and I'm poor af so I can only afford instant noodles but I still watch coz Kat is an angel.
Definitely my favourite ep so far
these episodes are all I look forward too now.
I find it funny that when I'm watching Cooking with Kat there are recommendations of real and professional-ass cooking videos.
hey these are professional-ass videos what are you saying XD
Oops, sorry about that. 😂
I love them with or without the professional overhead shots.
I just always use flour, rice milk and flax eggs (blended flaxseeds (1tbsp) with water (2.5 tbsp). They always turn out alright :).
I absolutely love your videos. Cause all the other vegan you tubers I watch are expectations....but your videos are reality lol what it really looks like
This was the most plot twist ever
This was fabulous! I'm always doubled-over with laughter by the end of these videos :)
When using wheat flour you have to add more liquid because it soaks more up. I only learned this after multiple baking disasters lol
Cooking with kat is the best show on youtube tbh
Yayay! Looking forward to this all day. I love these they're so funny and also helpful. 😄
I've never seen anyone so mad to see something work.
the excitement about the griddle... and the fact that the pancakes were good =D

Yay! Kat has been giving me life this whole week with all of the videos! Hmmm, still waiting for her to get her own cooking network though...

These videos have become my life every night😂 you better keep doing them! You should try making some kind of a dessert! Maybe a cobbler??😋

If you stir your ingredients together and it's really thick you can always add some water to thin it out

"Cooking is like magic." - Kat O'Keeffe (2016)
It's really telling what kind of cooking show this is when Kat's big surprised declaration is "!!!!! It's GOOD!!!!!!!!!!" XD
I'm glad these were tasty! I have an AMAZING recipe for vegan pancakes which is basically what you did + vanilla extract + 1 tbs sugar + another spoon of oil and without the apple cider vinegar. I highly recommend you to try it next time!

This will make about 12 pancakes. Also go get a set of measuring spoons and a glass (wet ingredients) measuring cup. I'd you can't eat eggs or butter just use oil in place if the butter and and eggs supplement or bananas. How this helps :)
Using the Very Vanilla soy milk was perfect, because vanilla always make pancakes extra yummy. :)
this was an emotional roller coaster
for real tho
I am so shocked that it all worked out! I was suspicious of the batter initially. I definitely shouldn't have doubted you or your magic griddle though 👏🏼
the griddle has never let me down. i mean i've only used it the once, but statistically it's perfect.
Honestly this is so great I love these
Cooking Kat is my favorite Kat
you have to double the liquid to flour ratio for pancakes
I laughed so hard which is a great recipe in itself! Thanks Kat!
Official best episode eva!!!!!
ah, the magic griddle. 🔮
once when i was trying to mix dry ingredients for a cake, i got the two buttons on the mixmaster confused and i flicked the level to five without the lock on and it resulted in a forty five minute break of me sweeping endless sugar off of my floor.
my stomach hurts from laughing , thanks kat 😂😂😂😂
Your kitchen trips me out because it looks almost identical to the kitchen in the house I rented during college.
This was great! And the new recipes are always the most fun! Maybe you could do some fancy ass vegan omelettes? Like with the egg substitute?
I cant combine recipes because i even forget to add stuff a lot. Haha. I made your tacos today and i loved them!!! What about like hand/home making the patties for veggie burgers?
Kat your hair grows so fast! So pretty!! ^_^
somehow watching those videos is the motivation for the rest of my day. XD
