ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Margot and I am a professional artist and graphic designer. My parents like to joke that I was born with a paintbrush in hand. I started my career after graduating from the renown Parsons School of Design in New York City and spent over 15 years creating and designing for many of the world's top Fortune 500 brands and companies. My painting journey started as a side project and a creative outlet for me to step away from the computer, go back to my "roots" in fine art and to hone my skills as an illustrator and painter. I started posting some of my work on instagram and the rest is history. My work is inspired by all the things that I am passionate about. Ballet, travel, graphic design, color and finding a world of beauty in all facets of everyday life. I hope you'll join me in this UA-cam journey as I take you through all the tips, tricks and trade secrets I've gathered throughout the years. I hope I can teach you some of what I know, help you discover your creative voice and I hope you enjoy this Channel!

Yes please! Let’s have a never ending series of ballerina positions 🥰
I can't tell you how many ballerinas I've drawn and colored using your tutorial! Some good and some not so good haha! Painting along with you is like an escape into wonderland and your delivery is a thick frothy latte on a chilly morning. I second the person that says to please do more ballerina poses!!
Yes, more please. I could only like this once....I would have hit the like button for many more!! ❤❤
I adore your ballerina paintings
My youngest daughter was a ballerina. I MUST try this!!
Love the elongated style of her shape.
Thank you! 🦒
Your paintings are so beautiful and have helped me so much going through a very difficult time in my life. I can't thank you enough.
Ohhh, your explanations have turned on a million lightbulbs!!!! Thank you SO much for sharing your process and the reasoning behind each step. I can apply these wonderful tips in every painting I attempt, no matter what the subject. But I will definitely be attempting one of your lovely ballerinas.😊💕
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment! xo!
Yes, please. All the ballerinas!
I just adore you stylized ballerinas 😍😍and I love how you paint the costumes
Thank you so much! I hope it inspired you to try something similar 💕
Always elegant in technique.
Hi yes please please do teach more ballerinas I loved doing this painting project. I am a totally new at drawing and painting and the way that you taught it I was able to do it and follow. I do not have access to any type of teachers that teach art.
She is beautiful. More please
Just found your fantastic channel. Made me feel quite nostalgic. It's been years since I thought of my dance days. So yes more ballerina positions and costumes. Now where did I put my shoes...
You enjoy Borat humor?! He drives me insane! 🤣 I love the wide open arms in the ballerina’s pose. Beautiful!
I wouldn’t go as far as to say that… lol but I do think that there’s something to the “wawaweewa” that can’t be said in other words 😂
And ps. Thank you! 💕
@@Pointebrush you’re welcome! ❤️
She’s beautiful.
Thank you!!
Patty-I thought the green tutu was gorgeous. I'm learning a lot about the human form. Thank you for sharing.
I liked that you used the green in the shadows and in the hair to unify the while painting. Using left over paint on your palette was also a nice idea, although I will confess that I am adverse to that. One of the best ways for me to ruin a painting is to start with leftover paint on my palette.
Thank you! With leftover paint, if it makes you nervous, I would recommend keeping a scrap piece of paper close by and every time you have the urge to try it, try it on the scrap first. And always go lighter in value than your instinct. That way it’s easier to lift if it goes wrong (and it’s always easier to add more than to remove)
@@Pointebrush Thanks!
The video I’ve been waiting for!! Yahoo! 🥰🩰🥳
So glad you like it! I was worried this was going to be way too niche! 😝
@@Pointebrush never!
❤ just discovered your channel. Definitely more ballet poses please. Beautiful!
👍👍❤️
Margot I binge watched at least half of your videos yesterday. I want to say thank you for the joy, the inspiration and the invaluable knowledge you share. Today in Australia, Christmas eve I painted my first real picture. Not just circles or mark making but a ballerina. To say I was petrified when I first picked up the pencil is not an understatement. With your help I ploughed through and found myself really enjoying myself. I followed your color mixing and shading etc. But used blue. My ballerina is my first it looks like a ballerina and I had fun. A special gift for a special person no matter how perfect it is. 10 mins to Christmas here, merry Christmas to you. Thank you.
Really loved this! Please do make more ballerina videos! ❤
I love it! I'm just starting watercolors, although I have done quite a bit of acrylics. Big learning curve. Your ballerina is beautiful....hopefully some day! I love your channel and your process.
More please!!!!
My daughter began ballet classes at 2 .5 until she was 17 she taught ballet and modern for a while I wanted her to open her own ballet school but she didn’t have the confidence but hey Ho! She still loves dance we went to see Shen yun and it was fabulous and so colourful we both enjoyed it ! I ‘M looking forward to to her getting married and having a little girl and we can go through it all ain together 🥰🥰🥰
The Ballerina is amazing! It's something I would have never thought of! I really want to do this! Also looking for the palace you painted 🎨 👀
Absolutely magical!
Thank you so much!
Stunningly gorgeous piece!! Yes more ballerinas please!! Can you do a pink/salmon/coral one? LUV your whole channel!! ❤
How could anything be complete without a pink ballerina?? Yes, will definitely do!
Lovely! Thank you for sharing your skills and talents.
It’s my pleasure 💕
Thank you very much for your tutorials…they are the best!
Glad you like them!
So glad I found this video and I can't wait to watch them all... especially the ballerinas and flowers. I would love to see your approach on a Marie Antoinette - in one of those amazing dresses she wore. This was a great video with detailed instructions. Thank you for sharing!
Oh that's a fabulous idea!! A Marie Antoinette with a wedding cake dress 😝 Love it!!
@@Pointebrush Please! A series! And don't forget her sometimes outrageous hairdos and hats.....
Ooo historical dancing could be a fun theme!
I love ballet! This was so interesting. I would absolutely enjoy seeing more form and movement. I have a difficult time achieving the proper form. I have to do so much erasing. I'm not at 100% as of yet, and maybe I will never arrive.
Some of these positions are really hard to figure out.
I love your work and your detailed instructions. This was very helpful.
I need more of this. Thank you so much for sharing your artistic talent.💕🩰
I’m glad it’s helpful and clear. It’s a pet peeve of mine when people show without telling or vice versa 😝 And don’t worry, ballet dancers and movement are hard, much harder than still figures, so it’s not just you. It IS difficult! But keep at it! With practice it gets better 👍
Try her triangle and shapes thing. Watch her video on drawing figures. You’ll be better at it than you think. Her method really works!
Bonjour Margot. J’admire votre travail depuis un an.
Wow, I just found your channel. This is so pretty and very elegant ❤
Terrific painting with lots of great tips as usual!!! I love the way you draw a base figure and just turn it into the final sketch, it's something I have to work on.... I usually use a croquis for my fashion art but I love to draw freehand and this will give me a good base! Thanks for the reminder and sharing your talent and creativity!
I’m glad it’s helpful and I hope it leads to some great figure drawings! 🙏💝
Lovely!
Thank you! 💃💕
Can’t wait to try this.
Wowaweewa 👍👍
😂😂😂
Heavenly!
Beautiful thank you 👍🏻👍🏻
Gorgeous. I'm going to do one today! ❤ x Nell.
Let me know how it goes!!
I Love your ballerinas Margot and would absolutely love to see more tutorials of ballerinas in different poses and many different tutus and the long er ballerina dresses I'm not too sure what you call the longer calf length version of these gorgeous dresses could you please tell us if they have a special name too please. I love all your rose ballerinas they are so gorgeous. So yes, no complaints on this side. I'd love to see more ballerinas. I'm in love with these ballerinas. Thank you for this one. Lots of love azccc always Susan xxxx🙏🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🤗🤗🎨👍😄🌟🌟🌟🌸❤❤❤❤
Hi Susan! Thank you so much and I definitely will share more! Oh and those longer skirts are known as romantic tutus. The short dish shaped ones are “classical tutus” but the longer ones made of tulle that come to the ankle or knee are “romantic style tutus” 😘
@@Pointebrush Hi Margot thank you so much for replying to my comment and also thank you very much for the information on the names of the longer skirts used in ballet. The romantic tutus and the classical tutus. I knew there had to be a special name for them. Thank you so much. Margot could you please help me with something else regarding ballet if you can. Are there books that have mainly photos or pictures in them rather than writing. Because I'd love to have a few to draw from them like that onf you did with the green tutu on your phone. I would not mind some writing but I need one with mostly photos of ballet dancers in different positions and difficult costume of course. I'd be so grateful if you could help me here if you can. Thank you for everything you do. I love your ballerinas and I would love to see more. I love that one you did for Easter too. It's very tastefully done. Absolutely lovely. Thank you. My internet was giving up all Easter weekend that was why I was delayed in answering this but I hope you had a great Easter with your family. God bless you always Susan xxx🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🕊🕊🕊🐣🐰🐰🐰🐇🎨🐣
Thank You💖💞💝🩰
You are so welcome
Nicely done
Thank you!!
😍🙌🏻
How do you paint the underneath ruffles of a tutu? I keep trying to paint just the underneath showing and it just isn' happening.
Aaaaaaand first! 😂
Bam!! Just like that 😂
