I so appreciate the way you embrace the potential of your designs to be reinvented through different fiber use and optional modifications. That kind of knowledge sharing and encouragement strikes a perfect balance between professionalism and community. I’m gobsmacked by how much you accomplish while also having a full time job. Inspirational!

Love that you used a contiguous shoulder design for a colour work garment! That is my favourite shoulder design. So wonderful to have a colour work sweater with his shoulder!! Thank you. Can’t wait for your Lauder cardigan btw. Really appreciate you putting so many options into each design, and including the options in the cost of the pattern. Thank you!!!

Another fab podcast thank you - I still can't believe that with all the patterns available in the world you still manage to create new and really different styles and designs. They're beautiful ❤ So excited to hear you're planning a trip to Oz and NZ! I hope you have time to really explore our beautiful Aotearoa, so much to see and do. A few sheep here and there 😉 (i think we still have the highest number of sheep per person in the world) and some pretty amazing yarn dyers. I love Australia too, lots of variety there and it's HUGE. Happy planning!!

Hi Rebecca, a rule if thumb as far as what you suit best is to look at your veins on your wrist in daylight. If you can find any daylight, that is😂. If they are blue, you suit cooler colours, if they lean to green, then you have warmer undertones. Much love and thanks for an excellent podcast. I never miss them ❤❤❤

Vanissia & Aude definitely influed me to get the Rhue pattern. Besides it being a beautiful pattern, the shoulder construction looks so interesting. Always good to learn something new with each project. I really don't knit alot of repeats of patterns and need something different each time I start a project.

This Lauder Cardigan is EXACTLY what I've been looking for! My mother has this really lightweight, thin wool cable cardigan that she's had forever that she has been MACHINE WASHING (my heart hurts), so it started getting holes and is no longer useable. I found some yarn that is very similar in color and have been looking for the perfect pattern - so I can't wait for this to come out!! Thank you!

I will be buying your lovely new Rhue sweater this weekend. I bought some yarn in Austria in December but did not have a pattern for it. Then you go and show your Rhue and it is PERFECT. I have the Alder pattern and think I want to try the Rhue for the construction. Your patterns are very thoughtful.

The rust one is mine ☺️ - it's a 50/50 llama wool blend from Camarose! It's a bit heavier than recommended but it's a rustic single ply so made a good dense weatherproof fabric. I knit it in yellow and brown but overdyed it with red.

I bought some verrrry expensive possum/wool sock yarn at Ashford (famous for spinning wheels) near Ashburton on the North Island and knitted socks whilst touring in our camper. They were gorgeous and squishy at first but the possum eventually worked its way out into big brown pills and had to be picked off. It has a very short staple. Think twice about purchasing.

Hiya! Not sure if you’ll ever see this comment since this episode is older. However, wanted to tell you I’m taking a Craftsy class on combination knitting and there is instruction for ribbing in the round to avoid twisted rib. You have to make sure your purl stitches are still going into the back of the stitch which, with combo purling, means from behind the posterior leg. I left a comment earlier and then deleted it because I hadn’t finished the class, but I finished it today 😄

Unfortunately for most of the podcast, you spoke pretty fast and some of your words ran together. I just feel anxious when I’m trying to follow someone who’s talking so quickly. Something to just be mindful of, especially in the future if you plan to teach at fiber, festivals or events. It is really important to speak slowly and clearly so that everyone can stay on track.

That is so funny. At around 36 min. you explain that you don't follow the pattern for the hat because you are so lazy........ With your (self imposed) schedule you can call yourself all sorts of things. Lazy is NOT one of them. :)

Rebecca, I love your designs and the variety of your patterns. But, please, please, please, can you talk more slowly! I miss so much of what you are saying, and it is very frustrating.

I don’t know if this might help, but you can watch the video and slow down the speed…I have done this watching how to do certain knit tutorials and it was a game changer. I just tried to see if it worked well on this video and I think it does at .75 speed (which is 3/4 of the normal speed I believe)

Yes the speed adjustment is so helpful. I usually speed up podcasters as fast as I can handle, but not Rebecca! Lol
