I love how genius this part was, because Berdly is a character who's supposed to annoy you and this was a pretty clever way of representing it, not just with dialogs where characters are just chilling. He's like that one kid who just won't shut up while you're trying to do your thing
Funny detail? Look at the ones that save Noelle... A Tower/Raft of Mice. No wonder Noelle got over the little fellas in this case. They saved her life several times over while Berdly distracted Kris and the SOUL.
sadly, she gets over it no matter what, i managed to do this without her falling once and she still got over it, probably because she gets spooked the same amount of times.
It's a bit sad too because Noelle thinks Berdly is talking about Susie and when he says that their love will never fruit she starts to think that Susie might not like her
If you think about It, for a clock to be right even when broken, It has to be a pointer-clock, but those only has 12 hours separated on AM and PM, so they would be right TWICE a day. This still fits hin perfectly since he think the is the smartest but fail to notice this detail that makes his smart sentence wrong :^V
"Even a broken clock os right once a day." I was PUZZLE GAMING so I couldn't read it too much, but I noticed "and kris.... the target of her affection..." and was really confused until I looked up the full thing
One thing that bugs me is how he Berdly talks down to Noelle. He sees her as a weak damsel in distress who can't fend for herself. The Snowgrave route proves otherwise but even still, she is generally shown to be competent if not shy & timid, at times. I understand that Berdly is supposed to be the wannabe intellectual but it is difficult to stomach most of how he misunderstands the situation. His schema of how the world operates is way off and if he truly cared about Noelle, then he would understand that she needs bravery/guts/boldness, to balance out her shyness, than over-protection. IDK, I feel that Susie in Chapter 1 was much more nuanced, in her flaws, than Berdly was in Chapter 2. It's tough to put into words but her arc from bully to cinnamon bun felt more earned as it showed subtle hints of her good nature, early on. Susie joining the part for real, in the elevator scene had such emotional impact that it was a highlight in the game. Berdly's redemption felt rushed and out of nowhere. Being shown up by Kris & friends for the tenth time, made him divolgue his backstory. I don't hate him but he's my least favourite character of the main cast, for sure.
I do agree that Berdly is far from the best, but that's pretty much because he's already on a lower totem to begin with. The fact that his heel-face turn is played more for jokes with him embracing stupidity, to Noelle nearly choking him out after he further shows how unaware he really his. Berdly's arc is nowhere near as good as Susie's because he just not important. Chances are that we're going to see only a bare minimum of him in the upcoming chapters
Pretty sure that's partly the point, Noelle is affected by your actions where as Berdly is shown to not only be smart, but a complete idiot who is the only person of the main cast to have lasting injury or death, despite being shown for a single chapter. He isn't someone of high position, he is just that overconfident kid who acts like a know-it-all that gets flustered when proven wrong.
Meh, Berdly's "Arc" Wasn't really a redemption or attempting to be one since the guy isn't really a villain or a Bully himself. Just an obnoxious kid who really has no business trying to "fix" his friends, even less so seeing how inmature he himself is, so that complain its kinda irrelevant. Berdly is showed to care and actually notice when Noelle is acting off or looks "funny" Every scene they are together when something serious is happening. They have actually been friends a long time, and even if Berdly is too stupid at times, he actually can get serious to protect Noelle. I wouldn't say seeing Noelle as a weak damsel in distress is something only he does. Even her own father sees her as someone defenseless and easily scared, so criticizing the kid for that is really unfair, Noelle's response for everything is take cover and hide instead of facing her problems head on xd I don't think Snowgrave is an example of anything, the power she gets there is solely obtained through killing people, I don't think that is something she could be proud of. His "heel-face turn" Was him accepting that he doesn't have to pretend being smart so he can be accepted by others, the guy has self-worth issues that he hides under his "I'm smarter than you" Facade. He concentrates too much on that false image that he ends up drifting people away, pretending to be someone is not, while also ignoring his actually good traits, like being a kind friend, or a good leader, or being a really brave person, like when he destroyed his own arm to save Noelle from Queen without a second throught. Under Susie's violent exterior there was a misunderstood and lonely girl who only wanted to make friends. Under Berdly's arrogant exterior there was a good and kind hearted friend who can sacrifice himself for others. If anything, Berdly's Arc was actually more entertaining because of seeing that even such an annoying self-centered brat can actually be selfless and brave if he tries hard enough. They are all just insecure kids, not monsters or full on villains.
Berdley is an exaggerated stereotype of a weak kid playing up as the macho hero. Just like Kris, he sometimes goes way too far and doesn’t respect other people’s boundaries. (like little Kris trying to scare Noelle by breaking a ferris wheel and hiding under Noelle’s bed when she was already scared.)
ackchuyally a broken electric clock just turns off meanwhile analog clock have 12 hours on it while day have 24 hours, so a broken clock is right Twice a day.
I find it explains later developments quite well. Bird-Brain calls Noelle a helpless object, after which she actually starts contributing and is less of a doormat.
the background songs are "welcome to the city" from chapter 2, "the chase" from chapter 1, and a sped-up version of "a simple diversion" from chapter 2.
@basic blue Are you aware your other Deltarune videos are set as content for kids? Just checking, because YT is making it really difficult to watch your stuff.

I like how at the end, when we're all tuning him out and expecting him to just keep making a fool of himself, he actually says something decent.

@@ceoofcomedy3009 that how's she grant immunity to mice.
i just realised berdly was talking about noelle liking him, not Susie. This whole scene is so funny in retrospect lmao
It's a bit sad too because Noelle thinks Berdly is talking about Susie and when he says that their love will never fruit she starts to think that Susie might not like her
“Even a broken clock is right once a day” is the PERFECT line for Berdly
it really is

@@lonerimortal8 that’s exactly why I said it’s the perfect line for Berdly
I'm really thankfull for this. I swear my eyes splitted when doing this puzzle
(and cool editing, it's subtle and nice)
I tried so badly to solve puzzle and didn't even listen to Berdly at all. What is all of this. XD
Same. The second I realized what was going on, I completely ignored him lol
yeah kek i was very afraid something bad was going to happen to noelle if i lose the puzzle
thank you! idk how we're supposed to read that dialog WHILE doing the puzzle
the Illiterate Gamer Effect. Can't read while intense gameing is happening
lovers of aether minigame has this too
you are not supposed to.
that's the joke, he's being obnoxious by talking while we're doing something, making it hard to focus on either thing

Thank you I was bout to rip my eyes out trying to the dialogue and save Noelle at the same time
I was looking for a video like this because I wasn't paying attention to a single thing he said
I don't get the hate train for Berdly he's honestly the second funniest character after the Queen
glad this video exists, was too busy paying attention to the puzzle lol
His text here is a whole lotta nothin, just a funny distraction

OMG BECAUSE THIS TIME BERDLY WAS THE DIVERSION THATS BRILLIANT
I love the mice in this game
me: focused on puzzle
Berdly:
Neat video! Thanks for uploading!
why the hell is this in my recommendations
i'm not even subscribed what the hell is happening aaaaaa
also first because lmao
But I just read his dialogue and did the puzzle. You don't need to do anything to solve the puzzle
Those subtitles were beautiful
0:20 cheese!
