Y'know, I was thinking of the moment Susie took off with Ralsei. Ralsei healed Susie and realized if she learned healing magic, she could protect Kris better in certain circumstances like they had in the end of Chapter 1 where they both almost lost their lives to King. The moment Susie reunites with Kris, she's excited and immediately shows off her new technique to Kris and is all proud of herself. In one battle, she really encourages Kris to use the "Ultimate Heal" attack. When they go back to the Light World, when she sees MK dissing Kris she goes into her "bully" act and IMMEDIATELY scares MK and friend away, asking if Kris is ok afterwards. The finishing touch is Susie asking who Kris would rather take to the festival. Susie is really warming up to Kris by the end of the chapter. Sure, she gets some moments with Noelle but these two have had two chapters of steady build up together. Susie wants Kris to know that she can be someone who they can rely on...a protector. Susie will get to know the Dreemurr family in Chapter 3 and get to know Kris even more. In any event, even though she may tell Kris "you don't have to talk about it"...she's gonna get exposed to even more Dreemurr family drama thus resulting in Kris and Susie getting to know one another even more.

The festival in town feels like a masked carnival, where the laughter hides darker secrets beneath the surface; after all, when the hexagon aligns, the end is only the beginning. It’s not just that Kris likes Susie better, Kris TRUSTS Susie more because Susie is the only one who ignores the player input. Kris made sure that Susie was in the room when they created the new dark portal because they refuse to enter the dark world without her.
