IW Hockey reviews the Bauer Vapor X500 skate.
The Bauer Vapor X500 Ice Hockey Skates are a great choice for a recreational to intermediate level player. The Vapor X500 skates are the first model in this Vapor Line to showcase the innovative Tuuk Edge Holder. This Edge Holder has a quick release trigger system that allows players to swap out broken or damaged steel in seconds, while also offering one of the tightest turning radius' around.
Just picked these up, I could feel the power and speed and acceleration from these skates, I love them so far
I've been Inline Skating for over 5 years now and I think I'm going to buy my first pair of ice hockey skates. I play on inline teams already and since I just turned 17, its basically too late to get into the ice hockey game/teams, but I've always wanted to maybe play some pickup games with friends or just try out ice hockey by myself. Looking at either these skates or the X400, but I'll see! Really love the reviews from this channel. Everything is always explained in great detail and Chase really does an awesome job. Keep doing what you're doing!!
Bought these yesterday. Cant wait to take them for a spin!
just bought these the other day. haven't got to step on the ice with them yet but they fit great. I threw black laces on them.
man I wore these the other day for the first time and I felt like a newbie lmao. definitely need to work them in. around the tongue and ankle was so stiff
I'm currently using vapor x40 skates, so I have a generally narrow foot. The x40's worked great for a skate that helped me develope some good motions, but they're no longer supporting me the way I want them to, as far as stiffness/durability goes. $200-$260 was the price point I was looking to pay for some new skates. I'm just looking for something to really wrap around my foot, and to give me much more support and to be more responsive.
I'm currently working as a skate guard at an ice rink, skating about 2 hours a day, and 4-8 hours on weekends. This also includes recreational skating. (I don't play hockey, though I want to start.)
Would you recommend these skates to me as a good upgrade from the x40's, with durability?
I just got back into Hockey after 14 years my question is are there skates better for taking shots in motion compared to being stationary?icewarehouse?
is there a huge difference in steel from these to the better models and what difference does it make?
one more question. are x700 much better than this pair of skates?? thank u again
Hey chase, I noticed that the Tuuk blade holders curve inward at the toe. Is this normal?
hey Chase just bought the 500x skates played in a tournament and got a nice gouge from the bottom rib to the middle rib do I trade for the supreme 160 or get another pair of these
just got these!! do you think they are good for peewee AAA tryouts ?
Hello, i was looking at these but i need a wider size. How much width does the EE size add compared to the standard D? Does it increase width of the toe box? Thanks again!
I've had a pair of x500 skated for about 4 weeks now but they feel very different to anything I've skated before. is there any reason why the blade does not come out in the middle of the foot at the front ? and why are the blade holders at a very slight angle inwards ? it makes it really hard to change direction quickly
What skate would you recommend to get, Bauer vapor x70 or vapor x500?
Hi Chase how do these compare in stiffness to the Supreme s160 ?
I was wonderin,i want to buy a pair of vapor X500 by bauer are you able to ship this to singapore ?
hey guys, what would you reccomend these ones or BAUER VAPOR X500 LE BLACK. 10x beforehand
Here I am in 2022 and these are the dinosaurs I have 😢
Are you able to bake these??
Geoffrey Hodgins yes
Hey Chase, can you tell me what is the difference between these and the Bauer Supreme 170 15/16 model?
I am currently skating recreationally in Bauer React, and one of those two is gonna be my first 'real tight' hockey skate. I would like something real agile as I want to start attending local freestyle club and I've heard vapors are best for that.
But seeing Supreme 170 being much more expensive normally I am wondering whether that might be better? They are at the same price point now due to some sales where I live.
Which one would you recommend and why?
Thanks for the answer Chase, and sorry to bother you, but I didn't mention the Bauer Supreme S170, they are out of my price range!
I was hoping for a comparison of these (X500) and the Bauer Supreme 15/16 model, as that's the one on sale.
Looks like we got our wires crossed. Might be my fault, I am not a native English speaker. Could you please share your thoughts on which of those (Vapor X500 or Supreme 170 15/16 model) would be best?
Thanks!
Alright, I guess it will all come down to whichever will fit best then! Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it a lot. Nice of you to respond to comments even under a bit older vids. Cheers and merry christmass :)
So I ended up getting Vapors, as the older supremes were unavailable in my sizing and the newer edition 150's did not have a couple features i was getting with the 500x's, like reinforced tongue - i like to have that area real tight and that additional protection prevents the laces from 'biting' into my leg.
Already spent a couple hours riding in them, and they feel like 2nd skin, no discomfort whatsoever and they feel much more stiff than my older bauer react obviously.
Sizing is a curious thing. While me and my dad both have similar feet and often even borrow each others' shoes, he owns a EU 43 Vapor X.30 LE and runs fine, while it is too big for me - I went with 42.5 500X's and they fit like a glove, while my older Bauer React's were 44,5!
Yet another reason to go to a shop before you order - that is a must!
Needless to say - that really is one good looking skate :)
Thanks again Chase, Happy New Year :)
should I buy these or ccm ribcore 44k skate
Are these heat mouldable and I have a bunion, can they be punched?
Yes, they are heat moldable and you'll have to take them to your local skate shop to have them punched.
Brandon at IW Hockey
should i get these or the ccm jetspeed 260?
Should i get them? Because im new to this sport and not the best in ice skating
I just started ice skating for fun , and want to play ice hockey when im getting better at ice skating xD
Thx for your help!
are these skates good for a 14 year old playing at a high level of hockey
Chase I need alil help I am stuck on getting the Bauer nexus N700's or getting the Bauer x500s currently I own the Bauer one.7 and lookin to upgrade can anyone tell me the difference between them?
+Ice Warehouse honestly they feel very lose on the ankles after I tied them up. What I am looking for is something tight around my ankles for power and quickness plus not to mention they are the wrong size skate cause my friend owned them and gave them to me when I started playing ice acouple years ago
If i want to ship them to singapore, how much will it approximately be in us dollars ?
Including shipping
Are theses skates ok to heat mold
Does this skate have a stiffer boot than the x300?
Ice Warehouse Thank you
Is it way more expensive ?
where can i get cheap x500 skate?
I like the mesh more than the posite, the posite is so stiff you can't even tie the skate right without bending or strangling your feet.
can they be baked?
+Ice Warehouse thx alot for your help
+Ice Warehouse what temp in terms of celcius and for how long, bought these from iw
yeah i am
Can you bake these?
Michael Olvena yes
on the back of the skate sorry***
Lmao ice warehouse is def better
