    It's a shame that an old elevator was replaced, but this one's a beauty!

    Very nice freight elevator and this is a great example of how a modern day one should work. Really enjoy the video as always! Been on a freight elevator myself but it won't accept your call until after the door is closed.

      This is the second time I saw a freight elevator with the grocery store beep. Because the freight elevator at the Boston Sheraton is also a ThyssenKrupp and it also has the grocery store beep.

    There is a keyed freight elevator at our local Science museum, and it has an interesting behavior. The inside and outside doors open at the same time!

    You should see the progress of the hotel on top of the market parking garage

    The beep comes too early (about halfway between floors). This is probably in the same place where the beep would occur in a passenger elevator, however with the slower speeds of a freight lift this is some time before arrival at the floor.
    I wonder why elevators in the US have the floor beep activated, most don't in the UK. I doubt many people accurately count the floors when the beeps sound especially as this would require them to know the floor layout of the building.

    Asides being a cheaper system to put in, is there another advantage to replacing what was a traction elevator with a hydro one?

    Shame that they replaced an old Salem elevator. At least they had the sense to go with ThyssenKrupp and not some cheap company like Kone that would leave the elevator in worse condition after a year.

    It is nice. However converting it hydro from traction sounded to some degree like a not to good of an idea. Plus that bell is annoying. That floor indicator is nice.

    it's a shame of you have bad replacers or workers to do that, but the thing is very good installed.

  • @alpaljl

    Why would someone convert a traction elevator to hydraulic? Totally illogical idea!

    • @Dana_Danarosana
      @Dana_Danarosana 10 років тому

      I agree. I understand why they're installed... but if the traction hardware is already in place... I also don't understand..

    • @kansasthunderman1
      @kansasthunderman1 9 років тому

      alpalJL For a large freight elevator, conversion from traction to hydro provides more lifting capacity and a lower cost of operation.

    • @Dana_Danarosana
      @Dana_Danarosana 9 років тому

      I agree that a hydro replacement COULD POSSIBLY have a higher capacity... but hydros do NOT have a lower cost of operation than a typical overhead traction machine/
