- Experienced live sound technician Jamie Peever gives an intro to Ear Trumpet Labs microphones for new users. If you're just getting started with Edwina or one of our other models, this is an ideal starting point with tips on unboxing, how to tell Edwina's front from the back, how to position the mic for best volume, and how to eliminate feedback.
Special thanks to Jamie Peever of Peever Productions.

We use two Edwina and one Evelyn .. It is powerful .. a joy to play , Yes we played on big small crowd and all sorts of Stages last 9 months even with three monitors surrounding us, Knowing how to tune your speakers and monitors is a key for great sound and tone, Thank you for this video ! !
The background music is disturbing
Thanks for the solid tips! Myrtle arrived this week, going live December 23rd with Beth Whitney.
Does it come with a cord for the mic? Also, can you run it through a Tommy Emmanuel AER 60 amplifier? Thank you 🙏
We don't include a cable, but it will work with any XLR cable! It should work well with the AER 60 amplifier as long as it provides at least 24V of phantom power.
@@Eartrumpetlabs thank you for the information. Yes, the AER channel 2 provides 24V phantom power.
Thank you for the information, Jamie! I will be a proud owner of an Edwina someday... someday...
The Petersens bluegrass band is the most popular BG band on UA-cam, with 600K subscribers. They use Ear Trumpet exclusively.
The site says “multiple switch-selectable patterns - Cardiod, Omni, Figure 8.” For Mabel. Curious why it says that but doesn’t seem like it has that.
This is our Edwina model that Jamie's demonstrating here. Mabel is indeed our multi-pattern condenser-- more info on Mabel here: www.eartrumpetlabs.com/products/microphones/mabel
Or just get rid of monitor speakers and use IEMs!?
@Ear Trumpet Labs - I’ve been a fan of your mics since discovering one of my favorite bands of all time - The Milk Carton Kids - who use an Edwina i believe. I got to sing into theirs one time but I don’t own one. For a quiet “singer-songwriter” type who often plays seated - just me and a guitar, sometimes amped sometimes not, is the Edwina the best option? Also, if finances require that I look for a used one, is there a particular source or any tips you have on what to look for?
