I've been carving off/on for 20 years now. More off than on unfortunately as I've given my time to others. I'm going through some personal trials and realizing I'm needing to give more time to myself. I can't please everyone. That may sound selfish but as Raymond stated, carving is therapy. It was inspiring listening to his pursuit towards something he loves. God Bless.

Raymond, this was so great to watch. The whole family was intrigued and in awe. Mom loves the mermaid. Shane's work is stunning also.

Thanks for sharing your techniques on how to use the tools and how you approach your work. One day I hope to go to Disneyland and see your signs up close. You have made your mark at Disney and left a legacy.

Frank, this is the second time I’ve been totally blown away by one of your interviews. You truly know how to get an artist open up and tell their story. The instructional part of this interview is extremely valuable. I could, just after seeing the techniques, attempt to make a sign in this style. It’s been years since I did any relief carving and I used to be pretty good at it. After watching this video I’ll have to attempt something in the near future. Thanks. BTW -- I always wondered about the signs at Disneyland. Now I know the story. That part was fantastic.

Thank you so much Don, I really appreciate the feedback. I enjoy getting to know the woodworkers out there on a life and times level as well as their woodworking journey. Will be doing more of these going forward.

I really enjoyed how this was done. The interview does a remarkable job of talking to Raymond as if he is a long time friend. Its really an art in itself to converse that way.

Hi Raymond, after watching this again and again, I know you’ve talked about how scarce Jelutong is. What would be your second and third choice to work with? Thanks in advance!
