I have the spring loaded Knipex, best $70 ever spent. I make and cut my own chainmaille rings with them. Thickest I've cut is 12g stainless. Bought them in 2012 or 2013. Thousands of rings cuts, mostly stainless, no problems whatsoever.

Really impressive cutting and almost quarter inch steel rack with chrome on it.. it took two hands but that's a hell of a cut for a set of cutters that fit in your hand like pliers... I do like the fact that the Knipex cut through that cable that stuff can be a bitch sometimes.. Nice work....

I can honestly say I’m a fan of knipex but for the price you paid for the monster brand was very cheap. I can’t see where you’d go wrong with the monster brand as long as you stay within reason. My biggest concern is, did you pick up all the pieces you cut? If you didn’t hopefully I don’t drive through there any time soon 😂!

It's a joke based in how many different pronunciations I've heard on youtube. I know how the Germans pronounce it. I'm also aware that people are very ardent about how their pronunciation, which often differs from the German pronunciation, is correct. I came up with my own pronunciation as a passive protest. Rest assured, no matter I pronounce it someone will tell me I'm wrong.
To each their own...as a proper name, I prefer the original German pronunciation... but have also heard English speaking Knipex employees drop the “K”.... I figure Knipex don’t care how you say it as long as your\’re spreading the word. For what it’s worth, your pronunciation is really starting to grow on me... I may be a Kypock convert.
I have cut harder than 5/32. It is more of a struggle but will do the job. Remember to cut as soon as you finish welding. They cut twice as easy when the filler rod is warm.

I would use a saw for a toilet bolt. The porcelain could take damage, and the thread of the bolt will take damage. And in the US the toilet bolts are made of brass, so a very soft metal and easy to cut or saw. For larger things I've got the big brother of the CoBolt, with a 91cm grip (36"). I was suprised that the CoBolt cut the stranded wire, bolt cutters are designed to cut hard metal objects. Stranded wire is to soft for them, for this task a diagonal cutter is better.
I got introduced to Knipex cutters by my Snap-On dealer back in the 90's. The difference in performance was so big compared to anything Snap-On or Mac had, I purchased a set on the spot.
