I have also gone to the salon many times & left with uneven / choppy hair. You would think "professionals" would be able to do an even haircut. That should be a basic that they learn in cosmetology school. But shocked that some still can't seem to do it. So I figure it's worth trying to do myself....I mean her haircut turned out better than any "professional" hair stylist can seem to cut hair in my area. And why give them money to botch my hair, when I can do the same thing or better myself.
So beautiful! I’m thinking of trying this on my hair. I’ve gotten this a couple times at a salon and it’s never been even, so I might as well try it myself. 😝 If I have to go have a professional rescue me afterward then so be it. 🤷🏻♀️
Gorgeous!! 😍 That's a great cut for you & I'm going to try this for myself. I appreciate you taking the time to do this. I normally go to the salon but I have a chronic illness and have been stuck at home quite a bit the last few months. Going to the salon just isn't an option for me right now but I definitely still try to maintain my hair & just because I'm sick doesn't to feel like I'm trying out for an episode of The Walking Dead. I can't believe people post hateful comments on something as simple as a DIY haircut but then again I guess I can. Thanks so much for posting anyway. You rock 😉👏👏👏💞✌️
Who cares if ur a pro ur hair looks perfect im a cosmetoligist and know alot of pros that i could destroy a trim i wouldnt let any of them touch my hair but i wouldnt think twice about you cutting my hair. Dont listen to trolls u got it and are extremely beautiful woman !!🔥🔥
Awesome video! I’m trying it right now since I can’t afford a professional cut and getting out of the house is impossible for me. Thank you so much for this tutorial!
Hey Sharee, I used your method today. I really needed my hair cut. I'm staying in (social distancing), and before that I had the flu, so my hair got really long. It turned out great! I divided it as you show and got my husband to help a little in the back. Truthfully I can't see much difference than when I pay. I appreciate it!!!. I'm pretty amazed how nice it turned out. thanks!!!
I tried this today because I'm so sick of paying so much money going from hairdresser to hairdresser trying to get a decent cut & always being disappointed. I absolutely love it. Best cut I've had in years. Only down side- I snipped my finger with my shears... so be careful. Thankyou so much xxx
Isn't it absolutely ridiculous how most hairdressers have started charging so frickin much?!! I mean, I totally understand they gotta make a living, but [aprx] $85-150 for a wash+cut is a joke and half the time a rip off as many either don't really listen to what you actually want, or they just gave you a really bad haircut. I shockingly found someone amazing. He never disappointed me, not once in the few years I went to his salon. He charged $35 for both cut+wash! This is in a very trendy area in Los Angeles, he could be charging three times as much but would never do that he once told me. Sadly since Covid they're not open anymore. Sorry for rambling, it just makes no sense at some of the prices you see nowadays. This video was exactly what I needed, I can't wait to do this to my crazy "covid" hair, just need the razor 😍
Ain't that the truth. I've been through the mill looking for a decent hairdresser for years. Most of the time, I'm very disappointed with the cut. The odd time I've found a good hairdresser, they move away and I'm back to square one again. I can also say that this is the best cut I've had in years too! Sharee is the best.
I am by no means a professional, but I cut my mom's hair like this a little over year ago, and she loved it so much that she has asked me to redo her haircut like three times already. I was gonna cut her hair again today, and just thought I'd refresh my memory of this cut, and all I can say is: thank you, girl, this trick is brilliant and actually looks close to professional.
Then why the fuck are you here. At least 27 people care, clearly. Don't you have anything better to do than be facelessly rude to young women, or are you here because you're desperate for a DIY A-line bob.. Loser.
Wow, you cut your own hair way better than the hair stylist that I just went to. I wanted this same exact cut but she was not able to do it. Great job!
La caja de Pandora same ✊ no matter if with a detailed explanation or a picture. They never did it the way I wanted it + I had to pay for it. I cut my own hair since 7+ years and I always like it 😁
Most hairdressers would hate on these types of videos. Simply coz they dont want to loose customers. But if they didnt do such bad jobs then we wouldnt have had to resort to cutting our own hair would we. I think it looks great xx
I've had a lot of bad experiences with hair dressers messing my hair up, now I don't trust anyone with my hair. That is why I decided to learn to cut my own hair. 😀
Honestly this pony tail method is pretty full proof, as long as you’re doing it on dry, straighten hair that’s all the way brushed through. And as long as you don’t mind a more blunt look. For me personally, I hate layers, and like my hair all one length, so this technique is perfect for an at home haircut. I always feel I over pay when I get my hair professionally cut, because essentially this is the same thing they do, with the same end result
I'm a professional hairstylist and I have to say I love the way you cut this Bob so much better than I have ever learned any technique in school or throughout my experience. Love the outcome and so much faster!
Sis I have been coming back to this & your other lob cut video for years now. Every time I'm feelin like a lob again. Thank you (years later) for posting all these diy videos. I've gotten better at it over the years and it came in REAL handy when the pandemic hit! 🙌💙 Sending my love!
I worked up the courage to do this. Seven inches of dead ends from coloring is gone, my hair is so soft now and It looks beautiful... my husband loves it! Thank you for this great tutorial!!!
Coronavirus can’t keep my hair down. I’m officially my families hair stylist. Thanks for the video! I was stunned at how beautiful it turned out! Doing this as soon as my thinning shears comes in or which would you prefer maybe hair cutter comb? Does it really matter or make a difference which one I use to shape it?
I just did this method and I really like the result! I didn’t use a blade to blend, because I have thin hair and It wasn’t even necessary, go figure. I left my front ends longer, and I will probably approach an even shorter look in the back after New Years. The way this guide is presented is in a very non-threatening way, so you become unafraid of trying. I recommend to err on the side of pulling your back elastic a little longer than you want, for your cut, just so you have extra hair for mistakes. I cut my hair on a greasy hair day and I made sure to part my hair very well and also straightened it first. I ended up making no mistakes this way! Best of luck everyone!
For a DIY it came out really good. A lot of stylist struggle with this cut, so for you to do so well without formal training is remarkable. Good job! You rocked it!
I've been cutting my own hair for 42 years. I think I've been to a hairdresser maybe three times since I was 21, and they were never able to cut my hair as well as I can. You did a fabulous job. Not sure I would be brave enough to razor my hair, but you made it work!
I'm a licensed Cosmetologist, and Cosmetology Instructor, and i think she did a fabulous job! It looks great. I started cutting hair long before i went to school. But it's not just you guys that get bad cuts. I actually went to get my haircut once, took a picture w/me, and asked before if they were able to do the cut, & was told yes. I even gave her specific instructions on exactly what i wanted. All i got was a basic blunt cut that i could have goven myself! It's difficult finding someone you trust & that does a great job. I've found the best way I find a great stylist is by looking at other women, & when you see someone who has a great cut, color, whatever you are looking to get done, ask her who she goes to. Hope this helps you all find a great stylist! Every woman deserves to look & feel beautiful, & like a million bucks!
I totally agree! 23 years in the profession and I usually cut my own. If I could pop my head off and sit it on a table, I'd give myself an awsome cut! This is a great video!
I'm a retired hair and nail tech, I think you did just fine. It's the end cut that shows it, it looks great and it's just what you were going for. How you got there doesn't matter. In fact, I wear my hair in an A line bob about that same length. Next time I cut it, which I need to do because it's been like 3 months now, I'm doing it this way. Much easier and faster than what I usually do to cut my own hair. Great job!
I couldn’t agree more with you, I was thinking the same thing the whole time I’m watching her in this video. Well oh my goodness look at this I was just in lightened on the easier way to do it myself as well. Because I definitely take the long way around instead of just even for the target like she did. So I think she’s got quite a few professional fans out there.
@@jessiemelearm5275 Wow! Four years gone by and I'm still wearing the same cut, but if something works you stick with it, right! It definitely works, you need the right tools, too. I've got good hair cutting shears, an electric razor and a good straight razor with different cutting heads. I do this and incorporate a more shattered layer look in the back & sides and BINGO!! I haven't gone to a salon to get a hair cut in about 10 years, being a hair tech, I'm picky about my own cut, only I know what I really want. If I screw it up there's only me to blame! : )
do you have thick hair or not? mine is quite thin and Im affraid if I dont go to a salon for a propper cut and cut it on my own, I will not have enough volume :/ but I have already such a long time the temptation to cut my hair like this! I love it long, but I think I need some radical change :D
Michaela Lousova if you have thin hair then dont put layers, and make a blunt cut. blow dry with moose instead of straightening. the youtuber "freesaloneducation" dude does a great job. i hope that was his accounts name tho...
Ive always had super long hair (with super dead ends). I watched this video a few months ago... i said, "i could do that..." Went into the bathroom for 20 mins, and came out a whole new person. The next day i ran into an acquaintance with her 4 year old granddaughter, and i heard her granddaughter whisper, "mom mom, is she a princess?" From that day on i knew this was gonna be my hairstyle for a long time. I get compliments all the time and my boyfriend absolutely loves it. And so do i. So i just wanted to say thanks for making me a princess! 👸🏼
Thank you for this tutorial! Just did it on my own hair and it looks amazing! I have thick hair so I used my thinning shears to help blend the blunt portion of the back and added some layers to give the roundness to the back.
You just saved me $30! It worked and it was quick. I have pretty thick hair, so instead of using a razor to add layers/wisps, I used thinning shears. Thank you for sharing!!! Cutting your own hair is empowering! :)
I watched this video last night and cut my hair right after. Because I have really thick hair so the back of the haircut tends to be a little bit thick looked, so I get a hair straightener and curled the ends inside and it came out amazing!!!!! Thank you so much for this video clip!!!!
it is a lot harder to do this specific method with thick hair. a lot of different things come into play. You could try it, but I wouldn't expect as smooth of an outcome as what she got with her hair :)
I do my own Long bob all the time, and I can confirm, that since my hair is thick ...it takes HOURS to perfect it. There are way more steps than this, and us thicker haired gals need to do a lot of layering and thinning out at the bottom.
I know these comments were all a year ago but I am in the same boat. I want a haircut so bad but I don't have the money to spend on someone else doing it, but I'm sooo scared to mess my own up. It's long and a lot of work. I wanted to sell most of it and then learn how to do it myself so I could save money and know how to maintain it for free...
Thank you so much for this easy to do cut. You look fabulous! I am fed up of giving hairdressers perfectly clear photos of what I want and being disappointed with the results and lighter in the pocket! I trust myself more than hairdressers. I'll let them colour my hair though.
Thank you, Sharee! I really needed a cut while working in healthcare under strict social distancing precautions. Your tutorial is Honest, simple to follow, producing great results. I’ve gotten lots of compliments and have shared your channel with friends.
I've been watching diy hair videos for a straight hour girl!🤦♀️ But then I came across your video, and omg thank you!!!!! You did such a beautiful job and its EXACTLY what I was looking for. So easy to! Now all I need is a razor for hair. I have great shears but am still lacking some tools. Amazon here I come, lol. I haven't read any comments but if anybody give you 💩🤬 Screw them, it really doesn't matter whatsoever what they think. Just subscribed to your channel. Can't wait to watch some videos 🎉🤩🥳 Thanks again!
YES me, she just didn't seem scared enough so i decided best be afraid for her ... call me crazy but i feel like i contributed somehow soo yw possibly :/
I've cut my own hair for thirty years now and needed a different , easier way this time. I watched quite a few diy vids and yours was by far the best. My cut turned out great, thank you!
This does not work on thick hair. So PLEASE if you have thick or a lot of hair this will be extremely difficult. It's a great technique for those with thinner locks but not always effective for everyone.
Beautiful! This is exactly what I was looking for. My cosmetology instructor showed me how to do this about ten years ago and I haven’t done it since then. I was a bit hesitant. I actually never got my cosmetology license but instead went on to be a nurse 😂. I just occasionally do family members hair when they ask me, so not completely rusty.
Yeeesss honey I’m cutting out the salon and jumping on this DIY heading to the beauty supply for good scissors and I think I’ll even do my own color....
I did this cut on myself after watching your video a few weeks ago and I love it! I was a bit nervous so I went a few inches longer than yours. Next cut will be shorter! So fast and easy and it turned out great! Thank you!!!
Hi! I've been using this video to cut my hair for a while now. I wanted to ask if you could do a video for being people getting started at home on hair cutting tools. Like how to get a good pair of scissors. Using a razor vs thinning sheers.....It would be really helpful! Thank you.
I am so tired of going to professionals and paying a lot of money and getting shitty results, I rather take your approach, I have already tried cutting my long hair and it worked out, I love the way your hair turned out and you made it look very easy great job!
I followed this tutorial and my hair turned out great! Had some trouble getting it even when cutting the ponytail but everything else was a snap, and I’ve received a ton of compliments 😭❤️
I used your technique and it turned out GREAT! Thank you SO much! The only thing I needed was a tiny bit of help on the back just to make sure there were not crazy pieces. Like you said, the tight ponytails are key! My hair is thick and curly (intense wavy blend) and I did the ponytails just like you and cut the hair while dry. Then I just used the shears to layer it from the back to front on the sides into an a-line. I couldn't be happier! Thank you! :)
As a cosmetologist it's so much fun to see how people interpet the art with no education, so unique. Sometimes I wish this career had more room for your own experimentation.
Olivia Foley you're not working At the right salon then! You can Follow a guide all day for certain cuts but it's about tailoring the cut to that persons unique hair and shape Of there head. Find you a salon with other great stylists and with great education! Changed my life and career! I love teaching my clients tips for at home. My cuts are not 20 Dollars but there not 100 either, but ALL of my clients love the fact that I don't pretend to know everything! We are constantly learning! This girl should become a stylist because her common sense on angles and adding volume is better then some stylists that have been doing it forever. It's about CARING first and foremost. And remember ladies it's all about the angles you lift the hair off the scalp that achieves different layers and looks!
I experiment all the time!! u have to! if u didn't do that how are we guna find all these new techniques and methods to do these beautiful new looks?? that's the beauty of this career is u can try new things!!
"The art"?? "no education"? Wow miss snooty high brow...cosmetologists are like plumbers, there is always going to be need as there as long as there are humans but it's really just a crappy service job.......
Lindsay Morris please do not experiment on real people .. please .. stylist will be absolute soon .. Too many people complaining .. is the products out now... I never heard of so many people complaining about not only inexperienced stylist can’t cut but color coming out really bad... all this bonding shit now they stick in with the color has me wonder .. since a stylist added in bonding shit my color is never right !!! I recommend everyone watch you tune and do your own hair .. stylist suck ass
Hey! I cut my own hair, too by studying videos on youtube, like this one. Simplifying a cut makes it easier for people like me. Also, I get to see how razoring the hair works. I usually use thinning shears, but razoring has always interested me. I keep my hair in a swing bob-shorter in the back and longer in the front. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and style!
I first saw this and thought "Oh. My. Gosh!!! What in the fu3k is she doing?" Girl u got some ballz. Lol. Awesome Awesome cut! Love the Outcome and love the color. Great job for a homemade haircut. 😀
I have watched your video a while ago and wanted to try it on my own too. It didn't turn out as even as I expected and my boyfriend helped me to correct it and now it looks great! And I am glad that my broken and dry ends are gone. Your tutorial is easy and quick, thank you for your inspiration. :3 ♥
My recommendation is to get a hair mannequin to practice with. Good quality scissors are a must. She was also using a point-cut technique when she was saying “layering”. Best wishes and if it doesn’t work out, a favorite hat is always a great fishing touch.
CAN YOU PLEASE ALSO DO A TUTORIAL ON YOUR HAIRCOLORING? WAS IT DIY TOO? LOVE THE COLOR!!! AND THOUGH I LIKED YOUR A-LINE CUT (BECAUSE YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFUL, I THINK ANYTHING WOULD LOOK GREAT ON YOU! LOL) ... I ACTUALLY LOVE YOUR ORIGINAL HAIRCUT! NONE OF THE SALONS I GO TO HERE IN NORTH AMERICA CAN EVER DO A GORGEOUS 'LAYERED CUT" THE WAY ASIAN HAIRSTYLISTS DO. :(
well done! some professionals cannot cut hair as good as you cut your hair, I know because very few professionals can cut my hair the way I ask for it to be cut. Hell if I lived by you I would ask you to cut my hair.
It looks awesome and I'm going do the same. I don't feel we should or have to be professional or not who cares what matters is it's our hair and we should be able to do what we want. Also some people like me can't afford to go to salon/see a professional so I do this myself save time save money and don't have worry about professionals/salons messing it up or putting bad energy or whatever into your hair. Be humble
Gorgeous! You know, with this plague more and more of us are diy’ing our own hair and LOVING IT! My granddaughter cut my middle of the back silver grey into a blunt cut and tomorrow she’s doing curtain bangs! Loving it!
I'd like to add that if you have very thick hair, you should divide the back section into two ponytails. Cut as shown and compare length of both sides. Then continue as shown in the video.
Now that's quite the skill! One handed cutting, holding mirror in other hand and coordination of looking in the other mirror behind!! Wowsers Great job😊
I’ve been a qualified hairdresser since 1987. . I’ve done competition work as well as being a tutor . . . . . I think you’ve done a fab job ✅ ✅ ✅ Keep up the good work honey X

For all the naysayers - I followed Sharee's video and cut my hair. It worked beautifully!
For a DIY I think it worked out perfect its really pretty and your hair looks great afterwards.
Thank you so much 😊
I just found this and am going to try it. Beautiful job.

I agree with you it looks amazing and as a professional I love it...she did a great job! :)
Ppl are so judgemental lol was it cut the right way ??nope but she pulled it off
Right? Thank you! Just because it's a different technique to cut ones own hair than if someone else was doing it means very little.
+liz venuto Exactly!!
i am with you, she did well doing it on herself like shit. props to her!

I'm gonna say she's probably had some training as a hair stylist. Not too many ppl have their own razors to trim hair with
Great job!! Better than a lot of BoRics people do. You should consider cosmetology school....you'd be great at it 💅💇♀️

Hair stylist sayings it’s wrong are literally just jealous! They can never satisfy a customer I swear, they so salty. 😂
I try it and it turns out amazing ✨✨I don't even need to go to Salon
do you have thick hair or not? mine is quite thin and Im affraid if I dont go to a salon for a propper cut and cut it on my own, I will not have enough volume :/ but I have already such a long time the temptation to cut my hair like this! I love it long, but I think I need some radical change :D
Michaela Lousova if you have thin hair then dont put layers, and make a blunt cut. blow dry with moose instead of straightening. the youtuber "freesaloneducation" dude does a great job. i hope that was his accounts name tho...
this was AMAZING took me ten min and was better than any cut I've had in probably 5 years
OMG you are brave! I can never chop my hair by myself, I do NOT trust myself hahah. Great video :)
Ive always had super long hair (with super dead ends). I watched this video a few months ago... i said, "i could do that..."
Went into the bathroom for 20 mins, and came out a whole new person.
I love this!
Holy crap my heart dropped when you cut off the main pony tail at the beginning of the video! Your hair turned out REALLY well though! Love it
Thank you 😊
"I have a pair of good shears"
*takes a while to cut*
"Pair of good shears"
"Of good shears"
"Good shears"
"Good"
Sniffle Chan very cute 😎
Thank you for this tutorial! Just did it on my own hair and it looks amazing! I have thick hair so I used my thinning shears to help blend the blunt portion of the back and added some layers to give the roundness to the back.
You just saved me $30! It worked and it was quick. I have pretty thick hair, so instead of using a razor to add layers/wisps, I used thinning shears. Thank you for sharing!!! Cutting your own hair is empowering! :)
YOU have guts! It turned out beautiful, so happy, beautiful girl!
I watched this video last night and cut my hair right after. Because I have really thick hair so the back of the haircut tends to be a little bit thick looked, so I get a hair straightener and curled the ends inside and it came out amazing!!!!! Thank you so much for this video clip!!!!
Thick-haired ladies.. Don't do this!
+emily word lol really ! i was about to try it
Whyyyyy?
it is a lot harder to do this specific method with thick hair. a lot of different things come into play. You could try it, but I wouldn't expect as smooth of an outcome as what she got with her hair :)
+emily word Okay, I hear you, worth thinking about... Hugs!
I do my own Long bob all the time, and I can confirm, that since my hair is thick ...it takes HOURS to perfect it. There are way more steps than this, and us thicker haired gals need to do a lot of layering and thinning out at the bottom.
I want to cut it but i don't have the razor you have 😭😭 i wonder if just using the scissors it would be good?? 🤔🤷
i wanna try this but i feel like if i try this ill mess up
Fam Jewels
Tell me about it. I am scared too. 😂
do it!
What part of the bible is the Daniel fast taken from
Thank you so much for this easy to do cut.
Finally something that matches both my thin hair and my level of hairdressing (nonexisting). A big thank you!
that moment you realize you are about to save $120 on a one length haircut when clearly you've asked for a bob lol!
thanks for this 😉
I've been watching diy hair videos for a straight hour girl!🤦♀️ But then I came across your video, and omg thank you!!!!!
Awe thanks girl
In lockdown for the foreseeable future here in the U.K. and I really need a haircut, I’ll be trying this as soon as my razor comb arrives!!
Sarah Bannon I’m here because lockdown to 😂
Jessica Hope you’re doing ok and keeping safe x
did someone else scream on the inside when she tied her hair up and cut right off? XD
YES me, she just didn't seem scared enough so i decided best be afraid for her ... call me crazy but i feel like i contributed somehow soo yw possibly :/
Nope. It’s just hair.
I'm so glad it worked out! 😊
Thank you.
Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. Super simple and comes out super cute.
There’s just something about raw, natural talent that’s refreshing! Great job! I mean really! Thank you!
Eva Abe it’s practice. I’ve done it many years and it takes a lot to get good at it. I bet she’s done this many times.
Thank you! :)
For some reason I hate doing my hair, I WANT TO SHAVE IT ALL OFF, but first I'm trying this technique..if I mess it up, then y'all know whats next🙊
I'm growing out my pixie... This is next definitely!
As a cosmetologist it's so much fun to see how people interpet the art with no education, so unique. Sometimes I wish this career had more room for your own experimentation.
Olivia Foley you're not working
At the right salon then! You can
Follow a guide all day for certain cuts but it's about tailoring the cut to that persons unique hair and shape
Of there head. Find you a salon with other great stylists and with great education! Changed my life and career! I love teaching my clients tips for at home. My cuts are not 20
Dollars but there not 100 either, but ALL of my clients love the fact that I don't pretend to know everything! We are constantly learning! This girl should become a stylist because her common sense on angles and adding volume is better then some stylists that have been doing it forever. It's about CARING first and foremost. And remember ladies it's all about the angles you lift the hair off the scalp that achieves different layers and looks!
Also! Do experiment!!! Just use the knowledge you have that tells you what would give you what you don't want, to do what you do want!
So I can use thinning sheers instead of a razor!!? Gr8!!
I just did exactly as you did and I'm so happy with the result, my hair was so long and thick yet it worked. Thank you million times ❤
I’m glad it worked out 😊
r u having the same kind of hair as hers
@@appukuttancv4208 my hair is wavy and dry I first straightened before doing the cut
@@sarahtlm013 mine too dear
Looks great! You have guts.
thanks
great job!
I just used this technique and it turned out fabulously! Thank you!
I first saw this and thought "Oh. My. Gosh!!! What in the fu3k is she doing?" Girl u got some ballz. Lol. Awesome Awesome cut! Love the
Outcome and love the color.
I did the same haircut myself and i love it thank you!!! 👍🏻☺️😉
All I could say is that this turned absolutely gorgeous and that you should think about doing it professionally.
I love this cut and your hair colors. I also love your make-up. Can you do a tutorial on your make-up look in this video?
What's even more amazing about this is that she's cutting her hair DRY! Amazing work, bravo!
Thank you girl !!! I love my hair ! And safed 50 + dollars !!!
Yay! I'm so glad it worked out 😁😁
Um, this worked great, and I am a pro. I needed to fix my own during COVID and BRAVO.
Thank you
Now that's quite the skill! One handed cutting, holding mirror in other hand and coordination of looking in the other mirror behind!! Wowsers Great job😊
I got skills hahah
Very good job. Fist time I watched a video that make sense how cut your hair by yourself
Great info. Just cut about 4 inches off mine. Looks great. Thank you!
I’ve been a qualified hairdresser since 1987. . I’ve done competition work as well as being a tutor . . . . . I think you’ve done a fab job ✅ ✅ ✅
Keep up the good work honey X
