A nicely built model but historicly inaccurate. The video show a grossly oversized windlass on the fo'c'sle deck. This should not be there. The anchors were weighed via capstan and messenger on the lower gun deck, as was anything else heavy including the ships boats. The quarter galleries should be curved not flat. I haven't studied the rigging yet so I can't comment there, but about 5-6 years ago I built their Sovereign of the Seas 1638 and the rigging was all over the place wrong with half the ropes missing and half of what was there was in the wrong place and unworkable. In fact the model was so badly designed that I vowed never to buy another DeAgostini model again.
Unbelievable men, I love it ! Such a wonderful ship, built with so much passion ! There is really nothing that could spoil the joy ! Only one little question, how do you want to keep it clean ?
Served on HMS Victory as a Royal Marine back in 1989 and in the adjacent RN museum there are some excellent models of the ship, have to say this one wouldn't be out of place there as well.
ciao complimenti ottima realizzazione peccato per il GROSSOLANO ERRORE che avete fatto in quanto su alberi e pennoni in quanto nella versione verniciata ovvero la vostra il fusto di parrocchetto di velaccino ecc.... andavano verniciati giallo ocra vedi le foto della victory originale altresi dicasi delle aste di coltellaccio e di scopamare in parte andavano colorate giallo ocra peccato comunque congratulazioni soprattutto le il rivestimento in rame io personalmrnte l'ho verniciata color rame in quanto non sono riuscito a reperire le lastre di rame cordiali saluti e complimenti da Luigi ciao

beautiful work. I've built a few smaller less detailed ships and one thing that drives me to distraction: the scale rope and lines don't lie properly. For example: through the block and tackle around the cannons they don't hang or curve around the pulleys properly.....makes me nutso lol..... On my next build I'm going to see if I can soak the lines and add fabric softener or something to get them to be more flaccid.

I know your comment is 2 years old, but there's many different methods to get it right. Watch some youtube videos and find the one that works best for you. Number 1: patience and make sure the planks fit nice before gluing.

tutta la copertura è autocostruita con finto rame cioè è alluminio anodizzato rame, sono strisce lunghe 20 cm. alte 6 m/m rivettate sul retro con un attrezzo fatto apposta ciao.

I've built some smaller ones and at about 5 hrs a week, took me a year......Something with this much detail you have to take your time. I found that I had to be "in the mood". If I was stressed from my office job, that wasn't the time to work on it.....

Però credo e ne sono certo che la Victory che ho costruito, che abbiamo costruito con le uscite della DeAgostini i progetto e i materiali sono della "ARTESIANA LATINA" almen o questo si sentiva nelle discussioni nei vari forum di modellismo. Per l'esperienza che ho avuto con questa nave ti devo dire che è molto dettagliata, una cosa mi sono dimenticato di dirti precedentemente, ho elaborato anche, come si vede dalle foto, tutte le cornici dei giardinetti dello specchio di poppa, l'originale lasciava on po' a desiderare per i miei gusti, tutto qua carissimo.Ti saluto e buona serata.Roberto.
